A rapid fire of details hit me in exactly the same order, yet I could feel like this might be the end of me collapsing. Evolution slumber was so unnecessary and dangerous, so hopefully this is the last time I see this feature. Having made sure that another set of announcements was being set off, I decided to wake up to my nice and cute wolf puppies. My eyes did not meet the adorable eyes of my baby wolves, but the fierce, condescending, and strong eyes of a dragon. The ceiling was not that of the open sky, but rather it was the enclosure of a massive cave. The fear gripped my heart, causing me to scream out in pure terror as I gazed upon this majestic monster before me.
“UWAH?!”
I panicked as I jumped up to my feet and took a stance with nothing but my enlarged slime fists. The dragon’s scales were light ocean blue, with deep sea eyes and a single horn that protruded from its forehead. It narrowed its eyes and sighed.
“I didn’t expect to have to fight a dragon this early in my life, but here we are!”
“I have no desire to confront an entity as weak as you. Reborn or not, weakness is weakness. Just to make myself clear, I was worried about the little baby Fenrirs, who were barking loudly when they saw you collapse.”
The dragon sighed once again as I started letting my guard down because it sounded like it was a nice and kind monster.
“Humans, regardless of the world they come from, are such a reckless race.”
“Wait. What do you mean by human? But I didn’t say I was human.”
This, probably a female dragon, had a nice voice that calmed my soul, but I still managed to listen carefully to the words she spoke. This situation could deteriorate in several negative ways, and I might have to fight her. Also, how on earth did she know I was a human? I am a slime who ate a dark elf. How is it she didn’t say dark elf instead?
“Are you familiar with Anti-Appraisal skills?
“No.”
“This is how easy it was to tell that you were not from this world, as a first sign. I could easily read back your status. The other factor was your chance meeting with the evil goddess of life.”
【 Wait, how did she know I met up with her?! Where was this dragon?! 】
My brain spat out those questions as I was scurrying to think of who and what she was. I finally concluded that made me scream it out.
“Ah! THE WATER DRAGON?!”
She wore a smug expression on her face as she saw me panic upon learning her identity.
“Indeed. You should praise me for my efforts of protection against monsters who would’ve otherwise devoured you.”
“Thank you, Great Dragon-sama, for being so kind.”
I had realized that I had returned to my original slime form and promptly returned to my dark elf base. Noticing immediately, white tribal tattoos focused on my arms and thighs, emphasizing my body line.
The water dragon said with a patience that seemed to be quite regal as I turned to the side to open my status.

“Eh? Eh? Ehhhhhhhhh?!”
Despite screaming and being surprised at the levels and rank ups I had gotten, I was happy that I could be competent enough to not disappoint Lythalia in protecting her children. After finishing my loud screaming, I became observant of the fact that my magic resistance was slightly higher than my physical attack resistance. I looked at the water dragon, and she somehow caught on my drifting, yet loud thoughts. The same dragon looked away in embarrassment, I’ve caught my culprit case closed. I heard loud barking and saw two oversized wolf pups run towards me and lick my face all over.
“Geri, Freki”
It had appeared the two had grown in size, with signs of having aged a little. To me, they still looked like puppies, yet I could feel a sense of growing power from watching them. I looked up at the water dragon once again, who seemed proud that she was taking care of the Fenrir puppies.
“They are prodigies in their own right. As their teacher, I am proud of the way they became used to hunting. They caught on to my lessons rather quickly, as expected of the evil goddess’ children.”
“Thank you for everything you have done thus far. Even though you did not need to do that. I honestly appreciate all that you have done for me.”
Her intense gaze softened up a bit, which made my praise for her but I did not expect the following words that came out of her mouth.
“I’ve made the decision to stay with you, human from another world.”
“Eh? Why?”
I did not see any valid reason for her to be with me at all. I was weak, and I didn’t have much going for me except being an absolute dumbass.
“Because you are interesting and you have received the blessing of a goddess that I know nothing about. I best believe that this is a better outcome for the both of us, is it not?”
There was something more to her words than just I am interested in you and I want to see where your life is gonna go from here. Hence, I spoke my mind out with ease.
“Hmm, is that a dragon’s way of saying I am lonely? Please be my friend?”
“I-IT IS NOT!! I AM MERELY INTERESTED IN YOU THAT IS ALL!!”
Yup, she’s a tsundere, she’s just lonely and finally someone interesting has popped up in her life whom she can watch over for entertainment.
“Okay, okay lonely dragon-chan”
“My name is Shen, remember it well, human!”
Shen shouts out as she turned her head to the side whilst closing her eyes. That’s such a tsundere thing to do. I smile as I introduced my name to this cute dragon. I am sure we will be fantastic friends.
“The name’s Shinohara Yukiyo. Nice to meet you I hope we can be really good friends”
I am sure we will be fantastic friends. I could feel a bond being made between us, which gave me a bit of joy and a sense of security knowing someone had my back.
“Say, there is a giant and orc king nearby, right?
“Hmm? There is?”
My statement surprised Shen. Aren’t you the dragon that lived here the longest? So I suggested something that would please her.
“Yes. Why don’t we kill them”
“You are surprisingly bloodthirsty for a human”
“Well, I was a heavy leveling addict in my previous world. I am only as proficient at murdering things in VRMMOs as I should be.”
“VeeAr……what?”
“Don’t worry about it. It’s just that I am very skilled for someone of my stature.”
Shen had a look of confusion, concern and slight joy on her face, which made things rather interesting on my part.
“That explains much of your personality. What benefit does killing them do?”
“More area control, more monsters get to know who is boss around here. Sounds fun right Shen?”
“Hmm, you are correct in that regard. What of their strength, Yukiyo? How much of a level difference do they have between us?”
Having used Appraisal-tan once again, I made it a point to not get appraised back. I gave out my answer with a confident smile that I could beat them.
“The giant is lower than you by a couple of levels, 6 levels whole”
“It should be easy to defeat it and the Orc King?”
“26 levels above me”
Shen seemed to stare at me with a look of concern now, seems this pompous dragon actually cares how cute.
“Will you truly prevail Shinohara?”
“Yes.”
“How can you be so sure? You barely made it out from the battle with the goblin chief.”
“When strength doesn’t cut it, then strategy and tactics does”
“While that is indeed true, how will you deal with those surround the Orc King? Do you also have a plan for this as well?”
“Yes, I do and that is why I am going to make the piggy’s life a bit of hell.”
I said with a smile as Shen sighed, standing up from her sitting posture, heading deeper into the cave whilst I waited with Geri and Freki. I kept on patting them as I waited. Then Shen came back with a chest, that was typical of a fantasy world, which she drops in front of me.
“Uh…..?”
“Take it, you may need it Shinohara”
“What is inside?”
“My knowledge does not extend that far. I’ve cleared all thefloors of this minor cave dungeon, ate the core, and claimed it as my home. I did not bother to touch the dungeon’s chest.”
“Wait, this is a dungeon?”
“Yes, I just said so. Were you listening if at all Shinohara?”
Shen answered with a straightforward jab at my naivety.
“How many floors does it have?”
“About 3 floors, all of which are the similar and one note. The goblins are things I can crush with Water Shot.”
“You went 3 floors down just to get a dungeon chest for a person who you’ve just made friends with?”
There were two sides to this question. One was out of curiosity and the other was I wanted to see her reaction. She remained silent for two whole minutes and then I received the reaction I was looking for.
“I DID NOT DO THIS FOR YOU!! I DID THIS BECAUSE I THOUGHT YOU LOOKED INADEQUATE IN THE CLOTHES AND EQUIPMENT YOU WERE GIVEN!!”
“But the evil goddess gave these clothes to me. They are not that bad. I think they are sturdy enough. You were worried about me, weren’t you?”
“Tch, humans are such invasive creatures. I should’ve left you to rot.”
This dragon is blushing, isn’t she? Enough teasing her. Time to eat some pork! I looked at Geri and Freki, who barked loudly with cheerful faces as something was going to be served for dinner tonight. I smiled as I opened the dungeon chest. Let us hope Lythalia doesn’t intervene in somewhere or was hearing in on this conversation.
『Acquired Item Box Skill!』
“………..She intervened. She just made Appraisal-chan spoil me rotten with a good skill. I have no problem with this predicament.”
The confirmation of my hunch made me want to sink into the earth. Within the dungeon-chest was a hoodie coat, its red coloring was fading away, and it seemed to look like dried blood in a way. Right beneath that was a magic mechanical bow with an emphasis on quality about it.
“How the hell was it able to reproduce a modern bow like this?”
“The dungeon chest reads the soul of the one who opens and provides them with what they need the most at the moment. The chest also reproduces certain items from the memory of the adventurer, including things that come from their specific region of the world. This weapon truly is an advanced bow. I can say the magic it carries is very fascinating. This almost feels like wild magic that we dragons use.”
Shen gave an explanation and followed it up with an evaluation of the bow, which was rather common in Sword Fantasy and my world. Naming it the Star Cutter MK I, I donned the dried blood coat and put the bow on my back. Geri and Freki barked and licked my face in approval, which made me happy. Shen comments on this with a stern voice.
“You look certainly inspired, may luck be on your side. And do not die I have many a thing to ask of you Shinohara.”
Shen said before exiting the cave dungeon and flying off to the location of the giant that I had given her before opening the dungeon chest. Staring at Geri and Freki who nodded in agreement to our plans, I jumped onto one of them and directed them at the settlement that the Orc King had taken residence in.

The Orc King Bugadris was sitting on his throne with his eyes closed and focusing on the auras that had surrounded him. He was at peace that he was slowly building his kingdom in this remote forest. No one dared to oppose him. He captured some Elven women and made them the mothers of his children. Once the Orc population had grown to a sizable degree, he had them eaten alive as reward for their persistence and perseverance. Since they could not multiply otherwise, they had to capture more females from other races, but they needed strength to raid human towns and villages. They achieved this by increasing their numbers and using their wisdom to utilize that strength. One might think they are all powerful only for them to meet a being who stands above them and smacks them back down to the mud where they belonged.
His men, who were also his children, celebrated that they killed a Thorn Bull all on their own. It wasn’t a simple task. They celebrated their accomplishment of killing a Thorn Bull all on their own, and they were merry making with the stolen wine they had taken from a caravan of humans they had raided just a few days ago. Furthermore, they had constructed this fortress themselves. It was aspiring he had done so much in a couple of years. He avoided the giant and dragon that lived in this area, but he was close to reaching their levels. Finding high leveled monsters within this forest was easy, that’s why it was going to be an ease for him to catch up to the giant and the dragon soon.
The Orc King opened his eyes and decided to walk out of his residence. He opened the tent and saw his children still celebrating their victory over a monster that would have otherwise killed them all. Bugadris raised his hand to silence them all. He was proud of them and was about to open his mouth. Just as Bugadris was about to speak words of encouragement to his children, someone hit the dreaded bell, filling the air with dread and anxiety. He pushed aside thoughts of celebration and ran up to the wooden tower they had built in their construction of this fortress. The Orc King needed a clean look over the situation so he may know what they were up against. His entire body froze, and he was not having a nightmare.
Before him was a horde of different kinds of monsters marching towards them in a stampede. Amongst them were Savage Wolves, Thorn Bulls, Gargantuan Crocodiles, Horned Bats, Fury Hawks, Malice Dogs, all kinds of monsters but none were worse than the four Earth Wyverns heading towards their direction.
What in the name of the Fallen Great Orc Emperor had caused these monsters to form a group and attack his fortress? It didn’t even have solid walls yet, just wood made from several ents. Bugadris’ thoughts rang out in pure despair, as this was his greatest challenge yet. The rebirth of the Orc Empire was at the cusp of his hands, and he was not going to let it slide.
Maybe this was a trial from the gods, to prove his worth to the world Bugadris immediately ordered the orcs to form groups that would kill the monsters but by the looks of it, most wouldn’t survive this onslaught of monsters. They had to fight furiously and be on their toes if they wanted to live. They had a few hours before the monster wave hit them, so the Orc Mages fortified the gate with massive boulders to gain an advantage over the wave. A disaster would occur if they were infiltrated.
The Orc King, Bugadris readied himself with his sword and wore his armor with a stern look on his face. This was going to be the hardest fight of his life. He had a goal that was to revive the orc empire. The humans often called orcs bipedal pigs unfit to lead anything of their own, but he was going to show them the strength of an orc, just like he would show the monster wave before him. He walked out of his tent once more and stood before the organized orcs, who were waiting for his speech.
“BUKAKAGYAHIH! BUHIHAGAI!! BUMOUGAH BUGADRIS!!” (We will not falter before this monster wave! I, Bugadris will lead us to victory!!)
The orcs raised their weapons and staffs into the air with a unified roar. It was their time to shine and become true heroes of their kind. Bugadris had managed to raise the morale of his forces.
“BUJUGAGA BUGIRUGAMAO BUSHA-?!”(Orc for: The gods are watching us, let us-?!)
The gate which was supposed to be fortified was blown off completely, what remained were burned chars of what was once a gate. Imminent shock and fear were what was written on his face, instead of them fighting completely safe from the monster wave they had been thrust into the deep fire without the gate, the first thing that leapt into the now vacant space were two oversized wolf pups accompanied by a mass of Savage Wolves. Bugadris issued an emergency order that they had to adjust to the situation and attack whatever that is coming through that gate.
The children he raised through the fires of combat tried their best to kill the Savage Wolves, but they fell to their might. These wolves were different. They were being led by wolf pups who were far younger than them. The situation had gone from bad to worse, which made Bugadris furious, as they didn’t even have time to raise morale. The monster stampede crashed through the gate with the earth wyverns charging and shattering the wooden walls into bit. He killed several monsters, gaining experience points which filled him up with a new source of energy, but it did not wipe away the bitter taste in his mouth that extensive losses were happening in this very moment.
Despite all of this, The Orc King had confidence in his self preservation skills to survive even if his children were screaming for him to save them. He would make it out alive here, even if it meant that he would have to run away like a coward. The revival of the Orc Empire rested on his shoulders. He saw an odd colored slime that jumped in his way. It was in a black coloring with red rings rippling on its surface. Just as he made the observation so he could judge if it was worth his time or not, the slime attacked! At first, it shot acid at him, which he ignored much to the error of his decision as that ate through his shield. Throwing it away and now avoiding those acid shots, he had planned on ignoring it even further, but then it fired an arrow from seemingly out of nowhere. He knocks the arrow to the side with a disgruntled voice, but then upon doing such an action, the arrow exploded.
Despite being caught in a fiery inferno, Bugadris came out unscathed if anything the anger inside of him was spilling out as he found the exact cause for all of this. He roared in fury as his plans were falling apart all because of a slime! The humiliation had conquered him thus he rushed forward to the slime which was transforming into a humanoid form to kill it.

“Operation Pork Buffet Success!”
I reverted to my dark elf form as the Orc King was running towards me with a silly looking angry face. I smiled as I nocked in the next arrow and aimed at the rushing pig, who was going to make it his job to splatter me all over the ground. I could only imagine the humiliation and anger that he had swelled up inside of him right now. Imagine steadily building a kingdom bit by bit, a castle built, troops trained to be combat worthy. Slowly leveling up and gathering resources to become a proper kingdom and then all of it comes crashing down on you because a goblin thought it would be mad funny if it led a monster wave towards you and destroyed the last bastion of security you had. My plan had succeeded much to the Orc King’s dismay.
Using my newly ranked alchemy skill, I created something akin to monster bait. Back in Sword Fantasy, a reliable method of leveling up was buying monster incense, which attracted nearby monsters to flock in the area where the incense was being burned. This was also a very effective tactic for luring those monsters into a trail and forming a monster stampede which would destroy everything in its path. Geri and Freki helped me with this challenge, which made me happy seeing that they made friends along the way. Another explosion hit the guy, and he still kept on running, making me switch to my arms, which I turned into clubs. I deflected the Orc King’s swords to the side using my left arm and punched him with my right arm creating some distance between us. I feel the shaking of the ground as a majestic roar is heard from a distance it seems Shen has begun her fight with the giant.
“Good luck, my dear friend. Now then Pig King, let’s get this show started!”
I grabbed Star Cutter MK I once more and pulled the bowstring with no arrows as a magic arrow formed instead of a physical arrow. The Orc King cut the distance between us in half and arrived where I was within moments, swinging his sword down on me. But I leap forward, standing on his blade and aiming my arrow directly at his head. I shot into his pig like face and jumped away from his thrashing body. He staggered backwards before roaring and swinging his sword wildly.
“Is that the best you can do, you fucking oversized pig?! C’mon it wasn’t even that bad!”
I dodged his sword by going to my left side and shot several more arrows at the joints in his armor, which stuck through as I detonated them from the inside. Having changed from magic arrows to explosion based fire arrows, I am sure that would hurt a ton, wouldn’t it?
The Orc King cries out in pain, but it would be a far stretch to say that would immediately kill him. I swapped my ranged combat for close distance. I kicked up the sword of a dead orc and grabbing it just in time for the Orc King to swing his sword once more. A dull thud could be heard as I barely made it in time to block his attack. Upon realizing this, a smile widens on his face. I kick up another sword which was sent flying like an arrow, which surprised him. He dodges another swing from me but sees that was a feint into something more sinister in mind. I used the dirt on the ground to blind him temporarily, which prompted him to swing his sword down on me, but I parry the great sword, sending it to the side using the orc sword I picked up. Discarding the sword as it had served its purpose, I grabbed four arrows in each hand. The great sword hit the ground, which was my chance to kick it in even further, lodging it firmly deep inside. I run up the sword, stepping on the head of the Orc King and leaping into the air. I turn around mid-air, throwing the arrows in several spots within his arms that would cause massive amounts of damage to him.
I roll away from the explosion that erupts immediately after, narrowing my eyes down to see that the Orc King was still alive despite his HP dropping into the red dead zone.
“Geez, just die already.”
“ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAARRRR!!!!”
The Orc King roared as his brown fur turned black with a black aura covering his body as it abandons his sword and stances himself with his fists.
“Ohhhhh, so cool! But what skill is that?”

【This is the same skill that the Goblin Chief had, but more advanced?! I need this skill. If he is near death, that means I have to one shot him.】
Whilst I was thinking such leisurely thoughts, he had entered my zone of attack and threw a punch which I had to dodge by a hair’s length and slid below him, leaping backwards hastily thinking of what can immediately kill him. Geri and Freki were also watching. I had to look cool for a moment here. Then it clicked, I had several new Unique Skills and one attack from my library of skills that could synchronize with them.
“Alright! It’s time to end this show!”
“GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!!”
With a vicious smirk growing on my face, I dashed forward towards the roaring blind Orc King. He threw a kick that would blow a normal person’s head clean off from their neck, however unfortunately for him, I had dodged that activating Perfect Stealth as I did so. Despite having his sight taken away from him, all his other senses were still sharp, which made this the perfect tool to use against him. It was a good thing that Alpha-Omega’s Library had just the thing I needed to kill him. A magic circle forms behind me as he restlessly searches for me. I make my presence known once again when I am at a safe distance away from and run towards him. The magic circle shines even brighter with the Orc King noticing this and turning around, but it was already too late as hard ice forms around his legs and the atmosphere begins to freeze over. In a flurry of panicked screaming and shouts he swings his fists like a child having a tantrum.
“Ice Palace of Skadi”
Immediately after, his body turns into ice as I swing the long sword of ice which was forming in my hand across the Orc King. A large slab of frozen pig falls over with followed by a sigh as I fall down to the ground as Appraisal-chan gives me an update on my level.

Despite listening to the fanfare and the announcements going off inside of my head, I still could hear the loud beating of wings as I looked up into the sky and stared at Shen, who was came to pick me up or that’s what it looked like at first.
“You really have won, surprising considering you are a frail slime. I congratulate you Yukiyo.”
“You know you can say that you were worried about me and rushed after your fight with the giant to check if I am still alright. It’s okay to show concern, Shen.”
I provoked Shen for a response given she had a rather cute side to her.
“N-NOTHING OF THE SORT!! I CAME MERELY TO GATHER THE FOOD!”
“Cute, anyway it looks like we are going to have some peace around here”
“Yes, it seems so.”
Shen looks off into the distance as if remembering something she looks at her claw and smiles.
“What level did you get? Mine is Level 168. Got new skills and an evolution, I think.”
“I am a Level 224 Water Elder Dragon,”
“Ohhhh, a fancy race title to boot!”
“You can praise me more, you know?”
She wore a smug expression on her face, which made me take the bit even further than intended.
“Oh, I am immensely sorry! O Great Water Elder Dragon Shen! Your Glory Never Ends! I Hope You Grow Into Godhood! May The Blessing Of- “
“Enough, most of it is coming off as hypocritical.”
“I will now select my race. Take care of me if I knock out. “

I glared at Shen for a solid second as she uttered my name with a sigh. I looked back at my status. Is this how the final bosses begin their insane list of skills that make us wonder where they got them? Most of my skills had undergone rank ups and upgrades, becoming even more unrestricted than before! I gazed at Shen who just stared at me, and sighed whilst looking away. I won’t look at Geri and Freki’s status. I might find out they are growing just as rapidly as I am.

I looked up to the sky and laughed a little, I was enjoying this life and I hope I get to explore more of the world. Who knows maybe in this world there are people who are stronger than me, I do not know. I will continue to level up until I become the strongest dark elf (slime) in existence.
