Chapter 19: The Following Scolding
The training room at Viridian Gym.
Busted from the station, Rope and Charmander bowed their condescending heads.
"Sorry!" "Woo~~"
Standing in front of them was Daisy, her pretty face filled with angry clouds, her eyes overflowing with rage staring at Rope dead in the face.
"Rope! I just said you're more reliable than that Blue kid, and then you pull a stunt like this! Burning down a mayor's house? What are you going to do next? Burn down the Institute? Or burn down the Indigo Plateau Conference venue!!!"
And then... she noticed Rope and Charmander looking at each other with a face like they had discovered a new world.
"You guys... really want to do this?"
Daisy figured she really couldn't move her mouth after all. Against these two guys who didn't have a normal human (Pokémon) mind, just do it.
So she held her right hand with her left hand and pressed her knuckles hard, making a "crackling" sound.
"What!"
"Didn't have that idea!"
"No way!"
Rope immediately made a triple negative, although the idea of burning down the Indigo Plateau Conference venue was creative, but... it couldn't be done. Burning that thing would be a slap in the face of the Alliance. In the past, it might have been possible to find a villainous organization to join, but right now...Team Rocket is silent and transforming, intending to turn from black to grey or even whitewash. Most of the other organizations have been wiped out because they aren't as intertwined with the Alliance as Team Rocket is, and the remaining remnants are scattered and unproductive.
Unless he create a villain organization now, he will have to flee alone if he burn down the venue. Although it is a physical journey, Rope's idea of the Fourth Natural Disaster1 is really hard to change in another world. It is difficult for you to regard a world you see in games, novels, comics and anime as real. Even if you really travel back to the past, the arrogance of knowing the past and the future will make you deeply contemptuous of this world. It is useless to know that this world is really dangerous... Some things cannot be changed by telling yourself.
But the idea of building another villain organization seemed more charged than burning down the meeting hall! His relationship with some of the Legendary Pokémons were not bad, so how about an organization that worshipped Mew and made the world fall into a nightmare and then rejoin the embrace of Mew, the ancestor of Pokémon?
Let's call it Team Mewtwo! Go friend Mewtwo and have him be the organization's first hitter. Just fool him with the argument that this organization essentially wants Pokémon and humans to be completely equal and that Pokémon can enslave humans!
Perfect!
"Thunk!!!" The sound of a fist hitting his head.
"Rope!!! You focus!!!"
Daisy's roar dragged Rope out of his daydream.
Rope covered his head, which was bulging with a large bag, and bared his teeth as he fell back on a breath of cool air, "Hiss, Daisy, go easy on me, I was just thinking about it, I wasn't planning on starting a Team Mewtwo."
Daisy's forehead was full of veins.
"Explain it to me clearly. What is Team Mewtwo !!!!"
————————————
Blue looked at Rope, who had a swollen nose and a naive-like smile on his face, dumbfounded.
"Why are you... messing with sister again?"
Rope didn't say anything, just gave a big smile and then gave a thumbs up.
Blue recalled the helplessness and thinly veiled anger he had seen on his departing sister's face when he first arrived, and knew that the beating this guy had taken had sort of taken the edge off his sister's anger, so he could only shake his head and sigh, and greeted the dojo apprentice at the doorway, asking him to find a jiggery-pokery egg or almost a doll to bring over.
Rope got a grateful look on his face.
Blue didn't have the heart to say, "Don't be so happy. I've come to reprimand you on behalf of me, Grandpa, and Red us three as well."
Rope immediately resumed his downcast look.
"Grandpa said: you should have discussed it with us, and after investigating the truth, whether it's to report it to the Alliance or to use the names of a few of us to make that Bell bow down is fine. But for you to go and burn someone else's home down like that, that's you not taking advantage of the situation. Impulsive! Reckless!"
"Red says: I know how much this kind of heart knot like thing affects Pokémon's development, but you don't have to take this kind of thing alone. It won't be your fault if everyone is together."
"I say: this solution is the stupidest solution ever thought up by stupid people!"
Blue looked at Rope, who was bowing his head like a frosted eggplant to be lectured, and was silent for a long time before speaking again.
"But the three of us, as trainers and former trainers, think you're doing the right thing."
Rope looked up.
"Together with Charmander, taking the apology you want head on is far more effective than if you had sought us out together, and it would have put Charmander truly on the same page as you, in tacit agreement."
Rope flashed a grin.
"It's a reckless act, but it's better for a trainer not to have too much on his mind when it comes to his Pokémon. It's good to be simple, even reckless. A bond congealed with a true heart is a true bond."
Blue looked at Rope with a smile on his face. He and Red and Professor Oak all thought from the bottom of their hearts that Rope had done a pretty good job this time.
"What about Charmander?" Blue asked.
"Gone to training, I said if I didn't want me to get yelled at again. Gotta get strong, so strong that we don't need the people around us to worry about us for that little thing."
Rope smiled lightly.
Blue watched lustfully.
"What? If you have something to say, it's not so bad after all those lectures." Rope said with a rather generous smile.
"Don't you smile...it's so ugly to smile with a bruised nose."
Rope: "..."
"Blue, get the hell out of here for me!!!"

Somewhere on a shopping street in Sinnoh region, Jubilife City
"Cynthia? Cynthia? What's wrong with you?"
A short-haired beauty with a handsome look and dressed in white looked at Cynthia, who was holding her cell phone with a furrowed brow, and asked in a puzzled manner.
Cynthia this time ah came back to her senses and smiled, "Nothing? Just a little something that came up."
Diantha stares at her with skepticism. Cynthia smiles and meets her eyes and after a moment sighs softly, "It's an acquaintance of mine in Kanto that had a little incident. I'll have to call and ask him. Why don't you go ahead and pick out an ice cream for me. I'll meet you over there after the call later."
Diantha smiled and made a gesture of surrender, "Forget it Missy, you'd better make the call, I'll choose the ice cream, I don't need Missy to spend more than half an hour to choose it."
With a playful smile, she walked over towards the ice cream stand not far away.
Cynthia took a deep breath and then dialed Rope's number.
"Hey Cynthia. looking for me for what? Miss me?"
Rope's playful, four-sixths-or-nothing banter came over the phone.
Cynthia frowned and asked, "It doesn't matter that you burned down that mayor's house, does it?"
Rope on the other end of the line was silent for a moment, then chuckled, "It's fine, I'm usually fine in the Kanto area as long as I'm not ravaging the Union's face on the ground. How did you know?"
"I saw Erika's update earlier, said she heard about a guy who set fire to the Viridian City Chief's house. I thought about it and guessed it was you."
"Good lord, I'm that much of an arsonist. Hahaha!"
"Don't be playful, why are you so angry?" Cynthia intensified her tone, suppressing the involuntary curve that lifted at the corners of her mouth.
Rope was silent again, then said, "I'm going to be a trainer. Recovered a Charmander that was set free and framed, went to take it out on it."
Cynthia sniffed and was silent for a moment as well, then took a deep breath and said, "Next time don't be so reckless. Find a more suitable reason and go in under the banner of an investigation. Then after that, just say that you're annoyed, or there was an altercation. Call me if you really can't find a reason, I'll find one from Sinnoh's side and just commission you to investigate."
Cynthia finished, and Rope didn't know what to say for a moment. cynthia herself knew she had blundered, and her face turned red, not knowing what to do next.
"Thanks, I'll remember that, don't worry. I won't be much more reckless."
"En, that's good, I still have to accompany Diantha shopping over here, hang up first!"
After saying that, Cynthia hurriedly hung up the phone and touched her reddened face, then looked up to see Diantha who was teasingly smiling with her ice cream.
"Yo, is Champion Cynthia shy? Tsk tsk tsk..."
"Okay! Are you still shopping or not! If not, I'm going back to work!"
"Hey, hey, hey. Don't be angry, I won't say any more, go shopping, go shopping!"
