Chapter 7: The God of Space's Morning Mood
Alamos Town was just around the corner.
Rope on Charizard's back looked at the thick fog that wrapped up the entire town, and was secretly relieved that things hadn't gotten to the point of no return.
The fog flowed, and there were vague figures and flashes of light of various colors, and it was obvious that Pokémon were being used to use their skills. Down below, by the bridge, a dozen or so trainers with their Pokémon were charging into the thick fog without any hesitation, but the next moment they inexplicably rushed out of the fog, making it puzzling to watch.
Cynthia, who was sitting behind Rope, naturally saw this scene, then tapped Rope's shoulder and reminded, "Lucian told me that they couldn't get in, and that the fog had a disorienting effect."
Rope nodded but retorted, "It's not disorienting, it's deflecting."
Cynthia was quite curious about what the deflection in Rope's mouth meant, but now that the situation was critical, there was no room for so much communication, she could only ask hurriedly, "Do you have a way to get inside?"
Rope looked at the Alamos Town that was getting closer and closer, shook his head and said, "I don't have much certainty, I can only take a gamble."
Cynthia didn't quite understand what he meant. Because Rope didn't say it all.
Rope had never been teleported by a Psychic type Pokémon. Never succeeded, to be precise. The Pokémon who tried to take him to teleport had to go off on their own, and in their own words, they couldn't feel Rope's presence in the middle of space in that moment.
This is one of the reasons why Professor Oak believes he traveled from another dimension. He didn't seem to belong in this dimension. And those in physical contact with him were likewise unable to be teleported. It was as if they were infected by him.
Rope took a deep breath, put his left hand behind his back, and said to Cynthia, "Grab my hand."
Cynthia was doubtful, but hearing Rope's firm and determined tone, she grabbed his hand without much thought. Rope didn't have the time to do anything about the situation, he put his other hand on Charizard's neck and shouted, "Charizard, go straight in!"
Charizard gave a high roar to get the attention of those on the ground to their movements, then took a dive towards the fog.
The trainers on the ground looked up at the strong Charizard and saw their champion, Cynthia, and were just about to cheer when they heard a violent wind-breaking sound in their ears as the Charizard flew past them, picking up strong air currents. Charizard flew past them, bringing with him strong air currents, and rushed into the dense fog that was still flowing slowly as if it had its own destiny.
And as those trainers looked at Charizard who disappeared into the thick fog, one of them muttered.
"Is Champion Cynthia not aware that this thick fog can't be rushed in?"
"I don't know, but it's not too late to tell her when she comes out in a little while."
They looked at each other in disbelief and could only wait, but after waiting for a while, Cynthia and the Charizard that had just rushed in didn't come out.
"Uh, is this going in, or is something wrong?"
A female trainer looked at the person who had just spoken with a disgusted face and said, "I'll be damned, Champion Cynthia who is so strong would have an accident? She should have found a way to enter the fog! Worthy of being my most admired Champion Cynthia." At the end of the sentence, there was another face of admiration.
The one who was refuted could only smile awkwardly, in fact, he also felt the same way, only that in the face of the unknown, people would always be unable to resist thinking more.
Come to think of it, how could something happen to the Champion Cynthia who was so powerful to that extent!
Then... with a flash of pink light, the thick fog in front of them dissipated, revealing Alamos Town.
The crowd beamed with joy, things seemed to have been resolved.
However, before the corners of their mouths could lift, in their perspective, Alamos Town seemed to distort for a moment and then... disappeared.
Everyone's smiles were stillborn.
"That, should we talk to the Alliance side, things... seem to have gotten big..."
————————————
Making her way through the fog Cynthia looked at Rope in surprise, she hadn't expected the guy to actually bring her in. She looked at the two of them clasping hands and suddenly realized that it wasn't what was called some kind of trick. Rather, there was something wrong with Rope as a person.
When a person used the same methods as everyone else to accomplish what others couldn't, then the problem often wasn't with the methods. For example, there are losers who shush and call it licking the dog, and men who shush and call it warming up. The same thing about drinking more hot water may get a completely different response.
In other words, it may not be the method that's the problem, but the person.
Rope here was obviously problematic, but unfortunately the occasion was not right, otherwise Cynthia would have to ask for clarification.
"Going out, watch your surroundings."
Rope's tone was a little low. It was obvious that he was also a little nervous.
Honestly, it's hard to know if you're going to live or die when you go in there.
Cynthia sniffed and nodded vigorously, using her other hand to feel Garchomp's Pokéball from her waist, then gripped it tightly in her hand.
Rope took a deep breath, then Charizard flew to the end of the bridge.
Then came the shock.
Alamos Town was shrouded in heavy overcast at this point, and the gloomy light gave the whole town a slightly macabre undertone. What's more, what was almost glued to Rope's face at this moment was a lion-like shadow suspended in the air, bubbling with pink light.
Rope was so scared that he subconsciously stood up, and Cynthia, who was lying behind him, was hit on the head by him, and at the moment of pain, she let out a cry of "ouch". Then she also saw the shadow.
"Is that, Luxray, what's going on?" Cynthia inquired, rather puzzled at this point.
"Spooky as hell." Rope muttered in a low voice, and upon hearing Cynthia's question he shook his head, "I don't really understand, but I think there's someone who should be able to answer you. But I think the main problem is over there."
He said, pointing to the location of the Space-Time Tower.
Cynthia looked over to where he was pointing and was taken aback.
There a Darkrai was slamming straight towards the gap between the two spires of the Tower of Time and Space, and then as if it had hit something, it was sent bouncing to the ground.
Then it flew up again and unleashed a powerful Shadow Ball, hitting the spot again, and Cynthia could faintly hear the roar of "Get out!".
The Shadow Ball woke up what was sleeping there.
The God of Space, Palkia, had awakened.
Cynthia looked up and saw that the clouds in the sky had completely dissipated, replaced by a twisted gray chaos that could not be called a sky.
"See? You're waking up a guy with a wake up call, they'll be damned if they won't play hard to get with you."
Rope's words made Cynthia want to spit on the guy's priorities.
But the reality of the situation left her without that mind again. Facing the God of Space who kept getting angry, she wasn't really sure she could beat the opposite side into submission.
"Do you have any ideas? It's not good news for us when the two of them fight and beat each other up."
"Coincidentally, I really just remembered what to do about this."
Cynthia looked at Rope, who had a thankful look on his face, and just felt like she had no idea what was going on in this guy's head.
Rope at this point was really glad he had a decent brain. He finally recalled the plot of that theater version pretty much after seeing this familiar scene.
"I think Dialga may come back later, and it's unlikely that Darkrai will be able to stop them. So you'll be covering for Darkrai with Charizard in a while, luring the two big brothers away from the Tower of Time." Rope forced himself to keep his words sensible, but he couldn't help but bring on the emotion of excitement in his tone.
As he was speaking on his side, before Cynthia could reply, another roar could be heard as a blue Pokémon darted out of the nothingness and aimed a Time Roar at Palkia.
The visitor was none other than Dialga, the God of Time.
Cynthia looked at the three divine beasts that had started a melee and just felt a rush of headache. Turning back to Rope, she wanted to have a word with her, but realized that Rope's body was ablaze with flames. In Cynthia's stunned gaze, Rope threw down a sentence, "My little life is in your hands, go for it, Cabbage1!!!", then turned into flames and drifted towards the Tower of Time and Space at an extremely fast speed.
For a moment, Cynthia had the urge to retire.
