A pleasant smile surfaced on Yun Che's face as he went through the notification. It has not been a few days and yet he had once again leveled up.

Yun Che scrolled to the clothes feature and changed his clothes to a new set as his previous ones were fully dyed in blood. This time he didn't wear his previous cloak.

'She's not that sensitive as she looks' thought Yun Che as he looked at Cang Yue whose complexion was a little pale.

Cang Yue lifted her head and gazed at Yun Che. Then, her vision slowly blanked out. Yun Che caught her at the right moment just before her body reached the ground.

'Phew! She's much more sensitive than she looks!'

Thinking she would weigh as a feather, Yun Che carried Cang Yue on his back. But even though with his physique, she seemed to be of more weight. If someone other than Yun Che tried to carry her, then they possibly couldn't. Maybe it's because she's a part of royalty.

Yun Che started his journey with the Phoenix people and reached the place where the Phoenix Clan lived. On the way, he was given the information of the so-called clan.

The Phoenix Clan resides in the Ten Thousand Beast Mountain Range and their small clan resides in a village close to the Phoenix Ruins. The Phoenix Ruins contains half the Phoenix Spirit that descended onto the Blue Pole Star.

An ancestor of the clan passed the phoenix trial and obtained the phoenix bloodline. They flourished into a large sect after 12 generations.

During that generation, one of the ancestors fought with someone using the power of the phoenix and the flames accidentally spread to a small town and killed thirty-two thousand innocent people.

The phoenix spirit was enraged and cursed the bloodline to be suppressed to the tenth level of Elementary Profound. Afterward, the clan hid in the mountain range next to the ruins of the phoenix for a thousand years, praying to their phoenix god that the curse can be released.

The clan serves as guardians of the phoenix ruins and their legacy. The clan can activate a special array to seal the ruins from outsiders. There is a second seal that protects the trial grounds of the Phoenix. Only those with the phoenix bloodline can open or close the seals.

At early dawn, they finally reached their destination.

Feng Baichuan, the Clan Leader of the Phoenix Clan, looking at the arriving people was delighted. He was under constant pressure these days and didn't know what to do.

His appearance and the clothes he wore were humble and the space between his brows revealed a faint touch of elegance and calm. The flame imprint upon his forehead appeared to be especially clear.

As he came to know about the whole story, he went on his knees and thanked Yun Che.

Looking at Cang Yue on Yun Che's back, he immediately arranged rooms for the duo. And offered them to take a rest. He then started making arrangements for the banquet.

Just when Yun Che put Cang Yue on the bed and covered her, Jasmine came out of the Sky Poison Pearl with a pout.

"Did you forget about this princess or what??" glared Jasmine.

Usually, Yun Che would speak to her often. But as now Yun Che was preoccupied with other things, she was bored inside the Sky Poison Pearl.

"N-no, you see, I can't talk to you when I am beside her!" said Yun Che as he pointed at Cang Yue.

"Hmph! You could have at least given a sample of your dish to this princess!" Jasmine huffed.

Even though Jasmine is still in her spiritual form, after smelling the aroma of Yun Che's cooked food, she badly wanted to get a taste of it but her aloofness prevented her from doing so. She was patiently waiting for Yun Che to let her taste it. But it now wore off.

"Jasmine, Are you perhaps jealous?" Yun Che narrowed his eyes and asked as he couldn't think of any other reason.

"Eeeh? M-m-me-e? J-j-ealous? In your dreams!" Jasmine stuttered and turned her head away from Yun Che not wanting him to see her face red.

"I will cook it only for you next time, okay?"

"Hmm.. this princess will taste your cooking then..." Jasmine smiled. As Yun Che promised her he would personally cook for her, she felt happy but didn't show it.

"She's waking up" Jasmine gave a nod and soon faded away.

"MOM!!." shouted Cang Yue at the top of her lungs and she was jolted awake from her sleep.

Looking at the unfamiliar ceiling, she grew anxious, but as soon her eyes fell on Yun Che's figure not very far from her, she calmed down.

Quickly, wiping the sweat off her body, she spoke up.

"Where are we?"

Yun Che told her the details. How he arrived at this place. And how he carried her on his back all the way. All the while, maintaining a plain face.

Cang Yue's face was beet red when she heard Yun Che saying he carried her on his back till here but taking a look at his stoic face, she finally calmed down.

"Is anything bothering you?" asked Yun Che as he felt something's wrong with Cang Yue. She would be energetic every time she speaks with him, but she now looked a bit stressed.

"N-nothing, I am perfectly fine" She replied pensively and laughed to herself as the memories resurfaced on her mind.

"If you don't want to, then don't," said Yun Che and was heading out. As his back faced her, she spoke in melancholy.

"...It's about my mother"
