Chapter 9: The summoner (one piece)
Floating in a void he regretted not listening to the Reddit atheist.
[Congratulations! You died!]
The feminine voice echoed through the void I'd been floating in for what felt like hours. My first reaction was confusion mostly because I'd spent the time singing random songs to myself just to stay sane. But this? This was new.
Wait... what?
I stared at the glowing blue text box hovering in front of me. The void must have driven me insane faster than expected. That's the only explanation for why I'm seeing this. I reached out to touch it on a whim. The surface felt like glass, smooth and cool, but thin as it was, I doubted I could break it. Not that I had anything better to do.

"...Oh, I'm so screwed," I muttered. "This is either the start of a cringe isekai or some bored god's new hobby."
Still, curiosity won out over dread. With a resigned sigh, I muttered, "Show me my status."

"Well, that tells me absolutely nothing." I stared at the screen, trying to decipher if these stats were decent or abysmal. No time to dwell on it, though, as the void around me suddenly twisted. My vision blurred, and the next thing I knew, I was standing in what looked like an abandoned apartment.
Before I could get my bearings, another pop-up appeared.
[Newbie gift box (common)]
A red box materialized before me, bursting into a short animation as it opened. Then, more text appeared.
[You received the following rewards:]
[Summoning companion token (common) X5
Gacha token X5
Gender swap token
Random skill orb X3
Gacha token - legendary tier]
I stared at the list, baffled. "Why is everything gambling-related?" I muttered. "Is this my punishment for ignoring those anti-gacha mobile game ads?"
Shaking my head, I decided to explore the apartment. Everything seemed eerily normal until I opened the door.
Nothing. Just an endless void.
I checked the windows same deal. The entire apartment was floating in a black nothingness.
Another pop-up appeared, the text somehow managing to sound smug.
[This is your hub. From here, you can select the world you wish to travel to and begin your adventures across the multiverse.]
A glowing screen hovered in front of me, displaying a list of worlds I could travel to. Each one was a universe I recognized fictional worlds I'd only dreamed of exploring.
[Select Your Starting World:]
1. Naruto
2. One Piece
3. Harry Potter
4. Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU)
5. Attack on Titan
6. Star Wars
7. Dragon Ball Z
8. The Lord of the Rings
9. My Hero Academia
10. Elden Ring
All of these were interesting, but there's only one of them that kept his attention.
[You have selected: One Piece.]
The room shifted. The apartment dissolved into light as I was pulled into a swirling vortex. I barely had time to scream before my vision went black.
The vortex spat me out with all the grace of a drunken sailor, and I found myself splashing face-first into salty water.
I flailed and gasped, the ocean dragging me under before I even had a chance to catch my breath. Panic kicked in, and I kicked back, managing to breach the surface long enough to cough up a lungful of water and curse my rotten luck.
"Why," I gasped, paddling desperately toward the shore, "didn't they at least give me a raft or something?"
The waves shoved me like a bully in a schoolyard, finally dumping me onto the sandy beach. I lay there for a moment, half-dead and drenched, before rolling over and staring at the bright, cloudless sky.
"So, this is the One Piece world, huh? Great start," I muttered, spitting out some sand.
It was only when the heat of the sun began to bake my soaked clothes that I groaned and sat up. I peeled my shirt off, wringing it out as best I could, then set it on a flat rock to dry. My pants and shoes followed, leaving me standing there in just my boxers, praying no one happened to wander by.
The beach was quiet, stretching endlessly in both directions, with the jungle's edge not far from where the sand met the trees. Seagulls squawked overhead, the salty breeze carrying their cries out to sea.
I crouched next to my clothes, staring out at the horizon. "Alright, Dante. You're alive, sort of. Now what?"
No map, no tools, no idea where or when I was in this world. For all I knew, I could be on some nameless island in the Calm Belt or ten feet away from a marine base.
I glanced at the water again, shaking my head. "This is going to suck."
Before I could dive into self-pity, a soft chime echoed in my head, followed by a familiar glowing screen.

[Find Shelter]
Objective: Locate a safe spot to rest for the night.
Reward: 100 Credits.
Penalty: None.
"Well, at least the system's not completely useless," I muttered. I stood, brushing the sand off my legs.
Open in the system, I decide to look on my stuff I got from my newbie package.
As I decided to click on one of my Summoning companion token this warning popped up
[Warning: using one of these summons a companion from the Multiverse summoning a random person to serve you however this person will still have their needs and if they die, they will die permanently like anyone else in this world]
"Fuck it," I muttered, clicking the token without another thought.
The air around me shimmered, and before I could even blink, a figure appeared in a flash of light. A girl, dressed in an outfit that looked like it came straight from an anime no surprise there. She had long, flowing hair and a confident aura that made it clear she was no ordinary person.
I blinked. She was... way too good-looking for my comfort. And the moment she materialized, a wave of power hit me like I'd just summoned a walking force of nature.
She stretched lazily, glancing around, before her eyes landed on me. There was a brief moment of silence, and then…..
"You are my summoner?" she asked, her voice a perfect mix of curiosity and a bit of disdain. She was clearly sizing me up, and I could tell she wasn't impressed by my current, less-than-heroic state standing in the sand with only my boxers on, drenched in seawater.
"Well, yeah... I guess," I said, trying to sound more confident than I felt.
She raised an eyebrow. "Interesting. I expected someone with more... presence."
I rubbed the back of my head awkwardly. "Look, I'm not exactly prepared for this, okay? I'm kind of new to the whole 'multiverse summoning' thing."
She sighed dramatically, crossing her arms, her expression softening only slightly. "Fine. You summoned me, so I suppose I'll serve you. I'm not sure how long I'll last, but I'll honor the contract."
I felt a weird sense of relief mixed with unease. "So, you'll serve me, huh?" I asked, unable to resist a smile. "Then, uh, what's your name?"
She looked at me as though I were the one who should know this already. "You really don't recognize me?"
I froze. Her appearance was familiar, but I couldn't quite place it.
The system chimed in before I could make a fool of myself any further.
[Character Summoned: Asuna Yuuki (Sword Art Online)]
[Skills: Master Swordswoman, Healing Magic, Tactical Genius]
[Personality: Loyal, Determined, Compassionate, Protective]
I stared at the screen in disbelief. Asuna... Asuna Yuuki, the heroine from Sword Art Online. And not just any version—this was the Asuna from the anime, but with all her top-tier skills.
No way. I had to be dreaming.
"Wait, you're... Asuna?" I asked, voice cracking.
She nodded with a somewhat annoyed look, clearly not impressed by my reaction. "Yes, I am. Is there a problem with that?"
I laughed nervously. "No... no problem at all."
[You have successfully summoned Asuna Yuuki. She is now your companion and will prioritize your safety and well-being.]
"Alright then," I said, rubbing my temples. "This just got a whole lot more complicated."
Asuna crossed her arms, watching me intently. "I'm not sure what your plans are, but I suggest we find shelter and figure out what this world is about".
I simply followed my other summons could come later right now. I need to concentrate on what was important.
- Asuna Yuuki -
As Asuna gathered materials for their shelter, she couldn't help but glance at her new master with a thoughtful expression.
When she was first summoned, she had expected to find someone more established, someone with experience in this sort of situation not a beginner fumbling through the basics. Yet, there was something oddly reassuring about it. Maybe it was a good sign. It showed that her summoner had good luck using a common summon token and still pulling her, one of the top-tier from her world.
She glanced at him again, taking in the details of his appearance. At first, he had looked somewhat pathetic soaked, disoriented, and standing around in nothing but his boxers. But now that she took a closer look, she had to admit, he wasn't as bad as she initially thought.
Her new master was decently tall, standing around six feet. His long black hair cascaded down past his shoulders, streaked with strands of silver. His dark blue eyes were sharp, and his skin was pale almost unnaturally so, like he spent more time indoors than he probably should have.
For someone who looked like they were about to drown in the ocean, he was actually pretty handsome.
Asuna shook her head, dismissing the thought. She was here to help him, not to admire his appearance. Besides, she had a mission to focus on. She used her SAO crafting skills to start putting together a shelter a small fortress, really, considering the situation. Her experience in that virtual world had given her the knowledge to make the most of limited resources.
After a few hours of hard work, they had a modest structure: a small room to cook in, another for sleeping. It wasn't much, but it would be enough to keep them safe for the time being.
"Alright," Asuna said, brushing off the dust from her hands as she surveyed their work. "It's not much, but it'll do for now. We can improve it as we go."
Her master, still trying to catch his breath after the day's events, gave her a tired but grateful look. "Thanks... Asuna. I don't think I could've done this without you."
She nodded, her expression softening slightly. "I'm here to help. Let's just hope the rest of this world is as manageable as this."

I let out a small sigh of relief as the system's confirmation filled the air. At least one thing was going right for me today. I quickly opened the system store, curious about what 100 credits could get me.
The store interface was clean, with categories that seemed to span all sorts of things. Skills, items, and even potential upgrades for my character were listed, though it was clear that the good stuff was way out of my budget.
I decided to simply dissipated I'd rather save more credits so I can spend more in the future and waste them all right now I thought.
As Asuna came back with will look like a massive bird I could only sigh as I looked at it. Why did I pick this world again? He remembered now an image of a certain white hair girl with horns sitting on his face appeared on his mind.
He wasn't going to die until he had fuck the shit out of yamato big ass booty.
He thought feeling slightly horny until he shook his head. That was his main goal but for now he needed to concentrate in getting to that goal.
Asuna was already getting to work, preparing the meal. With her cooking skills maxed out thanks to her time in SAO, the food she made turned out surprisingly delicious. I wasn't sure how she did it, but it was honestly the best meal I'd had in a long time.
We ate in relative silence, and once we finished, I made my way to the sleeping area a small, slightly uncomfortable corner of the shelter. I didn't have much to sleep on, but exhaustion took over. I stretched out on the floor, trying to ignore the uncomfortable sand beneath me, and within moments, I drifted off to sleep.
-later-
As the first rays of sunlight pierced through the cracks of our makeshift shelter, I stretched and sat up, still groggy from the night before. The shelter had held up well, and the sound of waves crashing outside was almost calming.
Then, I remembered.
The Random Skill Orbs.
Opening my system, I navigated to my inventory and selected the three orbs from my newbie package. Immediately, three small glowing marbles materialized in my hands, each pulsating with energy.
"Well, let's see what I've got," I muttered, holding up the first orb. Without hesitation, I crushed it in my hand.
New Skill Unlocked
[Basic Survival (Passive)]
Description: Increases your ability to forage, identify edible plants, and survive in natural environments.
"Not bad," I said, nodding in approval. If I was going to be living on islands and scavenging for supplies, this would definitely come in handy.
I moved to the second orb and broke it just as easily.
New Skill Unlocked
[Observation (Passive)]
Description: Enhances your perception of the environment, allowing you to notice details and potential threats more easily.
"Now this is useful," I said, feeling a slight tingling in my eyes. The world seemed just a little sharper colors, sounds, and movements more defined than before.
Finally, I crushed the third orb, hoping for something just as good.
New Skill Unlocked
[Quick Learner (Passive)]
Description: Reduces the time required to learn and master new skills by 50%.
"Oh, hell yes!" I grinned. This was the jackpot. In a world like this, where survival depended on adapting quickly, this skill could be the difference between life and death.
Asuna stirred in her sleeping area, sitting up and rubbing her eyes. She glanced at me with mild curiosity. "You're up early. What's got you so excited?"
I held up my hands, still glowing faintly from the residual energy of the orbs. "Just got some new skills from the system. Looks like I might not be as useless as I was yesterday."
She raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "What did you get?"
As I explained my new skills to Asuna, I noticed her expression shift. Her eyes lit up with an idea, and before I could ask what she was planning, she was already on her feet.
"I'll be back," she said simply, grabbing one of her weapons from her inventory. Without another word, she headed into the nearby forest, her movements swift and purposeful.
I didn't have to wait long. Within half an hour, she returned with a large bird slung over her shoulder the same kind we'd eaten the night before. She made quick work of cleaning and cooking it, and before I knew it, we were sitting down to a surprisingly good breakfast.
"You're scary efficient at this," I said, tearing into the roasted meat.
She shrugged. "I've had practice. You'll get there too eventually."
I gave her a skeptical look but didn't argue. Once we'd finished eating and cleaned up, Asuna stood, dusting her hands off.
"Alright," she said, turning to me with a determined glint in her eye. "Now that you've got your basic survival skills and a place to stay, it's time for you to learn how to defend yourself."
"Wait, what?" I asked, mid-stretch.
She pulled a second sword from her inventory a basic blade, but sharp and sturdy enough to do damage. Tossing it to me, she smirked. "You're in the One Piece world, Dante. If you can't fight, you're as good as dead. And since you're my summoner, it's my job to make sure you don't get yourself killed."
"I appreciate the sentiment," I said, gripping the hilt awkwardly, "but maybe we can take it slow—"
Before I could finish, she darted forward, her blade a blur as it tapped against my shoulder. I stumbled back, wide-eyed.
"No time for slow," she said firmly. "Now, let's see what you've got."
What followed was two hours of pure hell. Asuna didn't hold back, forcing me to defend against her relentless strikes. Every time I thought I was getting the hang of it, she'd switch up her technique, knocking me flat on my back or disarming me entirely.
"Keep your stance balanced!" she barked, watching as I wobbled under the weight of a swing.
"I'm trying!" I snapped, panting as I blocked another strike.
"Not hard enough." She moved faster, her sword a blur as she struck my blade. The impact jarred my arms, and I barely managed to hold on.
By the end of it, I was drenched in sweat, my arms felt like jelly, and every muscle in my body ached. I collapsed onto the ground, gasping for air as Asuna stood over me, looking far too composed for someone who had just been swinging a sword nonstop.
"Well," she said, smirking slightly. "You're terrible, but at least you're not hopeless."
"Gee, thanks," I muttered, wiping the sweat from my brow.
She sheathed her sword, crossing her arms. "You've got potential. With practice, you might actually survive a real fight someday."
I groaned, staring up at the sky. "Someday better come a lot sooner than later."
Asuna offered a hand to help me up, and despite the ache in my body, I took it.
"Same time tomorrow," she said, her tone leaving no room for argument.
Great. More pain. But deep down, I couldn't deny it—I was starting to feel just a little stronger.
XxX
Yeah, I originally wanted to make him Op as shit but decided at this approach. His system has the same store system as Tyrion, once he has credit he truly become Op but for now Dante will have to do it the old way.
