Giaccio's POV
It had been almost half an hour since Gyaccio had split up with the others. He'd been wandering around the slums trying to find someone, but so far the most he'd seen were stray cats and dogs scurrying around in the alleys.
'Oh, shit. I've been walking around for almost half an hour now, but I haven't met a single one. Are they messing with me? 'They're probably sitting somewhere laughing at me checking every fucking corner.'
- Where the fuck are you arseholes! - Giaccio shouted angrily.
He continued his search, gradually exploring more and more areas of the slum.
Looking around, he saw an old abandoned park a hundred metres away. Since he was tired of wandering between grey buildings he decided to go there.
When he arrived at the park, he saw the paths for walking in front of him were almost completely overgrown with grass. Somewhere he could see the remains of wooden benches for resting. He also saw that in this park there was a small pond, with a total diameter of almost fifty metres. And even though it was overgrown with grass, the water was quite clear.
While he was wandering in the park and admiring the local views he accidentally stepped in a pile of dog shit.
- Bitch! Oh, shit! Those were new Prada shoes! I bought them for fifty grand Jenny! Fucking stray dogs!
He started kicking the nearest more or less intact shop with his anger.
Suddenly he heard a slight rustle behind him. Turning around he saw a short guy about ten metres away from him. His hair was black and smooth, medium length. He was dressed in a black khlama with an arafat. He was also holding an umbrella.
- I've seen enough of them in my life, but you'll have to look harder to find such scumbags,' he said with a slight sneer at Giaccio, 'I was looking for someone else, but I'll kill you gladly.
- Huh, and you must be one of the Spiders. In that case, you don't have long to live.
The guy in black pulled out a small sword from his umbrella, and swung at Giaccio at great speed, but he managed to materialise his ice armour and block a few of the blows he threw.
'Damn, he's pretty fast. It'll be hard to keep up with him, but it's not really necessary. Let him attack. He'll never get through my White Album anyway.'
- Come on, you fucking midget! Attack! - Shouted Gyaccio to his opponent.
His rival swung at him again and began to deliver a series of blows with his sword. However, before he had even ten strikes, he found that his hands were covered with a small layer of ice, and the sword with which he was attacking Gyatcho had turned into a large icicle. Giaccio immediately broke his sword and struck several blows to his body, sending him flying backwards a few metres.
He immediately got to his feet, freed his hands from the ice, and watched Gyaccio.
- Hmm, that's interesting,' he said, 'So your power is freezing? Pretty good, but still weak. You're as far away from me as I am from the moon.
He started moving around Gyachcho with great speed and attacking him from all sides. All Gyaccio could do was defend himself.
Eventually he delivered a powerful blow to Gyatcho's stomach, which sent him flying back more than a dozen metres and falling straight into the pond.
'What an arsehole! You think you're stronger than me? You just came one step closer to defeat.'
Undeterred, Gyaccio immediately climbed to the surface. He then began freezing the water around him until he eventually froze the entire pond.
His opponent swung at him again and began to use the same tactics as last time. But as soon as he began to do so, Gyaccio thawed the ice around him for a moment, made a powerful kick at the water, which caused it to splash in all directions, and then froze it again.
As he expected, the water hit his opponent and immobilised him, freezing his legs and arms.
- Ha, there you go!
Gyaccio began beating him up, landing punches back and forth to his face and body. To finish it off, he grabbed his head and drove his face right into the ice, then hit him again with all his might and made him fall right under the ice.
- Well, still pretty weak! How do you feel now, you fucking arsehole?! Come on, get out of there, I know you're still alive.
As Gyaccio expected, his enemy was still alive. He crawled out from under the ice and rose to his feet. You could clearly see the anger on his face. He was very angry.
- You...' he stretched out in an angry voice, 'You just signed your own death warrant.
He began to emit an aura, and then materialised a slightly unusual armour around him. Following the armour, a large fireball materialised in the air above him, looking like a small sun. There was an incredible heat coming from this sun, causing the ice on the entire pond to melt, and Gyaccio's armour was having a hard time withstanding it.
'Shit! What the hell is that? There's an incredible heat coming from that sun. My armour won't be able to withstand it for long.'
Gyaccio thawed the ice beneath him, went underwater, and sank as deep as he could to escape this heat. But he noticed that the heat was so intense that the water began to evaporate rapidly from the entire pond.
'Is he trying to evaporate all the water to get to me? Ha, what an idiot! Come on, go ahead and do it. You have no idea how this will turn out for you.'
There was less and less water. Eventually, it was just over two metres.
Without waiting for the water to evaporate completely, Gyaccio dived to the surface. As soon as he did so, he immediately began to freeze the air around him.
He then made a leap and grabbed onto the sun, which was hovering just over two metres above the ground. As he grabbed onto it, it rapidly began to grow colder and gradually went out.
- This is impossible! - Shouted the enemy Gyaccio who was shocked by what was happening.
Eventually, the sun was completely extinguished and dissolved into the air like a vapour blob.
Then Gyaccio immediately struck the water with his hand towards his enemy and froze his lower body, leaving him no chance to escape.
Giaccio walked up to him and grabbed his hands, which began to turn to ice.
- Let me explain something to you idiot,' Giaccio said to him, 'The surface temperature of the real sun is about five and a half thousand degrees centigrade. The temperature of your sun is enough to evaporate the water in the pond, but it's less than the temperature of the real sun. Because so much water evaporated, there was a huge amount of vapour in the air, which I froze and thus cooled your already not-so-hot sun, then manually froze it. One last thing: I can not only freeze everything around me, I can lower the temperature of any object to absolute zero. And at absolute zero, all molecular motion ceases. Do you understand now? You had no chance of winning from the start!
A few seconds later, Gyaccio's enemy completely turned into an ice sculpture and collapsed to the ground.
Gyaccio himself dematerialised his White Album and started mocking his frozen enemy.
- Ha! How about that?! What were you saying about me? That it's too weak? That you're as far away from me as the moon?! What are you going to say now?! - Giaccio started laughing, but stopped right away, -Hmm, wait a minute... Walking to the moon? Walk to the moon?! What the fuck is 'walking to the moon'?! How do you even walk to the earth's satellite?! Stupid phrase! It pisses me off! You think you can just walk through space, don't you?! What are you gonna breathe, you arsehole?! What about the pressure, what about the radiation? Who the fuck are you to do this?! I stomped on your mouth, you fucking arsehole! Answer me! How are you gonna walk in space, huh?! Son of a dog! - He began to kick his frozen enemy furiously, turning him into a pile of ice shards.
Soon, he finally released his accumulated rage and calmed down.
'Phew... Okay, fuck it. I'm going to keep wandering around these slums. Maybe I'll find someone else.'
Meanwhile, at the Genii Ryodan base.
The Spider base was in one of the abandoned high-rise buildings deep in the slums. The room itself was already quite dark, but it was still possible to make out the surroundings. Predominantly, there was only a pile of rocks and rubble around. Occasionally there were some remnants of furniture. There were a couple of small old corridors with a few doors.
Illuso had just climbed out of the mirror on the ground floor and was looking around to make sure no one else was here but him. Following him out of the mirror was Formaggio, who had his arm in a plaster cast.
- Looks like no one's here. Let's get to work. - Illuso turned to Formaggio.
They took out torches and together they walked down one of the corridors. When they reached one of the doors, they opened it and went inside. Inside was a rather large room filled with a bunch of different boxes.
- And there it was, the treasure of the Auction. You stand guard Illuso, while I take care of business. - Formaggio turned to Illuso.
Illuso stood by the door and made sure that no one interfered with them, while Formaggio began to open the drawers, reduce the treasures in them and put them in his pockets.
- I wonder,' said Formaggio, 'why they didn't leave anybody to guard all this stuff? Did they have something so important to do that they had to leave?
- I don't know. But it's better for us. You wouldn't have got anyone with that hand.
- Don't give me that! Even with one arm, I could take one down.
- Of course you could. After all, you have such a strong and useful stand. - Illuso said sarcastically, making Formaggio a little angry.
- And you're like, how fucking useful are you?! Without me, you'd be stuck bringing back all that treasure. So you'd better not show off and stay on your guard, or you'll be carrying all this stuff with me.
Illuso puffed up his cheeks a little, but said nothing more and continued to stand silently. Formaggio continued opening drawers and stuffing the contents into his pockets.
When he opened one of the drawers, he found a couple of small glass containers, each containing one scarlet-coloured eye.
- Whoa! I think I found the eyes Kurapika wanted to find. Do you want to see it? - Formaggio asked Illuso.
Illuso came closer to look at the eyes.
- It's beautiful, but I've heard the price of a pair of those eyes can be as much as two billion! Holy shit! Sometimes I'm surprised at how crazy some people are to pay that much money for something like that.
Illuso walked back to the door, and Formaggio continued to look at the eyes thoughtfully. After a few seconds of staring at the eyes, he spoke:
- I am struck by something else. What strikes me is that people can actually like this kind of thing. They are ready to give mad money and enjoy the sight of human eyes, which were ripped out of a living person, who watched his loved ones being killed with these very eyes. Honestly, I'm shocked by this. I don't think the people who are interested in those eyes are healthy in the least. Man, those Spiders are crazy.
- You think they're worse than us?
- Are you kidding me? They're definitely worse than us. They're the real crazies, and we're just the Kill Team. All we did was carry out the assassination orders the organisation gave us. Politicians, businessmen, various competitors. That's who we killed. I mean, we're no saints, but it's still a hell of a lot less than what they do.
- I don't know. We're pretty brutal in our methods, too. I remember someone told me that on one mission you put a businessman in a glass of wine with a car that you had shrunk down to a very small size. After he drank the wine and went outside, you returned the car to its original size and the poor man was torn to pieces.
- I agree, that's pretty brutal. But slaughtering an entire clan for some eyes seems a lot worse to me. - Formaggio shrunk the eye containers and put them in a separate pocket.
- So we'll keep them? Aren't you afraid that the mafia won't be happy about it?
- What's the Mafia got to do with it? If anything, we can blame it on the Spiders. Say that when we found the treasure, the eyes were gone.
- Hmm, that's pretty good.
Formaggio continued opening one drawer after another and taking out the contents. Suddenly he noticed that one of the drawers was already open. Formaggio looked into it and saw a wooden box with beautifully carved patterns in it. When he opened it, he saw that there was only a pile of folded papers.
- What is this? - He picked up one of the papers and opened it, -Hmm, there are some numbers and strange words. Is it a cipher? - He took and unfolded the next piece of paper, -It's... It's... It's... No... It can't be. It can't be!
- Jesus, what did you find in there? - Illuso was surprised and went over to look, -Come on! It's... It's... It's... You're full of shit! How... How the hell is that possible?!
