Killing Cockroaches In Xianxia For Self-Preservation

6.Trying The System, News Of Long Tian

=====================================================

{Status}

[Name: Bu Cai]

[Titles: Host Of THE System, No.1 Child Of Calamity]

[Age: 3 (24)]

[Power Level (Cultivation): Mortal]

[Alignment: Lawful Neutral]

[Skills: (Finding Part-Time Jobs-Proficient), (Studying-Intermediate), (High School Subjects-Beginner), (Running-Beginner), (Persuasion-Intermediate)]

[Unique Quality: Misfortune(E-Rank) (Potential=Gold+ Rank)

[Current Target-Long Tian(S-Rank)]

=================================================

Looking at his Status the borders of Bu Cai's mouth couldn't help but twitch; The fuck did the System mean by saying finding part time jobs was his best skill?

Bu Cai felt slightly insulted but didn't dwell on it any longer once he saw his misfortune.

The GOLD+ potential really made him question how in the fuck could someone even have such a level of misfortune and why it had to be him?

He already knew about the absurdness of Long Tian's fortune which was only a measly S-Rank.

So how horrifying would Gold+ rank misfortune be? Just the thought of it scared him.

He then asked about the skills proficiency ranking to which the system replied,

[Responding to Host, the proficiency is divided from lowest to highest; Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, Proficient, Expert, Master, Grandmaster, Exquisite, Perfection and God]

(Bu Cai POV)

After getting over my obscene potential for misfortune and making sense of the proficiency tiers, I got up from bed and decided to try out the other functions of the system.

To do so, I walked over to my large wooden cupboard that contained my multiple robes and shoes. I then focused on it and used [Identify].

A screen appeared in front of me with information,

=========================================================

{Identify}

[Item: Cupboard]

[Material: Minor Spirit Ebony Wood]

[Rank F-]

[Extra Information: Sourced from a young minor spirit ebony tree that began to have small traces of Qi. Was then made into a cupboard by a craftsman with [Wood Crafting-Expert] and then sold to Spirit Sword Sect. Currently Host's cupboard]

===============================================================

Checking the information, I was quite surprised that the material was actually Spirit Wood.

Although F-Rank makes it seem unimpressive. This cupboard alone is worth a fortune.

For peasants, the cost of it would amount to around 20 years of hard labour for them.

Qi in materials, from what i have learned from reading books and asking my mother and father, can make them be more durable and strong and once it reaches a certain level it can gain special attributes to further enhance it.

Furthermore, if it has acquired a large amount Qi and has lived long enough it can gain sentience and can cultivate.

Just Imagining a walking Treeman or talking stone makes me curious and a bit nervous.

How fucked would you be if you took a piss on a tree then 10 years later that very same tree ends up slaughtering everything you love and then proceeds to piss on your corpse?

Anyways, I then lie back down on the bed and ring the bell next to me, which indicates for a servant to come over.

I will ask for some Multi-Coloured Southern Chicken and Jade Blue Sea Rice (My favourite food combination) as a guise to try the final System function, [Analyse].

Soon enough, a maid with short black hair and decent looking face dressed in servant attire came in and she bowed with perfect servant etiquette.

Still a bit not used to formalities I said to her,

"Emm, could you get me some tea and multi-coloured southern chicken and jade blue sea rice please?"

Looking at me a bit strangely she said,

"As Young Master wishes but there is no need to speak politely as I am a mere servant"

Using this opportunity I use [Analyse] and simultaneously reply in a more impolite way,

"Okay, Now hurry up and Go"

She bowed once again then hurried off to carry out my orders whilst I looked at the information in front of me,

========================================================

{Analyse}

[Name: Yong]

[Age: 23]

[Cultivation: Body Refining, Stage Three]

[Skills: (Tea Making-Intermediate), (Cleaning-Intermediate), (Etiquette-Intermediate)]

[Background]

(Unavailable Due to insufficient Cultivation)

===========================================================

After Seeing that it isn't very detailed, I ask the System what cultivation I must be to find out about Background,

[Responding to Host, you must be at least the same cultivation to get a bit on background. For individuals with more complex and important backgrounds, it may require you to have a higher Cultivation than the individual [Analysed]. It changes from individual to individual hence there is no specific level that will ensure access to background.]

After understanding this, I close my eyes and think about all the applications of these, and ways I can use them.

Until I smell the beautiful aroma of the Multi-Coloured Southern Chicken and Jade Blue Sea Rice.

Once Yong enter with it, I quickly take it and start digging into the juicy and tender chicken slices and fluffy and soft rice.

Afterwards I fall asleep satisfied.

(2 Years later)

(Training Court Of Elder Bu's, Living Quarter's)

A young boy is seen running laps around the relatively large training court (Imagine the size of half a Football Pitch).

He is seen panting heavily and his legs are trembling whilst running.

After finishing the run he instantly falls to the ground whilst is covered in sweat.

He has, shoulder length Black hair, a very cute face that still has baby fat and deep black eyes. A middle aged man with similar features as the little boy walks over  and an approving smile can be seen on his face.

These two are both Bu Cai and his Father, Bu De.

Bu De looks down at the tired Bu Cai and says with a slightly surprised tone,

"Although you are my son, Cai'er and have naturally inherited my unparalleled talents. You have exceeded my expectations and ran an impressive number of laps considering it is your first run. I must say, I am impressed!"

Bu Cai looks back at his father and says with a proud smirk,

" Naturally, as your son, I must be able to exceed your expectations as it would be a failure if I am within the expectations of an old man"

Hearing Bu Cai's response he replies,

"Although you have indeed exceeded my expectations, I must let you know that I am not an Old man, you brat, and that you also need to humble yourself. Currently you are far inferior to the newly rising prodigy, Long Tian.

"He is the son of the infamous Marquis Long who is a respected figure at the Martial King realm, and naturally is very talented!"

Bu Cai hearing his father mention Long Tian, he feigns ignorance and asks for more information,

"How am i inferior to this so-called Prodigy Long Tian?"

"And how could Marquis Long be so respectable if i have never heard you mention him once over the years?"

Hearing that, Bu De walks over and smacks Bu Cai on the head then says reprimandingly,

"Long Tian is someone who has currently reached Adept Phase in a beginners sword art and can easily run 10x as much as you without breaking a sweat. Whereas his father Marquis Long is a mighty figure who can flatten mountains! How would I ever be in the position of talking about people like that!"

Hearing about Sword Mastery levels, Bu Cai asks his father inquisitively,

"What does Adept Phase represent for a sword technique?"

...

(Thanks for reading this chapter, Just a reminder that feedback and suggestions would be helpful as this is my first time writing and would like to know if my, descriptions are clear, If the pacing is alright, and anything else that could be improved on or implemented that may make the story better.)

(I'll then attempt to improve it for next chapter)
