Laid-back Highschooler In Bleach (With Soul Cube)

Ch38- Isshin’s Concerns

As the dragonfly rested on Orihime's finger, the other girls watched with a mixture of awe and curiosity. Tatsuki, Chizuru, Michiru and Yoruichi exchanged glances, each wondering if they, too, could share in this magical moment.

Noticing their interest, Kai decided to indulge them. Though he was generally lazy and preferred to avoid trouble, he couldn't deny the happiness that filled him at the sight of Orihime's tearful smile. He wanted to bring that same joy to the others.

With a gentle nudge, he encouraged the red dragonfly to fly away from Orihime's finger. Then, he focused his soul energy, flaring it slightly to attract more of the beautiful insects.

Within moments, a small swarm of red dragonflies surrounded the group, their vibrant wings shimmering in the light of the fireworks. Tatsuki, Chizuru, Michiru and Yoruichi stared in wonder, their eyes wide with amazement.

Kai guided the dragonflies to each girl in turn, allowing them to experience the same wonder and delight that Orihime had felt. As they marveled at the delicate creatures, their laughter and exclamations of joy filled the air.

Chizuru couldn't help but giggle as a dragonfly perched on her finger. "Kai, this is amazing!" she exclaimed, her eyes sparkling with happiness. "How did you know how to do this?"

Kai flashed a mischievous grin, his eyes sparkling with amusement. "I have my secrets," he teased, causing Chizuru to pout playfully. He knew that his avoidance of trouble wouldn't necessarily extend to his relationships with the girls, and he was more than willing to take a little extra effort to make them happy.

With the red dragonflies still fluttering around them, Kai focused his attention on each of his girlfriends, making sure to give them the love and care they deserved. He began with Tatsuki, who was still staring at the dragonfly perched on her finger with wonder.

"You look beautiful with that little friend of yours," Kai murmured, leaning in to brush his lips against her cheek. Tatsuki blushed, her eyes shining with happiness.

"Thank you, Kai," she whispered, her voice filled with emotion. "I never thought I could be this close to something so magical."

Kai chuckled softly, his eyes full of warmth. "You deserve all the magic in the world, Tatsuki," he assured her, giving her hand a gentle squeeze.

Next, he turned to Michiru, who had a dragonfly perched on her shoulder. She looked at him with a shy smile, her cheeks flushed with excitement. "Kai, this is so incredible," she murmured, her eyes wide with awe.

"I'm glad you're enjoying it, Michiru," Kai replied, his voice low and tender. He reached out, gently tucking a strand of her hair behind her ear. "You have such a kind and gentle heart. It's no wonder the dragonflies are drawn to you."

Michiru's blush deepened, and she looked down, overwhelmed by the compliment. "Thank you, Kai," she whispered, her voice barely audible.

Kai smiled warmly, pressing a tender kiss to her forehead. "You're very welcome, Michiru."

He then shifted his attention to Chizuru, who was grinning broadly as she played with a dragonfly that had landed on her hand. "Kai, you really are amazing," she said, her eyes sparkling with delight. "I can't believe you managed to pull this off!"

Kai grinned, leaning in to brush his lips against her cheek. "You give me too much credit, Chizuru," he teased. "It's really the dragonflies that are doing all the work."

Chizuru giggled, shaking her head. "Still, it's pretty impressive," she insisted. "And it's just one more reason why I adore you."

Kai's smile softened, and he pulled her in for a gentle hug. "I adore you too, Chizuru," he murmured, his voice filled with affection.

Lastly, he turned his attention back to Yoruichi, who was still sitting on his lap. Her eyes were filled with wonder as she watched the dragonflies flit around her, her earlier pout all but forgotten.

"Yoruichi," Kai murmured softly, "you look absolutely enchanting surrounded by these dragonflies."

Yoruichi glanced over her shoulder, her eyes meeting his. "Well, I have you to thank for that, don't I?" she replied, her voice teasing.

Kai chuckled, wrapping his arms around her waist and pressing a gentle kiss to her nape. "I suppose you do," he agreed. "But you're the one who makes the scene truly magical."

Yoruichi's eyes softened, and she leaned back against him, resting her head on his shoulder. "Thank you, Kai," she whispered. "For this, and for everything."

As they got up to visit the vendors after playing with red dragonflies, Isshin called out Kai's name, telling him there was something he wanted to talk to him about. Kai turned to the girls and told them to go ahead, assuring them that he would catch up. Yuzu and Karin looked at their father in shock, never having seen him so serious. He usually acted goofy and ridiculous. Kai followed Isshin away from the group, his curiosity piqued by the man's unusual demeanor.

"First of all, I want to thank you for saving my daughter from that Hollow," Isshin began, his voice sincere and filled with gratitude.

Kai waved his hand dismissively, a small smile on his face. "It was nothing, really. I'm just glad I could help."

Isshin's eyes narrowed, becoming serious as he looked deep into Kai's eyes. "But you shouldn't have involved Karin in this world," he said, his voice firm and resolute.

Kai sighed, remembering the conversation he'd had with Ichigo about the same topic. "As I told Ichigo, Karin could already see Hollows and had spiritual awareness. Sooner or later, she would learn the truth. Lying to her wouldn't have been an option. Being honest and warning her to be cautious is better, don't you think?"

Isshin frowned, considering Kai's words carefully. "I understand your point," he admitted, his voice hesitant. "But as a father, I can't help but worry about my daughters getting involved in such a dangerous world."

Kai nodded, empathizing with Isshin's concern. "I get it. If I were in your position, I would probably feel the same way. But at the same time, I think it's important to trust that Karin can handle herself. She's a strong and capable young woman."

Isshin sighed heavily, his shoulders slumping. "You're right," he said, his voice filled with resignation. "I just... I've already lost my wife to this world. I can't bear the thought of losing my daughters as well."

Kai placed a comforting hand on Isshin's shoulder, his eyes filled with understanding. "I know it's not easy, but you have to believe in them. Karin and Yuzu are both strong and smart, just like their mother was. They can handle themselves, and they have people around them who care and will protect them."

Isshin looked at Kai, his eyes searching the younger man's face for any sign of deception. "Do you really believe that?" he asked, his voice wavering slightly.

Kai nodded, his gaze unwavering. "I do," he said, his voice firm and resolute. "And I promise you, as long as I'm around, I'll do everything in my power to keep them safe."

Isshin stared at Kai for a moment, his eyes searching the younger man's face for any hint of insincerity. Finally, he let out a heavy sigh, his shoulders slumping in relief. "Thank you," he whispered, his voice thick with emotion. "That means a lot to me."

Kai smiled softly, giving Isshin's shoulder a reassuring squeeze. "You're welcome," he murmured. "Now, let's go back to the others and enjoy the rest of the evening, shall we?"

Isshin nodded, wiping at his eyes with the back of his hand. "You're right," he agreed, his voice thick with unshed tears. "Let's go."
