Chapter 40 - Chapter 40: Advanced Dungeon of Charlois
Chapter 40: Advanced Dungeon of Charlois
“Ahh ♡ So exhilarating ♡”
Carol-san is leaning out of the carriage window, excited. It’s dangerous!
“Sorry, Alexi-kun… She’s a bit tomboyish…”
Beside the driver’s seat, Professor Kabaneru looks distant. He seems to be truly unlucky in love. Not just in love, throughout the loops, he has faced various hardships. Maybe he didn’t allocate values to luck in hidden parameters. Don’t worry.
The enemies in the advanced dungeon are quite tough. This is a reptile dungeon, in other words, a Jurassic Park-like place. Since it’s a maze-type, small-sized carnivorous dinosaurs appear abundantly as trash mobs, and each of them is swift, fierce, and quite powerful. I’m cheating with magical tools and magic stones, but for a normal adventurer, solo conquest would be impossible.
Fortunately, this place is unpopular, meaning no one else is around. In fact, the Clarac territory itself is sparsely populated… No, it’s a naturally rich and peaceful place. The Adventurers Guild is inside the town hall, and it has more of a vibe of a hunting club, where adventurers sell the magical beasts they encountered in the mountains rather than a bustling guild. Naturally, there are hardly any adventurers, no guild staff in front of the dungeon, and no encounters with other adventurers.
That’s why it’s possible. While speeding through the dungeon in a carriage, I unreservedly use the reptiles’ weakness attribute, “Ice Spear Icicle Lance.”
Dodo-dodo-dodo.
Scattering icicles like a Gatling gun, we raced through the dungeon.
Even though it’s considered advanced, I think it leans more towards super-advanced difficulty. Moreover, it’s an unpopular dungeon on the border. The roughly drawn map was at the guild, but it’s more like notes from an A-rank party that challenged it decades ago, not thoroughly explored. They seemed to have cleared it, but only half of the members survived. Quite a sacrifice.
“We need to be on high alert.”
Lunchtime camp. Professor Kabaneru says with a serious expression, but Carol-san doesn’t listen.
“What are you saying, Nii-sama? We’ll keep racing until the end! Right, Alexi-san?”
However, this place, although each floor is not that large, apparently extends to the 50th underground floor. I don’t know if we can go around it in a day. If it were just me, I could go all the way to the end with an overnight stay. If I find a Monster House on the way, I might even do something about it.
“To conquer it, you need permission for an overnight stay. Let’s turn back here today.”
With determination, I suppress Carol-san, who persists, and we quietly returned home that day. However, that night, Carol-san obtained permission for an overnight stay through a “discussion” with the Baron, and the next morning, she appeared at the Viscount’s residence with a bright smile.
No one could stop her anymore in Charlois.
We easily cleared the advanced dungeon in a two-day, one-night stay. The boss room on the 50th floor had a high ceiling, and inside was a boss resembling a Tyrannosaurus, but I holed up in the fortress Citadel with Stone Wall Level 10 and bombarded it with Stone Bullets Level 10 Railgun. With high firepower from a safe distance, it was a one-sided game.
Honestly, if I tried my best, it wouldn’t have been an impossible journey to clear in one day. However, with plenty of time, we stayed overnight in the safe zone on the 40th floor. We finished it the next morning. Just in time for the boss battle, my level reached 83, a bit early, but it’s a nice round number, so we finished. The stats for the remaining two are as follows:

Both of them have grown quite a bit. If it’s the shallow layers of intermediate, the two of them could enjoy leveling together. And since the professor has learned excavation at Landscape Lv4 and soil removal at Lv5, I hope they make full use of it in agriculture. My role is done.
“So, I’ll distribute the drops from these past 5 days.”
Two days in intermediate, three days in advanced. It was an intense 5 days. Mainly their lovey-dovey moments and my efforts. As usual, they hesitated to take their share, but considering it as an engagement celebration, they accepted only the contents of the boss’s treasure chest, “Dino Knuckle,” and 500,000 gold. Dino Knuckle is a pair of gauntlets, also serving as a decently defensive shield, so it should be useful for Carol-san.
“How did you manage to get these drops while driving around in that carriage?”
“That’s a trade secret.”
“Oh, sorry. It’s a secret about adventurer abilities, right?”
“But what about these materials?”
“Normally, I would sell them to the Adventurers Guild to raise my rank, but I don’t want to stand out, so I keep them in storage.”
Yeah, this is the dilemma. In the first loop, I aspired to be an adventurer and raised my rank up to a certain point, but it all resets in just 3 years. In the second loop, I learned magical tool crafting, but what’s mostly needed for magical tools is magic stones and mithril alloy. Most of the drop items have no use.
“Well, how about taking them directly to an alchemist without going through the guild?”
“Huh?”
Unexpectedly, a killer suggestion came from Professor Kabaneru. An alchemist?!
