Chapter 117: Angel's Blessing
It took Rosen only a day to sell off his goods, but it took him two days to spend the money.
First, he purchased extraordinary residences, increasing the number of citizens in his Divine Domain to 500. Then, he acquired a large number of skill crystals. While he couldn't equip every citizen with a full set of skills, at least the elites among them were fully armed from head to toe.
One early morning, Rosen decided not to visit the trade market like in the previous days.
After several days of trading, there were hardly any valuable items left at the market. The truly valuable items were usually sent to the Blue Whale Royal City Auction House instead of being traded in the open market.
Rosen arrived at the auction house early, securing a good seat and waiting for the auction to begin.
At 9:00 AM, the auction officially started.
The items being auctioned were presented in ascending order of value, from low-level to high-level sequences. All bids were placed through their identity cards, meaning there were no disputes or petty conflicts over who won an item. The process ran smoothly and lasted the entire day, leaving everyone satisfied.
Rosen also managed to obtain two valuable items. The first was a Sequence 7 hunter skill crystal. The second was a rare and peculiar angel feather.
This angel feather, if whole, would have been a Sequence 3 treasure, far beyond Rosen's reach. However, the feather he had obtained had been drained of all its spiritual and divine power, leaving it as nothing more than an exquisite decorative item of mere aesthetic value.
Despite its diminished state, Rosen still spent 100,000 spirit crystals to secure it.
He wasn't just spending out of vanity or because he admired its beauty. What intrigued him was that, despite the feather's loss of spiritual power, his Virtual Vision couldn't scan it—suggesting there was more to it than met the eye.
Once back at the hotel, Rosen immediately brought the angel feather to the Mysterious Study Room.
If there was any remaining divinity within it, the Main God Computer would surely detect it.
He placed the feather on the computer's interface. No reaction. He had no choice but to check the feather's information using the Main God Computer.
At first, Rosen was disappointed. The description confirmed that its divinity and sacred power had indeed been depleted.
But as he continued reading, his eyes lit up.
This wasn't just any ordinary angel feather. It had been voluntarily plucked by the angel, imbued with a divine blessing.
Though the divinity and sacred energy had been consumed, the hidden divine blessing remained dormant, waiting to be activated. Once triggered, this blessing could be bestowed on any living being or extraordinary artifact.
For a living being, the blessing could instantly heal mortal injuries, raise the level of holy-type skills, create a protective barrier strong enough to withstand a demi-god's attack, or unleash an attack equivalent to a demi-god's strike.
For an extraordinary artifact, the blessing could enhance its power or eliminate its side effects.
A Sequence 3 divine blessing like this was worth at least 50 million spirit crystals.
Such a rare treasure made Rosen hesitate—no matter where he used it, it would be hard to decide.
However, the Main God Computer provided him with a suggestion that solved his dilemma.
In Masadora, Rosen took out a card from his collection: Archangel's Breath, an SS-ranked designated card.
To convert this card into an extraordinary artifact, it required a staggering 1 million spirit crystals. Though a one-time-use item, once activated, it could fully heal even a Sequence 5 from most fatal injuries, as long as their extraordinary core and soul remained intact. Physical injuries could be healed almost instantly.
This card was arguably one of the most valuable items in the entire Greed Island game.
However, exchanging it wasn't so simple. In addition to the crystal cost, it also required a substantial amount of nen energy stored within Greed Island—roughly a year's worth of accumulated energy from all the players.
But if Rosen fused the angel feather into the transformation process and applied the divine blessing, the resulting extraordinary artifact would no longer be single-use. Instead, it would gain the ability to recharge over time. Even the card's healing limit, originally capped at Sequence 5, would rise to Sequence 3.
Without hesitation, Rosen began the transformation, infusing the angel feather into the designated card.
Several hours later, a silver card adorned with an angelic symbol was all that remained in his hand.
[Angel's Blessing: Extraordinary Artifact]
[Rank: Sequence 4]
[Property: Can summon a sustained presence of an angelic nen-beast once per day.]
[Abilities: Holy Affinity—During the angelic beast's presence, all nen energy gains divine properties.]
Rosen activated Angel's Blessing, and a miniature angel, no bigger than his thumb, appeared in his hand.
He immediately felt a change in the nature of his nen energy.
With the holy attribute, his nen energy now had powerful healing capabilities for himself, and against undead or dark entities, it would deal double damage.
He tested the consumption rate and found that maintaining the angelic beast required very little energy. He could keep it active all day if needed.
However, activating its healing powers would consume his spiritual nen energy significantly. The upper limit of its healing abilities was directly tied to his maximum nen energy. At best, he could instantly heal a Sequence 7 mortal injury using it.
Though the artifact had become a permanent extraordinary tool, its power was still limited by his own Sequence level. Nevertheless, Rosen no longer needed to worry about obtaining physical healing skills until he reached Sequence 3.
He carefully stored the Angel's Blessing alongside his Holy Grail Knight tarot card.
Over the next few days, Rosen expanded his Divine Domain's population to 500 citizens, and soon, all of them would complete their Sequence transfers.
He provided enough resources to bring them up to Sequence 8, but after that, even as his citizens, they would need to hunt extraordinary creatures, kill ash lifeforms, and fight spirit realm entities to gather their own resources for further growth.
By continuing to develop under this system, his Divine Domain would soon become self-sustaining and gradually expand, eventually providing him with substantial returns as they progressed to higher sequences.
Becoming a demi-god involved the transformation of one's spiritual energy into divine essence.
It was becoming increasingly clear to Rosen that while human Sequence pathways didn't necessarily require faith, possessing it could greatly smooth the journey. The ultimate form of his Divine Domain would be the legendary Divine Kingdom.
However, that was a concern for the distant future. Now that his Divine Domain was on the right track, Rosen decided to shift his focus back to his own cultivation.
