Chapter 47: Chapter 47: The Way Out

As the God-King who unified the Nine Realms, Odin had lived for tens of thousands of years. Although his life force was nearing its end, his divine power had not diminished.

At this moment, Odin was at his strongest, but due to his waning vitality, he could not escape the inevitable fate of dying peacefully in his old age.

For someone as illustrious as him, this was perhaps the best possible ending.

Though Odin himself was approaching the end of his life, his wife, Frigga, still had many years left to live. Odin could not bear to see her die prematurely.

Han Yu pondered silently. He was well aware of the extent of Odin's power.

In this universe, referred to as the "Prime Universe," Odin was the most powerful god on the surface. The other entities, such as the Five Creation Gods or the Celestials, showed no interest in competing for his position.

Aside from these figures, Odin was practically the strongest in the universe. Yet now, he was willing to sacrifice all his divine power in exchange for a chance to bring his wife back to life. The price was unimaginably high.

Thor hesitated to voice his doubts, suspecting that Han Yu lacked the ability to resurrect the dead. Yet he stopped himself, holding onto a sliver of hope—because the person lying lifeless before him was his mother.

Looking back at Han Yu, Thor saw no signs of helplessness or refusal on his face. Instead, Han Yu wore an expression of deep contemplation. Thor's heart skipped a beat. "Could it be that he really has a way to save Mother?"

"I have no interest in your divine power," Han Yu said, breaking the silence. "But to heal her, I'll need to draw from it. Afterward, you may become an ordinary old man—your wife too. Are you sure you want to proceed?"

Han Yu was not someone driven by greed. While Odin's divine power was undoubtedly immense, Han Yu didn't pursue power for the sake of its strength. He had his own principles and preferred not to disrupt the timeline unnecessarily.

"I agree," Odin said resolutely.

For the chance to spend even a little more time with his wife, he was willing to pay any price.

"Very well."

Han Yu nodded. The method to revive the dead was something he possessed, but it was a process that touched upon the boundaries of life and death—a sacred domain. Life and death should never be taken lightly, as dismissing their significance would diminish the deterrence of mortality.

Fearlessness in the face of death could manifest in noble ways, like heroic warriors sacrificing themselves for their nation. But it could also turn into something dark, like criminals who disregard the value of life.

Using all of Odin's divine power as a bargaining chip, the once-mighty god would become a mortal, perhaps with only a decade or so left to live. Still, it was better than the current situation.

"Let's begin."

Han Yu's eyes suddenly glowed green as he used the energy of the Green Lantern to guide the process, channeling Odin's divine power to heal Frigga's wounds.

The Green Lantern ring could heal injuries. Minor wounds could be repaired with pure Lantern energy, but more severe cases required the wielder's direct intervention.

As Han Yu worked on healing Frigga, he simultaneously drew upon Odin's divine power.

Jane, unable to sense divine power, stood unaware of what was happening. But Thor, watching closely, was in tears. He could clearly feel his father's once-abundant divine power draining rapidly. Within minutes, Odin's power had already diminished to a level weaker than Thor's own.

Thor remained silent, unwilling to interrupt, because he could see his mother's wounds healing before his very eyes.

Even Odin, stoic as ever, could not contain the surge of emotion as he watched his beloved come back to life. He understood that such severe injuries were beyond the capabilities of Asgardian medical technology to mend.

Frigga's complexion grew better and better as Odin's divine power gradually drained away. Five minutes later, Frigga's wounds were fully healed, while Odin's divine power had completely dissipated.

"I... I'm alive again?"

Frigga touched the area where she had been gravely injured, only to find it flawless as if nothing had ever happened.

Before she could ask further, Odin embraced her tightly, and the two held each other close.

"Brother, thank you!"

Thor patted Han Yu on the shoulder, looking at him with genuine gratitude before quickly heading toward Odin and Frigga.

Han Yu smiled. Thor's gesture was a clear sign that he had set aside all previous grievances and was now sincerely thankful.

"Odin has lost his divine power. Compared to the original timeline, this is effectively the same as his death. This means Hela, the Goddess of Death, will likely break through Odin's seal and return to Asgard," Han Yu thought, narrowing his eyes.

He glanced at Thor's joyous expression, knowing Thor was still unaware of the challenges that lay ahead.

In this universe, Hela was Odin's firstborn child and Asgard's executioner, second in status only to Odin. She had followed him for millennia, conquering realms.

Hela could draw an endless supply of power from Asgard. While in Asgard, her strength was second only to Odin's. After unifying the Nine Realms, her ambition grew to enslave them entirely.

Her unchecked ambition forced Odin to banish her to Hel, sealing her away forever.

But if Odin were to die, Hela would be free to return to Asgard. And now, with Odin effectively powerless, her return was imminent.

"It's time to leave and settle the score with those Dark Elves," Han Yu said, patting Thor on the shoulder.

"How are we supposed to go? Asgard's protective barrier has been breached, and the Asgardian guard must stay here to defend the city. Otherwise, Asgard will be left completely vulnerable," Thor replied with a frown.

He was frustrated. The fire of anger burned within him—though his mother had been revived, it didn't erase the fact that the Dark Elves had killed her. Malekith had to die!

"We'll go by ourselves. There's no need to involve the Asgardian guard," Han Yu suggested, knowing Thor would want to join him. A smaller group would make for a more effective strike.

"Alright. I'll speak to my father," Thor agreed, jogging over to Odin. "Father, I believe we should take the initiative. I want to go to the Dark World and settle the score with Malekith!"

"No. The Aether is in our possession. They will come to us," Odin replied, shaking his head.

Thor grew agitated. "This time, we suffered heavy casualties. If they regroup and attack again, they'll destroy us completely!"

Odin met Thor's gaze and said firmly, "You overestimate their power."

"They don't have the Aether right now, so their damage is limited. I plan to go to the Dark World, use Malekith to extract the Aether from Jane, and then destroy it immediately. That way, Asgard won't have to bleed again!"

Thor's impassioned words reflected his determination. He had already decided how he would deal with Malekith, ready to leave as soon as Odin approved.

"I do not agree. If you fail, the weapon will fall into our enemies' hands. My decision is final. You will stay in Asgard," Odin declared, cutting off further debate. He turned and left, leaving Thor standing there, fists clenched in frustration.

"Well, it seems your father disagrees. So, how are we going to get there?" Han Yu asked, stepping out from the shadows. Without knowing the exact location, even his shop's teleportation scrolls were useless.

"There's someone who can help us," Thor replied.

"Who?"

"My brother, Loki!"
