Marvel: Beginning with the Collection of Shinra Tensei

Chapter 55: Chapter 55: Returning the Mind Stone

Han Yu had plenty of ideas for the future development of the game. While the gaming industry in the Marvel universe was underdeveloped, their advancements in computer technology were at least a century ahead of what Han Yu had experienced in his previous life.

He wasn't concerned about GTA suffering from poor sales due to its memory requirements. The problem was that the current games were so lackluster that there was no need for high-end computers, which meant most players didn't invest in powerful setups.

"Boss, about the Avengers' licensing issue—how are you planning to secure their rights? Or should we resolve it with force?"

Ultron raised his massive fists as he spoke. One of the planned GTA DLCs was based on the Avengers, and releasing it to the public would require their permission.

Ultron didn't dwell much on the matter. If permission wasn't granted, then a fight would suffice.

He was confident. The previous version of himself, with a weaker body, had already been a formidable opponent for the Avengers. Now, with his upgraded Uru-metal-enhanced form, it was practically impossible for them to defeat him.

Han Yu replied, "Oh, I almost forgot about this. I can handle it. Actually, I just remembered—I need to visit Stark."

"Why Stark?"

"To return something," Han Yu said, snapping his fingers. The golden Mind Stone appeared in his hand. "I don't need this anymore, so I'll return it to him. While I'm at it, I'll help him create something."

The Infinity Stones held no particular value for Han Yu. He had collected them solely to complete a system task. Apart from the Reality Stone, which he could keep, the Mind Stone could be returned to Stark to enable him to finish what he was originally meant to create.

Han Yu was referring to Vision, an ultra-intelligent android that, in the original timeline, was a fusion of Stark's and Banner's intellect, the Mind Stone, and Ultron's design.

In the Marvel comics Han Yu was familiar with, Vision was a remarkably powerful Avenger. However, his portrayal in the movies, limited to phasing and shooting lasers, had been disappointingly underwhelming.

Ultron nodded. Due to Han Yu's interference, Vision's creation had yet to begin, so Ultron was unaware of what Vision's existence would entail.

After briefly explaining the finer details of the DLC development, Han Yu drove toward Avengers Tower.

"Hmm, no one's picking up?"

On the way, Han Yu tried calling Stark's phone but got no response.

Upon arriving at Avengers Tower, the security guard at the entrance, familiar with Han Yu from his previous visits, greeted him politely.

"Hello. Is Mr. Stark upstairs?" Han Yu asked.

"Mr. Stark? Haven't seen him for several days now," the guard replied.

After thanking the guard, Han Yu turned back toward his car. If Stark wasn't at Avengers Tower, he might be at his residence. And if not there, well… perhaps at some woman's place.

When Han Yu reached Stark's house, the lights were on. He knocked on the door for quite some time, but no one answered. Finally, using the power of his Green Lantern ring, he discreetly unlocked the door without causing any damage and walked in casually.

The door to Stark's underground workshop was similarly bypassed.

As soon as he entered the workshop, the strong smell of alcohol hit him.

"Stark, why are you lying here?"

Han Yu noticed a hand sticking out from behind a work chair. Walking closer, he found Stark sprawled out, limbs akimbo.

"Oh, Han Yu! Hello! What brings you here? Are you here for the party too…?"

Stark's slurred speech made it obvious he was heavily intoxicated. The workshop was eerily quiet, with no trace of any party having taken place.

"Stark, you're drunk. Come on, lie down properly first," Han Yu said, helping him up.

Han Yu moved Stark to an open space, grabbed a nearby blanket, and covered him. To prevent Stark from waking up and causing a drunken commotion, Han Yu knocked him unconscious in one swift motion—he wouldn't be waking up until the following afternoon.

"JARVIS, what happened to him?"

To understand Stark's situation, Han Yu turned to his AI assistant, JARVIS, the most reliable source of information.

JARVIS, with intelligence far surpassing that of ordinary artificial intelligence, could analyze situations and discern friend from foe as a human would. He also knew about Stark's visit to Han Yu's shop to purchase an energy source.

"After the Sokovia incident, Mr. Stark has been overcome with guilt due to the massive property damage caused by his actions. He not only lost the Mind Stone but also triggered a catastrophic event. As a result, he's been drowning his sorrows in alcohol," JARVIS explained candidly.

Hearing this, Han Yu fell into deep thought. The responsibility for the Sokovia incident and the loss of the Mind Stone was indeed an unbearable burden for most people.

Though Stark often seemed carefree, the truth was more complicated. After the Battle of New York, where he flew a nuclear missile into the wormhole to destroy the Chitauri forces, Stark had been haunted by psychological scars.

Having witnessed countless Chitauri soldiers and leviathans emerging from the massive mothership, Stark couldn't shake the fear that, should such an event happen again, the enemy's assault would be far deadlier.

Desperation drove Stark to seek solutions. As a mere human, his capacity to counter such overwhelming threats was limited. This led him to conceive the idea of creating an ultra-intelligent robot to combat future extraterrestrial invasions.

Han Yu gazed silently at the sleeping Stark. The man had indeed borne far too much. His motivation for creating Vision wasn't selfish; it was the only way he, as a mortal, could try to protect the planet from unimaginable threats.

While Stark could handle Earth-bound criminals, threats from beyond the Earth were simply beyond his reach.

Taking out the Mind Stone, Han Yu used his Green Lantern ring to conjure a secure box. He configured it so only Stark could open it; no amount of force or tampering would suffice for anyone else.

Han Yu then sat at the computer, inputting everything he remembered about Vision's design into a file. He saved the file in the most prominent spot on the desktop and instructed JARVIS to inform Stark about it when he woke up.

"Ultron's consciousness won't compete for this body anymore, so Vision's creation should go smoothly. Let's hope this Vision proves to be more capable and less useless," Han Yu muttered.

After leaving everything in place, Han Yu departed. The rest was up to Stark. Returning the Mind Stone was already a monumental gesture of goodwill on Han Yu's part.

As for S.H.I.E.L.D., they had considered retrieving the Mind Stone. However, after witnessing Han Yu's power during the Sokovia incident, they knew they were no match for him.

Faced with someone as powerful as Han Yu, they were determined to avoid conflict. With his strength, he could obliterate them in moments if he wished.

The next day, Stark woke up to JARVIS relaying Han Yu's instructions. Upon seeing the detailed plans for Vision on the computer, Stark was utterly stunned.

The design largely aligned with his original vision, but the enhancements in abilities and specifications far exceeded what he had initially conceived. If Vision were built to these specifications, he would undoubtedly be a formidable force!
