"Did Logan discover something?"
Even without explaining the effect of the knife, Logan still believed that it could end this battle. It was a matter of trust.
Mike smiled faintly as he whispered to himself.
Over the next several seconds, amidst the sound of clashing weapons and Logan's relentless, dogged assault, the two Zhanpo knives and the adamantium knife collided numerous times, cutting into the XI Weapon's body with dozens of slashes.
"Time's up," Mike suddenly said.
"What?"
Logan stared with bloodshot eyes, panting as he asked, tightening his grip on his knife while watching the XI Weapon disappear and reappear with another teleportation.
"Didn't you ask about the effect of this knife?" Mike chuckled softly. "You'll find out soon."
The XI Weapon vanished from sight. Logan licked the blood from the corner of his mouth, expecting the next attack to come from that direction. But instead, the XI Weapon appeared right in front of Mike.
"Get out of the way!" Logan shouted, stepping in front of Mike.
Mike didn't have Logan's physique; if he were struck by that blade, Clark might end up an orphan.
But Mike merely smiled at the XI Weapon, his voice calm as he said, "Kneel!"
In the next moment, Logan froze in shock, unable to believe what he was seeing.
The XI Weapon's raised arm, as if unable to support the weight of its own limb, dropped weakly to its side. The body, which had just teleported, collapsed onto its knees, kneeling before them like a penitent sinner.
Mike swung his knife, making quick slashes across the XI Weapon's body until it was lying on the ground. He said, "This knife continuously doubles the weight of whatever it strikes."
"Whoa!" Logan sucked in a sharp breath, running his fingers over the Zhanpo knife in his hand. "This thing is good."
"Finish him off."
Mike gestured at the fallen XI Weapon, signaling Logan to take care of the head.
Logan grinned, stepping forward and unable to resist delivering a few more slashes with his knife to the XI Weapon's body. Extending his adamantium claws, he aimed for its neck.
But just as Logan's claws were about to strike, the XI Weapon, which had been lying prone, suddenly vanished.
Teleportation?
Logan's eyes widened in surprise as he looked up, only to laugh with Mike at the absurdity of the situation.
The XI Weapon reappeared several meters away, still kneeling on the ground.
"Hahaha!"
Logan laughed so hard that tears nearly formed in his eyes.
Mike fought to suppress his own grin, trying to stay serious. "Hurry up and finish it. We don't want any more surprises."
Logan nodded at Mike and walked toward the kneeling XI Weapon.
But just as he stepped forward, the XI Weapon disappeared once more.
Mike and Logan both looked around, scanning for any sign of the enemy.
Nowhere to be seen!
But the XI Weapon, having received orders, would not leave before completing its mission. So…
Mike's eyes narrowed as he looked up, shouting, "Logan! Watch out! Above you!"
Logan glanced up just in time to see the XI Weapon teleport directly above him, its eyes glowing with a dazzling, seductive red light as it descended.
Without hesitation, Mike turned and ran, but Logan only had time to cross his claws above his head before the intense beam of light enveloped him.
Boom! Boom!
The scorching light shattered everything around Logan, as if it were trying to drive him into the earth.
Mike flinched slightly at the sight.
"Quick thinking," he muttered under his breath. "Can't stand, can't attack... just prone and attacking you instead..."
"Ahhh!" Logan cried out in pain, shouting toward Mike, "Don't just stand there!"
Mike chuckled, watching the XI Weapon plummeting from the air. He discarded the Chaboku blade and drew another card.
With a thought, the card transformed into a dot of light, disappearing as a short knife materialized in front of Mike.
Mike gripped the God Gun, aimed at the XI Weapon, and softly chanted, "Shoot him, God Gun!"
Zing!
A flash of light passed, and the blade of the God Gun instantly cut through the space before him, piercing directly through the XI Weapon's head, which had been focused on smashing Logan to pieces.
The searing ray disappeared, leaving only a faint crimson dot slowly dissipating in mid-air.
Mike's arm tensed...
Zing!
The XI Weapon's body split into two halves, falling from the air, with drops of fresh blood raining down onto Logan's face.
Logan wiped the blood off his face, watching the blade retract rapidly, as though it were tearing through the sky. A flash of surprise crossed his face before he helplessly muttered, "Was it really necessary to go this far?"
Mike nodded seriously. "You know how insane its self-healing ability is. This is a safer approach."
With that, Mike walked toward the two halves of the body, and, much to Logan's grimacing displeasure, added a few more slashes.
Hoo!
Mike exhaled, murmuring, "Now I can relax."
Fortunately, the XI Weapon only had two adamantium blades; if its entire skeleton, like Logan's, had been wrapped in adamantium, this fight would have been much harder.
Quietly speaking to himself, Mike turned to look at Logan.
Logan instinctively took a step back, then grinned at Mike. He pointed in the direction where Black Emperor and Mister Sinister were, looking at the collapsed buildings. "What's that?"
"Two monsters, don't worry about them."
Mike replied briefly, "Let's go."
Logan hesitated for a moment, then asked, "What about the mutants they've been holding...?"
"Don't worry about them." Mike said, "Black Emperor from the Hellfire Club is here to rescue them."
"Black Emperor?" Logan paused, then nodded, feeling reassured.
Black Emperor had done quite a lot worldwide and was well-known in the mutant community. As a mutant himself, Logan naturally knew about him and was aware of his methods.
The two ran toward the outskirts of the battlefield.
Mike glanced back and saw a figure flying through the air, manipulating the broken buildings and hurling them toward the ground.
Mister Sinister?
He remembered that Black Emperor didn't have flight abilities.
Boom! Boom!
A thunderous explosion rang through the entire island, and the collapsing buildings were blasted to pieces.
Dust filled the air, and Mister Sinister shot up into the sky, quickly vanishing.
"Left?"
Mike stared, then whispered, "Did he lose? Or have his 'collectibles' already been rescued?"
Mister Sinister wasn't someone who would retreat easily. Mike thought it was likely the second possibility—that the 'collectibles' had been rescued, which gave him no reason to continue fighting.
On the other side, seeing Mister Sinister fly away, Black Emperor patted the dust off his clothes and snorted coldly.
Bang!
A cloud of red smoke appeared, and Red Devil appeared beside Black Emperor.
"How is it? Have our people all left?"
Red Devil nodded. "Almost all of them are gone."
"Almost?"
Black Emperor narrowed his eyes, waiting for an explanation.
Red Devil continued, "A woman named Carla refused to leave with us. She went to find another mutant named Logan. She said he was her lover."
Black Emperor paused, then replied, "Let her be. Let's go."
Red Devil placed his hand on Black Emperor's shoulder, and with a flash of red mist, they disappeared.
