Marvel : Godly Lottery System

Chapter 377: Galactus

Moreover, he was even closer to the verge of breaking into the eighth-dimensional realm than Lorna is now or Arishem was in their earlier duel.

He was a true "quasi-eighth-dimensional" being.

At that moment, the system's voice rang in Zane's mind once again:

["Ding! Issuing system mission."]

["Mission content: Kill a Planet Devourer."]

["Mission reward: A random chance to draw an A-tier to SS-tier reward based on completion level."]

["Mission failure: No penalty."]

["Do you accept?"]

"Accept," Zane replied without hesitation, and the system's voice disappeared.

However, what felt strange to Zane was how casually the system presented the task of "killing a certain someone."

It felt as if the system was asking him to go to the market and grab a head of cabbage.

Still, the moment that armored giant appeared, the system immediately issued the mission.

This allowed Zane to instantly deduce the giant's identity:

It was precisely the Planet Devourer mentioned by the system.

Although the Planet Devourer had also been brought up earlier during Zane's conversation with Elder Uatu, Zane knew this entity wasn't as simple as it seemed on the surface.

So, he turned his gaze toward Roma, who was jotting notes furiously in her journal nearby.

As the daughter of the Omniversal Overseer, she had lived for countless years and was well-versed in the secrets of various universes.

Surely, Roma's understanding of the Planet Devourer would surpass that of Urartu.

"You know about the Planet Devourer, right?" Zane asked.

"Hm? You know about it already? Sometimes I feel like I'm the outsider who just arrived here compared to you."

"Of course, when it comes to the Planet Devourer, I definitely know more than you," Roma replied with a knowing smile and began explaining the Planet Devourer like reciting a well-practiced story:

"The Planet Devourer was originally the sole survivor of the previous cosmic cycle after its destruction. His original name was said to be Galan."

"He's one of the five founding deities of this cosmic cycle, the [Omniverse]."

"He is known as the 'Planet Devourer' or 'Galactus'."

"Among the five deities, he is the only one who exists as an 'avatar' in every native dimensional universe."

"In different dimensional universes, his form can vary. For instance, in Universe 1610, he is manifested as a powerful collective of mechanical insect swarms."

"Since he is the sole survivor of the previous cosmic cycle, his energy consumption patterns don't entirely align with those of this cosmic cycle."

"As a result, he frequently needs to replenish energy, typically by consuming the cores of celestial bodies."

"Thus, he is also the only deity among the five who is only partially omnipotent."

"He wears an entire suit of armor crafted from an unknown cosmic metal, allowing him to manage and control his energy."

"If he were to remove his armor, the immense cosmic energy within him would rapidly diffuse, annihilating an entire multiverse in an instant."

"Little girl, let me add something for you: the reason I've become only half-omnipotent and have an 'avatar' in every universe is entirely because that old man deliberately suppressed my power. Otherwise, I could swallow the entire [Omniverse] in one gulp."

The towering Planet Devourer, hearing Roma's words about him, seemed somewhat displeased. He looked down at Roma, who was barely the size of his toe, and said:

"You must be Merlin's daughter, right? Only your family could know so much about me, a founding god of this universe."

"For your father Merlin's sake, I'll spare your life this time…"

"But next, I'm going to settle the score with this brat, Zane Sy."

"He killed my disciples, Destruction and Tiamut, so I'll make him pay in blood!"

With that, the Planet Devourer pulled out a silver metal device—exactly like the [Ultimate Nullifier] that Zane had encountered during his battle with the Tiamut.

"Oh, so that guy was your disciple?"

Zane's eyes locked onto the silver device in the Planet Devourer's hand as he smirked and said mockingly:

"When the disciple's skills are lacking and they die, the master comes to seek revenge, huh?"

"No, you're wrong. You're already marked for death by the Living Tribunal's decree. Your fate is sealed," the Planet Devourer replied coldly.

"I'm here to kill you as a mere formality."

"And conveniently, I'll use the final weapon that Tiamut invented before his death to kill you quickly. Consider it revenge for the brothers you killed."

After speaking, the Planet Devourer raised the silver [Ultimate Nullifier] and aimed it at Zane below.

"This weapon, called the [Ultimate Nullifier], is—"

Zane had already heard Tiamut explain it once before, so he interrupted with a sneer:

"A weapon that's already been used? Don't bother waving it in front of me again."

"No, you're wrong again. The [Ultimate Nullifier] you encountered back then is nothing compared to what it is now."

"At the time, Tiamut merely designed a basic concept. Because it was a projection from a future dream-space, it required energy buildup during materialization."

"Its functionality was incomplete and rudimentary."

"But I've since upgraded it further, using parts crafted from several entire parallel universes."

"Now, it doesn't just erase a person's existence; it also obliterates every trace of their history, ensuring no one remembers they ever existed."

"Even an alternate version of myself in a parallel universe was instantly killed by this newly materialized weapon."

"In other words, even I, the Planet Devourer, one of the five founding gods of the [Omniverse], cannot withstand a single strike from the [Ultimate Nullifier]."

"Let alone you, a mere creature from Earth!"

[Boom!]

A dazzling multicolored laser beam burst forth from the silver device, streaking toward Zane with incredible speed.

In that instant, Zane vanished without a trace.

The laser missed its target and instead struck a nearby asteroid that had only recently appeared.

The asteroid was annihilated in an instant, leaving behind nothing—not even a speck of ash.
