Marvel: Reincarnated As Kitty Pryde

Chapter 1: Kitty Pryde

"They walk among us, but they're not like you or me. They have powers, abilities that make them dangerous. Imagine living next door to someone who can read your mind, control your thoughts, or tear your house down with a flick of their hand."

"Do we really want mutants in our schools? In our workplaces? They're dangerous, and it's only a matter of time before something goes wrong. We can't just stand by and let this happen. They're a threat to everything we hold dear, and we need to protect ourselves."

This speech, made by the Anti-mutants organization, was broadcasted across all parts of the United States. The situation of mutants is only becoming worse and worse, but of course, this is only in the United States.

Kitty, who was watching the press conference, couldn't help but sigh. Reality is different from fiction after all. The things she only watched in comics and movies are now happening right in front of her.

Yes, Kitty was, in fact, from a world called Earth but then reborn in this world that derived from the Marvel Comics in her previous life.

She was just a 22-year-old student suffering from depression but couldn't take her own life for fear of making her family feel guilty in the end.

Fortunately or unfortunately, a truck came to end her life when she was returning from university, and when she opened her eyes again, she was in this world.

The feeling isn't something that can be described in words, especially when she first heard of Stark Industries, headed by Howard Stark at that time.

The only thing that gave her some comfort was her identity; she was reborn as Katherine Anne Pryde, the future Shadowcat.

Even though Shadowcat appeared weak compared to top characters like Thanos, Thor, Wanda, and others, they are people at the top of the chain.

Her ability to project an individual's consciousness into the past, or after the Black Vortex empowerment, even phase through different planes of existence and ascend to a cosmic plane, had immense potential.

But well, after 23 years, she wasn't able to awaken her powers, until the mutant fight that happened yesterday. This was because mutants tend to awaken their powers when under emotional stress.

However, as someone who had gone through two lives, there wasn't really anything that could stress Kitty. She didn't fear death because she had wanted to die in the first place. And who else would join the entertainment industry in the Marvel world?

That's right; instead of finding ways to gain strength or stress herself, she joined the entertainment industry just to satisfy the curiosity from her past life. But at a banquet that took place yesterday, a mutant fight broke out.

It was this event that gave her enough stress to finally awaken her powers, but something else important also happened.

She said, "System, Check-In for today."

That's right, the system she awakened is the Check-In system. The system's condition to activate was to survive a major disaster, and every day she survives, she can Check-In and receive a random reward.

Today was her first day after activating the system, and it's the only special day in the system because the host is guaranteed to receive a big reward.

[Congratulations to the host for successfully surviving and Checking-In for the first day. The host receives the perfect version of MGH.]

"Huh, MGH?" Emma murmured, a little confused. In the system manual, it was stated that everything received wouldn't harm the host. But if she remembered correctly, MGH is a drug that gives human users powers and gives powered individuals a temporary boost.

Only after reading carefully and seeing the word perfect did she realize her mistake. She clicked on the introduction.

[MGH: Also known as Mutant Growth Hormone, is a drug that gives humans powers and gives powered individuals a boost.

[The perfect version of MGH enhances a powered individual's potential to the maximum possible, permanently and without any side effects. Note: Only the host can use the serum. Study and other uses are not allowed, or it will become invalid.]

"Yes?" Emma's eyes widened, and she even raised her voice while murmuring. Maximum potential, doesn't this mean she could become an Omega-level mutant?

As broken as the original Kitty's ability seems to be, in fact, she wasn't even an Alpha but a Beta-level mutant. Just imagining what her ability could do after being limitless was enough to make Kitty feel excited.

Without considering Cassandra Nova as a mutant, there are a total of 15 officially known Omega-level mutants in the Marvel world, each with the potential to be multiverse-level destroyers.

After coming to her senses, Kitty clicked on receive. Instead of the blue pill she was expecting, she received a syringe with blue serum inside.

Kitty took a deep breath. As a little celebrity, it was only a matter of time before people discovered she was a mutant. Unless she was strong enough, she would have to join forces with others. But if she was strong enough...

It's like with Charles. The government clearly knows he is a mutant, but they don't dare test his bottom line. Of course, there are some exceptions.

After making up her mind, Kitty injected the serum. The moment it entered her body, Kitty felt icy cold. She could hear her heartbeat, which was rising with every moment as if she were scared.

She started having trouble breathing, and for a moment, Kitty thought she would faint, but the pain she was enduring wouldn't let her.

After more than five minutes, the pain began to subside. Kitty suddenly found that the world seemed to have changed; it was more colorful. As strange as it may sound, she could even hear the sound of the air. It hadn't been like this when she awakened her powers yesterday.

"So this is the sensation Omega-level mutants feel?" Kitty now had the feeling she could do many things she thought she couldn't before.

She looked at an old scar she had on the back of her hand from the mutant battle yesterday. On a whimsical thought, she suddenly thought she could phase the injury away.

In fact, knowing what kind of mutant powers she would awaken, she had studied since childhood what kind of things she could do, whether scientifically or with her phasing ability.

Kitty's ability allows her to phase through solid matter by shifting her atoms through the spaces between the atoms of the object through which she is moving.

This made her think: couldn't she automatically heal herself by «resetting» her molecular structure to a pristine state if she was injured? Unfortunately, only after awakening her powers did she understand why she was classified as a Beta-level mutant.
