Chapter 74: Marvel Scientist Becomes God, Ch 54.1
Ye Hai stepped into the Eternal Night Palace and felt a chilling cold rush against him. Apart from the dampness, there was something eerie about the magnetic field fluctuations in the building. While he had sharp senses, he lacked the ability to perceive and manipulate magnetic fields like Magneto. If he did, he could pinpoint the source of these strange magnetic anomalies.
Inside the palace were numerous unknown sculptures, many depicting bats and vampires with bat wings.
Frost explained, "These are forms of the Blood God. They can take on human shapes, transform into bats, or retain their human forms with bat wings sprouting from their backs to fly. Aside from that, they are nearly indestructible, as they can heal their wounds rapidly… The vampire Bible states that these statues are also guardians of the Eternal Night Palace; by reciting the complete incantation, one can awaken them to fight for you!"
The vampire elders looked around eagerly, their expressions filled with excitement akin to that of pilgrims. They were muttering under their breath, seemingly praying or chanting spells.
Frost noticed this and understood that their zeal was merely derived from snippets of magic found in the vampire Bible, a fantasy where they could awaken these statues to save themselves. He had tried this many times before; it had never been effective. Only the Blood God could likely awaken them.
Dracula called out excitedly to the sky, "Is this really the Eternal Night Palace? The holy land of the Blood Clan? We vampires searched for hundreds of years and couldn't find it, yet you managed to!"
Frost coldly replied, "You only know how to hide in dark nests; how could you care about the outside world? Of course, you wouldn't find it."
Dracula was left speechless. Indeed, these old-timers preferred indulgence and showed no ambition, and were not very enthusiastic about finding the Eternal Night Palace.
Before long, they arrived at the grand hall of sacrifice, where there were even more sculptures and walls adorned with dense, unknown runes.
Ye Hai's eyes lit up as he said, "Frost, have your subordinates take pictures of these runes. I need them."
Frost smiled, "Doctor Ye, rest assured, I have explored every corner of this place and documented everything."
"Very good." Ye Hai looked at Frost with satisfaction, "It seems your ability to get things done is quite impressive. It would be a pity if you were to die. This serum is for Dracula." Saying this, he took out a vial of blue serum.
Upon seeing the serum, Frost was instantly overjoyed and hurriedly replied, "Thank you for your grace, my master! From now on, I, Frost, will humbly serve you, devotedly and diligently!"
He was pledging his loyalty to Ye Hai, having passed his test.
This vial contained a serum capable of turning vampires into half-breeds. Frost had already been injected with it by Ye Hai, who had given him a choice: if Frost succeeded with matters regarding the Blood God, Ye Hai promised to spare him and turn other vampires into half-breeds instead of making him a sacrifice.
