Chapter 98: Marvel Scientist Becomes God, Ch 65.2
With this in mind, Ye Hai realized he didn't feel confident about facing them. Currently, he could only reach Level 5, which was already god-like in terms of power; he could easily overpower mutants from the movie versions, but comic versions were a different story altogether.
He quickly reviewed the mutants he knew, analyzing them thoroughly before he finally breathed a sigh of relief. Most of this world still resembled the movie version; it was just that the Marvel universe was a collaborative one, and different narratives could certainly influence one another.
In less than a second, Ye Hai had processed all this information and then mused, "I can call in some friends for help."
Phoenix asked, "Dr. Ye, do you have someone in mind?"
"Blade."
"Blade?" Phoenix was slightly surprised. "I've heard of him; he seems to be a half-vampire and possesses formidable combat skills. He would be a great ally."
Ye Hai smiled, "He's come a long way and will definitely surprise you."
Still not entirely reassured, Phoenix looked to the professor for a final decision. The professor was the leader of the X-Men and had an impressive track record of wisdom and few mistakes in past experiences.
The professor said with a smile, "You've all overlooked one person—Dr. Ye himself. He is not only a Level 4 mutant..."
He is a powerful mutant with many abilities; the two of them together can handle a lot of people. It seems this matter has been quickly settled!"
"Alright."
Since the professor said so, the members of the X-Men had no objections.
After the members left, the professor said, "Dr. Ye, please stay behind; I need to discuss something with you."
Ye Hai understood and asked, "Professor, do you want to enhance their abilities?"
The professor hesitated and said, "With only a few days until the summit, increasing their combat abilities would be ineffective as they wouldn't be able to adapt in time. I would like to ask Dr. Tu to enhance their regenerative capabilities."
"Are you asking me to enhance their regeneration ability?" Ye Hai inquired.
"Yes." The professor replied apologetically, "I know your genetic technology can't be exposed too early, as it could cause you significant trouble. However, this situation is too critical; we cannot afford to lose. If Magnetic King succeeds, our kind will face dire consequences, possibly even extinction."
The professor's face reflected deep concern, indicating his lack of confidence in the X-Men. He supported Ye Hai's plan, placing hope in regenerative genes. Once the X-Men had regenerative abilities, they wouldn't fear injury, which would significantly boost their combat power.
Ye Hai smiled and said, "I can develop a regeneration gene for them, but I have a condition."
"What is it?"
"I need blood from Phoenix." Ye Hai added, "Professor, you know the risks I'm taking."
The professor remained silent for a moment before saying, "Ye, you cannot control Jean's powers."
"I know. I will only pick certain abilities of hers, like telekinesis and telepathy. I won't touch her Phoenix powers until I'm sure I can handle them. Rest assured, Professor, I am a very disciplined person; I won't lose myself in the pursuit of power."
