Chapter 143: Restate the Bible.... in song form
Ere'ana stood in the middle of the family room, her angelic presence commanding attention even from the reluctant Kikidori, Yumi, and Akuma. Kael, sitting cross-legged on the carpet, was the only one remotely excited. He loved when his mother sang, even if her choice of topic often confused or bored everyone else.
"This family," Ere'ana began, her voice filled with determination, "needs a reminder of where we all come from and the truths of existence. So, sit down and listen!"
Kikidori groaned, slouching into the couch. "If this is another one of your sermons, Ere'ana, I—"
"Shush!" she snapped, her wings fluttering in irritation. "This is important!"
And then she began.
**Genesis: The Beginning of It All**
Ere'ana's voice rose like a choir as she began singing, her words weaving together a lyrical retelling of the creation story.
*"In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth,"* she sang, her arms sweeping dramatically to illustrate the vastness of the cosmos. *"The earth was formless and void, and darkness hovered over the waters deep. But then He said, 'Let there be light,' and there was light—a light so sweet!"*
Kael's eyes widened in wonder as Ere'ana mimicked the spreading of light with a wave of her glowing wings. Kikidori raised an eyebrow but said nothing, already regretting not leaving the room.
*"Day by day, He crafted all: the sky above, the oceans below, the land where creatures would crawl. He made the sun, the moon, the stars, and all the plants that grow!"*
She continued through the seven days of creation, her song explaining how the animals, trees, and humans came to be.
*"And on the sixth day, He made man, from the dust of the earth, you see! He gave him life, a name—Adam—and said, 'Rule all of this for Me!'"*
Then Ere'ana's tone shifted, growing darker as she approached the story of the forbidden fruit.
*"But in the Garden of Eden, a serpent sly and foul, whispered lies to Eve's ear, to make her break her vow. 'Eat this fruit,' the serpent said, 'and you will be as wise as He!'"*
She leaned closer to Kael, who was leaning forward with rapt attention. *"And so Eve ate, and Adam too, and their eyes were opened wide. They saw their nakedness, their shame—no longer could they hide."*
Kael gasped, his small hands covering his mouth. "Did God get mad?"
Ere'ana nodded solemnly. *"Oh, Kael, He did. He sent them out, out of paradise. A life of pain they'd now endure, for they did not heed His advice."*
Exodus: Freedom from Bondage
Without missing a beat, Ere'ana transitioned into the story of Moses and the Exodus. Her voice took on a triumphant tone as she described the parting of the Red Sea and the liberation of the Israelites.
*"Through plagues and trials, Pharaoh's heart was hard as stone. But God's power reigned supreme, and His people weren't alone. With Moses as their leader, they fled Egypt's cruel embrace. The Red Sea split before their eyes—a path for them, God's grace!"*
Akuma raised a hand, interrupting. "Wait, wait. So, you're telling me the ocean just... split in half? Like, no walls of water falling on them?"
"Yes, Akuma," Ere'ana said patiently, her hands on her hips. "It's a miracle. You of all people should understand divine intervention."
Kikidori muttered under his breath, "Oh, great, now we're giving Akuma theology lessons. Wonderful."
Ere'ana ignored him and pressed on, detailing the commandments Moses brought down from Mount Sinai.
*"Upon the mountain high and steep, God's voice was loud and clear. He gave ten laws to guide the world, to teach them love and fear. But when Moses came down to his people, what did he find? A golden calf, an idol false, and hearts of foolish kind."*
David and Goliath: Faith Over Fear
Ere'ana's tone shifted once again, now light and almost playful as she recounted the tale of David and Goliath. She mimed the boy's bravery, pretending to sling a stone at an imaginary giant.
*"Young David stood, a shepherd small, with only a sling in hand. But his faith in God, so pure and strong, was mightier than the land. 'You come to me with spear and sword,' the giant roared with pride. But David's stone, it struck his head, and down Goliath died!"*
Kael giggled, clapping his hands. "David sounds cool!"
"Yeah, cool," Yumi mumbled, slouched in her seat with her arms crossed. "Are we gonna sit through the *entire Bible?*"
"Yes," Ere'ana said firmly, her wings fluffing out behind her. "Every single word."
**The Birth of Jesus: A Savior is Born**
Ere'ana's expression softened as she moved into the New Testament, her voice tender and full of awe.
*"And so in Bethlehem one night, beneath a star so bright, a child was born, the Son of God, to bring the world His light. Angels sang, and shepherds came, wise men from afar. All bowed down to this small babe, the world's brightest star."*
Kikidori groaned, rubbing his temples. "If I have to hear another story about that kid, I swear—"
"Do *not* speak ill of the Savior!" Ere'ana snapped, glaring at him. "You're lucky I haven't dragged you to church already."
"You did last Christmas," Kikidori shot back.
"That was *heaven!* Not church!" Ere'ana retorted, before jumping back into her song.
The stories kept coming—of Jesus's miracles, his teachings, and ultimately his sacrifice. Ere'ana's voice grew mournful as she described the crucifixion, her wings drooping. Even Kikidori fell silent during this part, though he wouldn't admit he was moved.
Kael, however, sniffled and wiped his eyes. "Mom... did he come back?"
Ere'ana's face lit up, her voice soaring with joy.
*"Oh, Kael, he did! On the third day, the stone was rolled away. He rose again, alive and well, to bring eternal day!"*
Hours later ere'ana got to.....
**Revelation: The End and the New Beginning**
By the time Ere'ana reached Revelation, her voice was hoarse, but her passion remained strong.
*"And so it ends, with visions strange, of beasts and angels too. A war to come, a final fight, when all will be made new. The wicked cast into the flame, the righteous lifted high. A new Jerusalem descends, a city in the sky."*
Kael stared at her in awe. "That's... a lot, Mom."
Ere'ana smiled, brushing back his hair. "It is, my little one. But it's the greatest story ever told."
Kikidori yawned loudly, stretching. "Well, that was... long. Can we go now?"
Yumi and Akuma nodded, eager to escape.
"No one's leaving until we pray," Ere'ana said firmly.
"Of course," Kikidori muttered. "Why not?"
