"Rasengan!"
With a loud explosion, a Chūnin who had been standing far off as a spectator collapsed to the ground.
Ding! You have killed a Chūnin from the Akikaze Clan. Reward: 1000 points!
"Akikaze Clan? Shouldn't they be from the Hyūga Clan?" In that split second, Xuan still had time to muse on the oddity. Upon further thought, however, he realized these Chūnin didn't have the characteristic Byakugan of the Hyūga Clan. What Xuan didn't know was that the so-called Akikaze Clan was a minor clan subservient to the Hyūga, akin to a servant clan, but not even reaching the status of a full subordinate clan.
"Over there!"
A Jōnin elite instantly locked onto Xuan's location. Utilizing the Body Flicker Technique to its fullest extent, the Jōnin's movements seemed almost like teleportation. A blade slashed down at Xuan's position but only struck empty air.
Even the typically composed elite Jōnin couldn't help but feel a flash of anger. Being toyed with by a much weaker opponent was maddening beyond words.
"You all, leave now! Stop getting in the way and becoming his targets," Hyūga Tamamo commanded. She bit her fingertip lightly as her sharp gaze followed Xuan's sudden appearances and disappearances below.
"Tenpū, can you figure out how he's moving?" she asked softly, addressing the elite Jōnin, Hyūga Tenpū, standing beside her.
Tenpū, who had been closely observing Xuan's movements from the start, slowly shook his head. "I can't tell. It's not the Body Flicker Technique. Given his level of power, it's impossible for him to sustain the Body Flicker for so long without his body breaking down. It feels like he's simply vanishing from one spot and appearing in another, without any warning or pattern. I've never seen such a bizarre technique."
Below, Xuan dared not let up his use of the Flying Thunder God Technique. He jumped continuously between kunai-marked positions, vanishing in an instant, never pausing even for a moment.
The two elite Jōnin chasing him, despite their relentless pursuit, had yet to touch even the hem of his clothing. Their frustration had reached a boiling point, and their swift blades cleaved through the air like bolts of lightning, always narrowly missing their target.
"Have these two overdosed on pills or something?" Xuan muttered internally as the three figures blurred and clashed, creating a scene that seemed thrillingly dangerous. In truth, not a single one had managed to land a blow on the other.
"Wait, those Chūnin are running away! That won't do." Amid the high-speed chase, Xuan's sharp eyes caught sight of the fleeing Chūnin.
In an instant, he shifted his Flying Thunder God trajectory, appearing next to one of the escaping Chūnin. With a quick slap, he attached an explosive tag to the Chūnin and immediately vanished, reappearing near another Chūnin.
Boom!
The explosive tag detonated, but before the smoke cleared, Xuan's kunai had already cut through the throat of another Chūnin.

Xuan frowned slightly. "No points for that one?" Looking back, he caught sight of one of the elite Jōnin withdrawing his blade, the Chūnin's lifeless body at his feet. Xuan cursed internally, "Killing your own people? Don't you have any humanity?" Of course, he knew it was likely an accidental kill, as the blade had been aimed at him.
"Next time, I can't waste time showing off with explosive tags. I need to go for clean kills—they're worth points, after all." Resolving this in his mind, Xuan reappeared near another Chūnin-marked kunai. This time, he acted swiftly, his Sharingan spinning lightly as he locked eyes with the target. The Chūnin froze, unable to move, and Xuan's kunai effortlessly sliced across his throat.

The entire sequence had taken only moments. Yet, for every action, time passed, however fleetingly. The instant Xuan made a move, the pursuing elite Jōnin struck back. A flash of a blade sliced through the air as Xuan escaped using the Flying Thunder God Technique. A scrap of cloth fluttered to the ground—the edge of Xuan's clothing.
"That was close. A fraction of a second slower, and that blade wouldn't have just cut my clothes. Fighting these elite Jōnin is terrifying—no room for error," Xuan thought, his heart pounding.
The Flying Thunder God Technique flashed again, and soon, the original seven Chūnin had been whittled down. One was killed by Rasengan, another was accidentally slain by an elite Jōnin, and Xuan had personally dealt with two more. The remaining four had fled, two already out of range of his kunai-marked zones. With the elite Jōnin still in pursuit, Xuan had no opportunity to chase them down.
Appearing beside another Chūnin, Xuan swiftly dispatched him, earning another 1000 points, before disappearing again just as an elite Jōnin's blade descended.
The last Chūnin was now at the edge of Xuan's kunai-marked zones. Xuan's only option was to throw one of his marked kunai after the fleeing target, then retreat to a safe distance using the Flying Thunder God.
Distance breeds a false sense of security. Though baffled by why Xuan had suddenly pulled back, the fleeing Chūnin subconsciously relaxed. Turning slightly, he easily dodged the kunai. At that very moment, he felt an unusual shift in the air behind him. It was too late to react. Pain exploded in his back as he collapsed to the ground. His final vision was of Xuan's previous position, now empty.

"I'm going to kill you!"
One of the elite Jōnin roared furiously, lunging with all his might. His blade missed again, carving a deep gash into the village's wooden fence and leaving a trail of destruction in its wake.
"If you want to kill me, you'll have to try harder than that, weakling!" Xuan taunted from atop another thatched roof, his face the very picture of smugness. His mocking tone could drive even a saint to violence.
"Die!"
Another elite Jōnin appeared behind him, his blade cleaving through the air and reducing the roof to splinters. But once again, Xuan had vanished.
The three continued their deadly game of cat and mouse. From a distance, it looked like a dazzling dance of light and shadow, with a glowing spark endlessly evading two ominous silhouettes.
Meanwhile, Hyūga Tamamo stood on a nearby hill, biting her thumb in frustration. Her sharp eyes darted between the last Chūnin's death site and the positions Xuan had occupied earlier. She replayed his actions in her mind—scattering kunai earlier, throwing a marked kunai just now…
"I think… I've figured out the conditions for his technique," she said calmly, lowering her hand.
