Chapter 127: Kurama
A rumble echoed, followed by a terrifying burst of chakra.
From inside Kushina's house, a gigantic orange-furred fox, with nine furious tails, suddenly emerged.
The Kyubi had awakened, and in its red eyes shone a terrifying coldness, accompanied by a killing intent that seemed endless.
It had sensed the familiar ocular power of the Mangekyō Sharingan.
The Eight Trigrams Seal, until now unbreakable, began to show signs of failure. Kushina, unable to react, fell into a stupor for no apparent reason, while the chakra containing the monster wavered.
Kurama, sensing the golden opportunity before him, grew excited and unleashed his fury.
"ROOOOOAAAARRR!!"
The roar was so powerful that it made the earth tremble.
Kurama broke everything around him, exuding a tyrannical aura, loaded with the power to destroy everything in his path. His presence was so overwhelming that it seemed to paralyze the very air.
Boom!
All of Konoha was in shock at the sight of the feared nine-tailed fox, and the screams of disbelief did not take long to start:
"How is this possible?!"
"It's the Kyubi! How did it appear?!"
"It seems that... Luo Lei-sama crushed something white in his hand!" murmured one of the shinobi present, as murmurs quickly multiplied.
The ANBU and Root members, who were hiding and watching Kushina, were the first to react, but terror was etched on their faces at the sight of the colossal figure of the Kyubi.
The malevolent chakra they felt surpassed anything they had experienced before.
"....."
"The Kyūbi's Jinchūriki has gone mad!"
"Something's wrong with the Kyubi's Jinchūriki!"
As the voices of alarm rose, the ninjas began to mobilize, leaping from rooftop to rooftop.
Swish! Swish! Swish!
The shinobi gathered around the epicenter of the disaster, moving quickly from every corner of Konoha.
Minato was the first to arrive. Behind him came Hiruzen, Danzō, Jiraiya, Tsunade, Orochimaru, Koharu, Shikaku, Hiashi, Futian, and many other high-ranking ninjas.
Upon arrival, they all shared an expression of astonishment and dismay.
"How could something like this happen...?" Hiruzen wondered, watching the gigantic figure of the Kyubi as it began to gather chakra.
"How did this happen?....." Minato murmured, frowning. The Eight Trigrams Seal should have been more than enough to contain the Kyūbi, especially with the strength of an Uzumaki's body. Even if the fox's chakra overflowed, the most that should have manifested would be the chakra cloak, but... this situation was different.
Something had gone terribly wrong with Kushina's seal.
Jiraiya, Orochimaru, and Tsunade exchanged solemn looks. The situation was critical. They were all aware that the Kyūbi was the most powerful of the Bijū, and if its rampage wasn't stopped soon, the consequences for the village would be devastating.
"Luo Lei-sama, how did all this come about?"
Shikaku hesitated for a moment before carefully asking the question.
The tension in the air could be cut with a knife as everyone awaited an answer.
Minato, among those present, showed a suspicious expression; he had noticed how Luo Lei was already at the scene when he arrived, saying nothing, watching everything with an impassive calm.
"It was Madara who did it..." he replied, a slight tremor on his lips.
"I'm going to find a way to make Madara come out once and for all."
"...What?"
"Madara Uchiha?!"
"No wonder the Nine-Tails Jinchūriki went mad..."
Upon hearing those words, an expression of understanding formed on the faces of everyone present. Madara Uchiha, always hidden in the shadows, had been responsible for everything.
That explained it all.
"ROOOOOAAAAARRR!!"
At that moment, Kurama let out a roar that seemed to make the very sky vibrate. He had realized they were ignoring him, and his nine tails shot quickly toward Luo Lei.
To him, that human was the most dangerous and had to be eliminated first.
"Everyone, stay back," Luo Lei said, shaking his head slightly at the restless Kyubi.
In a firm and confident voice, he added,
"I will convince the Nine-Tails once and for all. After today, you won't have to worry about it going out of control again."
Swish
Luo Lei's body moved at an overwhelming speed, heading directly toward the massive head of the Nine-Tails. In an instant, he raised his fist and brought it down with indescribable force.
The force contained in that punch was colossal, enough to destroy a mountain. The air itself seemed to shatter as the fist was about to hit its target, and before Kurama could react, the impact struck him squarely on the head.
BOOOOM!
Ten thousand tons of power crashed into the Kyubi's skull, and Kurama's roar stopped abruptly.
The powerful force of the impact forced him to fall to the ground with a deafening crash. The gigantic body of the fox was crushed against the earth, making the entire village tremble.
"...How is this possible?" Kurama murmured, confused, as his eyes showed disbelief.
The ground shook under the weight of the impact, and a shockwave spread through the area, shaking buildings and knocking down some ninjas who hadn't had time to retreat. Luo Lei's strength had left everyone speechless.
Many of the ninjas who hadn't participated in the war, including Hiruzen and Koharu, looked at the scene with expressions of stupefaction. Some even rubbed their eyes, as if they couldn't believe what they were seeing.
What the hell was happening?
The legendary Kyubi, the most powerful monster among the Bijū, had been brought down with a single blow. The image of the invincible fox being slammed to the ground was something none of them would have imagined.
They knew Luo Lei was strong, but this exceeded all expectations.
The ninjas present finally understood why Luo Lei had been invincible in the war. It wasn't that the other four great villages were weak; it was that Luo Lei was too strong, on a completely different level.
Minato, Jiraiya, Tsunade, Nara Shikaku, and other ninjas who had witnessed Luo Lei's prowess on the battlefield maintained the same impassive expression. However, if one looked closely, they could see a glimmer of pity in their eyes as they looked at the Kyubi.
To them, the Kyūbi was undoubtedly an extremely powerful being, capable of razing the entire village if it went berserk. But Kurama had made a crucial mistake: choosing Luo Lei as his target.
There was no reason to worry about what would happen next.
