Chapter 235: A Conversation with Shisui, Luring the Snake Out of Its Hole!

After the Jonin meeting concluded, Asuma hurried over to Haneda's side.

Excitedly grabbing Haneda's arm, he exclaimed,

"Haneda big brother!"

"It's been three years! Do you know how I've gotten through these three years, Haneda big brother!!"

Kakashi pulled Asuma away with one hand.

"Ahem, Haneda is about to become Hokage. Asuma, watch your behavior."

Asuma glanced at Kakashi's face, feeling something was off. But with Haneda big brother about to succeed as Hokage, Asuma began planning a surprise for him.

"Haneda big brother, are you free tonight?" Asuma asked.

"Tonight?"

Haneda thought for a moment. He had to deal with Shisui and Danzo that evening, so he replied,

"I'm a bit busy tonight, so there's no need for a celebratory dinner, Asuma."

"Honestly, with our relationship, just a word of congratulations would make me happy enough."

Asuma pouted, dissatisfied.

"No way, Haneda big brother!"

"Life needs a sense of ritual! You're about to become Hokage—how can we just brush it off?"

Suddenly, an idea struck Asuma, and he grinned.

"Haneda big brother! Then I'll come find you tonight!!"

With that, Asuma ran off.

Kakashi clicked his tongue and turned to Haneda.

"How about lunch together to celebrate?"

Haneda, still preoccupied with plans regarding Shisui and Danzo, gently tapped Kakashi on the forehead.

"Forgive me, Kakashi. Let's do it next time."

Kakashi's face darkened in mock frustration. Suddenly, he noticed a certain reflective-haired man and teleported away using the Flying Thunder God technique.

"Haneda! How about we celebrate your upcoming Hokage role with a youthful showdown?!"

"If you become Hokage, we won't be able to have such passionate duels anymore! Waaah—"

Guy threw his arms around Haneda, acting as though he were heartbroken.

Haneda's forehead twitched with annoyance as he grabbed Guy's arm and said,

"I, Uchiha Haneda, keep my promises. As long as you defeat Kakashi, I'll agree to a duel with you."

"This has been our promise for over ten years, Guy!!"

"Really?" Guy asked seriously, looking at Haneda. "But if you're Hokage, I won't be able to go all out, Haneda!"

"Don't worry. When I accept your challenge, the result will already be decided," Haneda replied with a carefree smile.

"Alright then! There's a move I've saved just for you—when I defeat Kakashi, I'll come find you!!"

"Hm?" Haneda's confident smile froze.

The move Guy mentioned… could it be Night Guy?

"Cough, cough… Just save it for Kakashi, Guy!"

Without another word, Haneda used the Flying Thunder God technique to teleport himself and a bewildered Fugaku away.

In the blink of an eye, the two arrived at Haneda's home.

"Fugaku big brother, do you remember what I asked of you before?"

"You mean Shisui?"

Haneda nodded.

"End the Uchiha clan's alert today."

"This afternoon, announce within the clan that to celebrate my upcoming Hokage succession, everyone should prepare a special gift for me."

The request for the clan to prepare gifts wasn't because Haneda truly wanted them. It was to divert those monitoring Shisui, allowing Root ninjas to infiltrate and lure Shisui out.

At the mention of the Twin Stars of Konoha, Haneda smiled briefly and got straight to the point.

"You're aware of the recent surveillance on you and the heightened clan alert, aren't you?"

"Actually, it's not just to guard against your Sharingan abilities. It's mainly to prevent certain scheming individuals from harming you and stealing your eyes."

"Lord Haneda, are you referring to Elder Danzo?"

Haneda glanced at Shisui, who still held some respect for Danzo, and thought to himself that this child was too naive.

For now, Haneda had no intention of confronting Shisui directly. Instead, he pretended to advise,

"Twelve years ago, that old man tried to usurp power and assassinate the Third Hokage. In the process, I became collateral damage and was almost killed by Root agents!"

"Seven years ago, in the Land of Rain, Danzo colluded with two bounty ninjas to ambush me and Uncle Sakumo—Konoha's White Fang."

Haneda waved his hand to interrupt him.

"But those ties are from a previous generation. They may not truly care about you."

"Think carefully about what I've said. Soon enough, you'll realize I'm right."

With that, Haneda dismissed Shisui.

Whether Shisui chose to listen was his decision. Haneda had already done his part.

Glancing at the clock on the wall, Haneda realized it was nearly lunchtime. Perhaps he should have that meal with Kakashi after all?

He created another wood clone to covertly track Shisui, while his real body teleported to Kakashi's house using the Flying Thunder God technique.
