Chapter 112: Chapter 112: Kakashi Arrives
Extra Chapter~
"Ahhhh—"
"Boom! Boom!"
A tall figure screamed in agony.
Kiyoshi struck the figure's chest with a Rasengan, sending him spiraling backward like a cannonball.
Trees snapped in half as he hurtled through the forest, leaving anyone watching drenched in cold sweat.
"Whoosh... Whoosh... Whoosh..."
At this moment—
Several masked figures leapt into the scene from the dense forest, members of the Anbu.
Leading them was a man with silver hair, masked in a cat face—the captain directly under the Third Hokage, sent to stop the fight between Tenzo and Kiyoshi on the Hokage Rock.
Kakashi Hatake.
"Is that. the Lord Fourth's Jutsu?"
"That rumored A-rank ninjutsu… the Rasengan."
"Gulp! If I remember right. isn't he just ten years old?"
"He actually forced Tenzo into this situation. What a terrifying kid."
The Anbu members watching were shocked, astounded by Kiyoshi's mastery of an A-rank, seal less jutsu like the Rasengan.
'Minato-sensei's jutsu?'
Kakashi, wearing the cat mask, stared, his gaze distant as memories surfaced.
"He even mastered the Rasengan?"
Inside the Hokage's office—
The Third Hokage, puffing thoughtfully on his pipe, was visibly taken aback.
"Who could have taught him?"
From what he remembered, Tsunade knew nothing about the Rasengan.
Kiyoshi's prowess, too, left him deeply impressed, he was an all-around ninja, his genjutsu especially reaching a masterful level.
Even a skilled Anbu like Tenzo hadn't managed to gain the upper hand against him.
And most incredible of all, Kiyoshi wasn't even in his prime yet.
"A Wood Clone, is it?"
Kiyoshi's face remained impassive. Without a glance at the shattered clone, he turned to gaze at the towering trees a dozen meters away.
With a flick of his right hand, he made a symbol before him, gathering intense chakra in his mouth, and then exhaled forcefully—
"Fire Style: Great Fireball Jutsu!"
"Whooosh—"
A wave of heat surged forth, coloring the sky red with a massive fireball nearly ten meters in diameter, flying straight toward the forest at a breathtaking speed.
"What?"
"Boom! Boom!"
Flames erupted, filling the sky with searing light. A figure, battered and scorched, was forced out of hiding.
"Single-handed seals."
"And releasing a Fire Style of this scale in an instant."
"No wonder he's the disciple of Tsunade-sama."
The Anbu, watching from the sidelines and refraining from intervening, could not suppress their exclamations of shock. Kiyoshi's display of skill left them speechless.
Facing Kiyoshi, who seemed entirely unbothered, Tenzo's expression grew serious. His hands flew through a sequence of seals.
"Swish—"
The ground ahead surged as a massive vine shot forth, winding rapidly toward Kiyoshi. Simultaneously, an army of vines exploded from all around, cutting off his escape route.
"Bang! Bang!"
The next moment—
The thick vines shattered, splintering from the tremendous force. Dust billowed, swirling through the air, as Kiyoshi's figure emerged, calm and unscathed.
Tenzo's face paled, and, recognizing the danger, he immediately retreated.
Kiyoshi made no attempt to pursue him, instead placing his hands in his pockets, speaking indifferently, "That's enough. Go back and report."
"I warned you before," Kiyoshi continued, "don't embarrass yourself with such a half-baked Wood Release."
"You—"
Tenzo's face darkened, anger churning inside him.
"Whoosh... Whoosh..."
At this moment, the surrounding Anbu, seeing the battle had ended, approached Tenzo.
"That's enough, Tenzo," said Kakashi, the leader of the Anbu group. He glanced at Tenzo, who looked reluctant to stop.
"He's out of your league."
"Captain Kakashi, I..." Tenzo's reluctance was plain as he hung his head. "Understood."
"Poof—"
A cloud of smoke rose as he re-donned his Anbu attire.
"Oh? So, you're... Kakashi Hatake?"
Kiyoshi looked at Kakashi, surprised. He had thought Kakashi had already left the Anbu, but apparently, that hadn't happened yet.
If he remembered correctly, the Third Hokage would soon pull Kakashi out of Anbu to serve as a mentor for graduating academy students.
Of course, because of his past, Kakashi would insist on team cooperation, continuously failing graduating students in his survival exercises and sending them back to the academy.
"You know me?" Kakashi looked at Kiyoshi calmly, but a glint of admiration lingered in his eyes.
This boy was undeniably a genius—Kakashi couldn't deny that even his younger self hadn't been on this level.
He only stared at Kiyoshi, saying nothing.
"You're no fun." Kiyoshi muttered, unfazed. He looked back at Tenzo and, with a sly smile, said, "You seem pretty upset, don't you?"
"..."
Tenzo's eyelids twitched, though he forced himself to respond indifferently, "No, not at all."
"Actually, if the Hokage wanted to gauge my strength, this wasn't necessary."
Inside the Hokage's office—
Hiruzen felt a pang of embarrassment, realizing Kiyoshi's words were directed at him.
Secretly testing his own disciple's, student abilities was indeed somewhat unbecoming.
...
"But I am a person of pure heart and character," Kiyoshi said, gazing at the assembled Anbu, including Kakashi.
Smiling, he continued, "Since the Hokage requested it, I naturally have to oblige."
"All of you—come at me together."
