"What?"

"Did I hear that right?"

"You want to challenge all of us?"

"Don't you think you're being a little too confident?"

"Just because you overpowered Tenzo, do you think you can take on all of us?"

"Don't get so full of yourself."

"Every single one of us in the Anbu was carefully selected from Konoha's best shinobis."

Hearing this, the Anbu members looked at Kiyoshi in disbelief. Did this kid seriously just say he was going to take on all of them? 

Every one of them had been chosen as elite among the elites. With their extensive training and tight cooperation, their combined strength was far more than the sum of their parts.

"This brat."

Inside the Hokage's office, Hiruzen's expression shifted, a hint of intrigue in his eyes. 

Watching Kiyoshi challenge the entire Anbu squad Kakashi had brought, he leaned more and more towards a certain suspicion.

"Could it be that he really can pull it off?"

However, Hiruzen's lips twitched as he remembered Kiyoshi's earlier self-praise.

Pure-hearted? Kind and gentle? Respectful and compassionate?

If it weren't for the incident with the Hokage Rock cracking, he might have actually believed it.

He'd been observing Kiyoshi for quite some time now. Yet he'd never noticed before how much chaos this kid could stir up.

"Kiyoshi, it's only been half a year, and you've grown so much more cocky?"

At that moment, a female Anbu member with long purple hair, wearing a unique animal mask, stepped forward. 

Glaring at Kiyoshi, she scolded, "Even if you are a student of Tsunade-sama, you shouldn't be so conceited."

Her voice was clear and pleasant, yet her scolding tone carried a hint of concern. 

It was obvious she knew Kiyoshi, fearing he'd let his talent go to his head and end up being taught a harsh lesson by the Anbu.

"Yugao-nee, this isn't arrogance, it's confidence."

Kiyoshi looked at the Anbu woman before him, recognizing her instantly. With a smile, he shrugged and said, "To avoid accidentally hurting you, I'll leave you out of this fight."

Uzuki Yugao.

About half a year ago, she had been severely injured on a secret mission after being pursued by an Iwagakure Anbu squad. 

Kiyoshi, who happened to be traveling with Tsunade and passing through the Land of Fire border, had saved her just in time.

Due to her loss of blood, she'd fainted and hadn't witnessed his skills. She only knew that he was skilled in medical ninjutsu. 

However, Kiyoshi, who had treated her thoroughly, knew how remarkable she was.

In every sense of the word.

"But—you may lose..."

Before Yugao could finish her sentence, Kiyoshi interrupted her with a wave of his hand.

"Nah, I'd win."

He turned his gaze to Tenzo and Kakashi, gesturing for them to start. "Stop wasting time, let's begin."

He didn't mind showing these Anbu what true strength looked like.

After all, at this point, there wasn't a single person in Konoha he feared.

"..."

Seeing this, Kakashi couldn't help but twitch the corner of his mouth behind his mask. He had never met someone as audacious as Kiyoshi. 

Did he realize he was facing an entire Anbu squad?

With him as the Anbu Captain, and Tenzo as a Squad Leader, there were eighteen seasoned, battle-hardened elite ninjas here.

Aside from a few younger shinobis who joined early, like Yugao, the rest were all of special Jonin level or higher.

An Anbu squad was composed of four teams, totaling seventeen people. Each team had a Jonin-level captain. 

And with him and Tenzo, both elite Jonin themselves, it was an impressive formation. Even the Third Hokage, given his age, would not dare take them lightly.

"Enough talking, actions speak louder."

Kiyoshi rolled his eyes, then leaped back, landing atop a tree branch. 

Looking down at the gathered Anbu, he turned his gaze towards Tenzo beside Kakashi and said calmly, "I imagine my assessment of you earlier didn't sit well, did it?"

"Well, then, let me show you what real Wood Release looks like."

With that, Kiyoshi clapped his hands together, summoning his chakra.

"Wood Style: Deep Forest Emergence!"

"What?"

In an instant, both the Anbu present, led by Kakashi, and the Third Hokage, watching from his office and already harboring suspicions, were dumbfounded.

"Boom! Boom!"

Almost immediately, as if to confirm their fears, saplings burst from the ground, growing rapidly. In seconds, they transformed into towering trees that reached toward the sky.

"Boom!"

In an instant, countless massive trees, seemingly alive, surged forward with overwhelming force. 

Like an unstoppable wave, they bore down on Kakashi, Tenzo, and the others, who stared in shock.

"Is it really the Wood Release?"

Tenzo was utterly stunned, his gaze fixed on the advancing, lush forest. His heart was struck by an unprecedented impact. 

No wonder Kiyoshi had dismissed his Wood Release, Kiyoshi's ability was on an entirely different level.

"Hurry! Don't just stand there." Kakashi's expression had completely changed. 

The towering forest pressing down on them from all sides sent shivers down his spine. 

Without looking back, he yelled at the others, "If you don't want to get crushed, put up an Earth-Style wall together."

He quickly formed hand seals, and the other Anbu members who had Earth Release snapped out of their daze, forming seals with lightning speed. 

They pressed their hands to the ground, shouting in unison.

"Earth Style: Mud Wall."

"Boom!"

Instantly, massive walls of earth rose up, forming a barrier that stood, just barely, between the Anbu and the oncoming forest, which resembled an unstoppable flood.

Watching the futile resistance, Kiyoshi spoke calmly, "This paper shield is just delaying the inevitable."
