Chapter 91: 91. Shattered Realities
The tension in the air was palpable as Naruto, Sasuke, and Anon led their team toward the borders of the Hidden Stone Village. The sky had darkened unnaturally, swirling clouds above them a reminder that something sinister was brewing. The convergence was happening again, and this time it felt even more powerful.
Naruto glanced at Sasuke, who had his Sharingan activated, scanning the area for any signs of danger. Anon moved silently beside them, his expression unreadable as always, but his Void energy pulsed faintly in the air, making the space around him feel distorted and thin.
"How close are we?" Naruto asked, his voice low but tense. His instincts told him that they were near, but the oppressive energy in the air was making it difficult to pinpoint their exact location.
Sasuke's eyes narrowed as he focused on the horizon. "We're almost there. I can feel the rift—its energy is distorting the space around it. It's larger than the last one."
Anon nodded, his voice calm despite the gravity of the situation. "We need to contain it before it fully opens. If it does, more enemies will pour through, and we might not be able to stop them this time."
As they crested a ridge, the full view of the rift came into sight. It was massive—far larger than the one they had encountered near the Leaf Village. A swirling vortex of dark energy hovered above the ground, its tendrils reaching out like fingers clawing at the sky. The air around it shimmered, and the ground below seemed to ripple as if reality itself was being pulled apart.
Naruto's eyes widened. "That's… huge."
Sasuke nodded grimly. "This isn't just a rift—it's a full-blown tear in the fabric of reality. If we don't close it soon, it could engulf the entire area."
Anon stepped forward, his eyes fixed on the rift. "We'll need to use everything we've learned to contain it. Time, Void, Light, Shadow—it's all connected. This rift isn't just pulling in energy from our world—it's drawing from other realities."
Naruto clenched his fists, his chakra flaring as he steeled himself for the battle ahead. "Then let's shut it down. We can't let it spread any further."
Before they could move any closer, the ground beneath them trembled violently. The rift pulsed with a dark light, and from its depths, figures began to emerge—more of the dark, cloaked enemies they had fought before. But this time, their energy felt different, stronger.
"Looks like they're not going to let us close it without a fight," Sasuke muttered, his eyes narrowing as he prepared for battle.
Anon's gaze hardened. "We'll have to split up. I'll handle the rift itself, try to stabilize it. You two focus on the enemies. We can't let them distract us for too long."
Naruto grinned, his usual confidence returning. "You got it, Anon. We'll take care of these guys."
Sasuke nodded in agreement, already forming hand seals for a powerful jutsu. "Let's move."
The Fight Begins
The dark figures charged toward them, their forms blurring with speed as they closed the distance. Naruto wasted no time, forming a massive Rasengan infused with Time energy, launching it toward the first wave of enemies. The attack hit with devastating force, the energy distorting time itself as the figures were sent flying backward, their bodies disintegrating into nothingness.
"Not so tough now, are you?" Naruto shouted as he spun into the next attack, forming two more Rasengans in each hand, their energy crackling with Eclipse power.
Sasuke moved with precision, his Chidori sparking with Void energy as he weaved through the battlefield. His Sharingan tracked every movement, every flicker of power as he struck down enemy after enemy, his attacks warping the space around them, leaving no room for escape.
But as fast as they took down their enemies, more emerged from the rift, their numbers seemingly endless. The air around them grew heavier with dark energy, and it became clear that this wasn't just a simple wave of enemies. The rift was feeding them, giving them strength.
"They're getting stronger," Sasuke growled, his eyes flickering with frustration. "We can't keep this up forever. We need to cut them off at the source."
Naruto nodded, his face grim. "I'm on it."
He darted toward the rift, his body glowing with Time energy as he prepared to unleash his most powerful attack. But before he could get close enough, one of the dark figures appeared in front of him, faster than any of the others.
"You won't stop us," the figure hissed, its voice like nails scraping against metal. "This world will fall, just like the others. The convergence cannot be undone."
Naruto gritted his teeth, refusing to back down. "Watch me."
With a burst of speed, Naruto charged forward, his Rasengan ready to strike. But just as he was about to land the blow, the figure vanished, reappearing behind him in a flash of dark energy.
Before Naruto could react, the figure's hand shot out, striking him in the back with a blast of dark energy. The force of the blow sent him crashing to the ground, the wind knocked out of him.
Sasuke appeared beside him in an instant, his eyes burning with the power of his Sharingan as he blocked the next attack with his Chidori, the Void energy sparking violently against the dark figure's power.
"You okay?" Sasuke asked, his voice tight with focus as he kept his guard up.
Naruto coughed, pushing himself back to his feet. "Yeah, I'm fine. But these guys are different. Stronger than the last ones."
Sasuke nodded grimly. "They're drawing power from the rift. The longer it stays open, the stronger they'll get. We need to shut it down now."
Anon, who had been working to stabilize the rift, glanced back at them, his face set in concentration. "I'm almost done, but I need a few more minutes. Keep them off me."
Naruto and Sasuke exchanged a glance, their determination renewed. They knew what they had to do.
"Let's finish this," Naruto said, his voice filled with resolve as he formed another Rasengan, this one pulsing with even more energy than before.
Sasuke nodded, his Chidori crackling with Void power as he prepared for one final assault.
Together, they charged toward the dark figures, their attacks moving in perfect unison as they tore through the battlefield. The energy of their combined techniques rippled through the air, disrupting the flow of dark energy around the rift.
Anon, sensing the shift in the balance of power, raised his hands, his Void energy swirling around him as he focused on the rift. The tendrils of dark energy that had been feeding the enemies began to falter, and the space around the rift began to stabilize.
"Almost there…" Anon muttered under his breath, his focus razor-sharp as he channeled every ounce of his energy into closing the rift.
The enemies, sensing that their source of power was being cut off, grew more desperate. They lunged at Naruto and Sasuke with renewed fury, their attacks growing more erratic and dangerous.
But Naruto and Sasuke held their ground, their movements fluid and precise as they defended Anon with everything they had. Each strike they landed disrupted the dark energy around them, weakening their enemies bit by bit.
Finally, with a surge of power, Anon released the last of his Void energy, sealing the rift in a blinding flash of light. The dark figures let out a final, piercing wail before dissolving into nothingness, their forms consumed by the collapse of the rift.
As the dust settled, the battlefield grew eerily quiet. The rift was gone, and the enemies had been defeated, but the weight of what had just occurred still hung heavy in the air.
Naruto let out a deep breath, wiping the sweat from his brow as he looked over at Anon. "Nice work."
Anon nodded, though his expression remained serious. "This isn't over. There are more rifts out there, and more enemies like this."
Sasuke's eyes flickered with frustration. "We need to figure out where they're coming from. If we don't find the source, we'll just be fighting these battles forever."
Naruto clenched his fists, his face set with determination. "Then we'll find it. No matter how long it takes. We'll stop this."
