Not Quite Back to the Future

David stepped into Misty's Esoterica, the ambient lighting and soothing aura of the place providing a stark contrast to the bustling streets of Night City. The familiar scent of incense filled the air as he made his way to the back of the shop, where Misty's consultation space awaited.

Misty, clad in her mystical attire, greeted him with a warm smile. Her eyes, looked over his shoulder to the girl standing behind him. 

 "David, welcome. What brings you to the realms of the mystic today?" Misty inquired, her voice carrying a serene melody.

David took a moment to gather his thoughts before responding, "I've made a choice, Misty. I've embraced the fusion of man and machine."

The girl behind the counter smiled David was fun to talk with and even humored her view of the world. She even saw him talking with Gary outside on a few separate occasions. 

“Great, I’ll let Vik know you’re here.” Misty says with a smile.

Lucy walked up to David. “She seems off.” 

“Nah it's just Misty, she's really friendly once you get past all of the spiritual stuff.” David says 

Misty suddenly looks back up at the pair. “He’s ready for you out back.” 

“Thanks, Misty.” David says walking out the back door to go down the stairs to the Ripper Docs office.  

David walked into Vik’s clinic and the ripper doc was sitting at his computer watching a boxing match.

“Hey Vik,” David says

“Hey, David? Is that the Lucy I keep hearing about?” Vik asks

“Yes, Lucy I want you to meet Vik. He’s the best ripper doc in Night City” David says 

Lucy nodded, offering a polite smile. "Nice to meet you, Vik. David has spoken highly of you."

Vik grinned, his cybernetic eyes flickering with a warm glint. "Likewise, Lucy. David here is a regular at my clinic. What can I do for you today?"

“I passed my exams which means Helen’s promise is in effect,” David says with a smile.

Vik sighs looking at the young kid with a slightly worried grandfatherly gaze.

“You sure you wanna go through with this kid? I mean some of the stuff she got you is no joke.” Vik states

“Absolutely.” David says with a smile

As David settled into the chair, Vik activated the diagnostic equipment, scanning David's physical and cybernetic makeup. The hum of machinery filled the room as Vik studied the results on his monitor.

"So, Helen's promise, huh?" Vik remarked, his fingers dancing across the holographic interface. "She's not one to make empty gestures. This gear she has set aside for you is some serious stuff. Think you can handle a Mk3 Warp dancer?” Vik asks

“What exactly is that?” David asks

“As far as the paperwork is concerned its a reflex booster and that is all that it is. Although rumors behind the corporate black box inolve quantom theory and literally slowing down time.” Vik says

“Nova.” David mutters

“Is that it?” Lucy asks

“No, there is several other upgrades although he is only permitted to get the Mk3 and a set of Kiroshi’s until he fulfills other requirements.” Vik states
