Chapter 7: Unstoppable Growth: Seven Days in Gorbo Mountain
For seven consecutive days, Ye Jia roamed tirelessly through Gorbo Mountain.
His goal was simple: farming fragments and training!
Whenever he felt tired or low on stamina, Ye Jia would immediately consume a green, healthy, non-polluting, side-effect-free stamina pill. In an instant, he'd be refreshed, energized, and ready to go!
With enough stamina, Ye Jia focused on laser beam attacks and light-speed movement training.
Even the swift and agile great apes of the jungle were no match for him. They were utterly crushed, completely outclassed!
Not only that, but Ye Jia noticed that his punching speed had significantly increased.
From a hundred punches per second on the first day to a thousand punches per second now… Within just seven days, Ye Jia's strength had grown tenfold!
This improvement meant Ye Jia now had what it took to set sail as a pirate, follow in Luffy's footsteps, and conquer the distant seas.
Boom! Boom! Boom!...
In less than a second, his light-speed punches ended another ferocious beast's life.
"The Red-Mane Tiger? That's it? I thought it'd be tougher. Two shots and some light-speed punches, and it's done for!"
Ye Jia clicked his tongue as he looked at the lifeless beast.
The Red-Mane Tiger was a creature Ye Jia had been explicitly warned about when he first arrived in the One Piece world and learned hunting skills from local hunters.
Known for its speed, tough hide, and claws that could tear through steel, it was considered the ruler of Gorbo Mountain.
Even if all the hunters teamed up, they would barely stand a chance against it.
But now...
With two laser beams and a brief burst of light-speed punches, Ye Jia had slain it effortlessly.
"Seven days. I've even hunted the Red-Mane Tiger. There's no challenge left in Gorbo Mountain anymore."
"It's time to set sail!"
"But first, let's see how many stamina pill fragments I've gathered."
Ye Jia clicked on the stamina pill icon in his mind.
Stamina Pill Fragments (6859/30)
"I can synthesize over 200 stamina pills! This is incredible!"
Seven days of relentless effort had earned Ye Jia a treasure trove of over 200 stamina pills, a massive boon for his upcoming voyage.
"Let's head back to the village!"
...
On the path to Windmill Village, Ye Jia carried the carcass of a massive beast at lightning speed.
His increased strength allowed him to lift the several-ton corpse as if it weighed nothing, without hindering his sprinting pace.
"Maggie, I'm back!"
At the tavern entrance, Ye Jia dumped the beast's body onto the ground with a loud "boom," kicking up a cloud of dust.
"Did you kill this? Ye Jia, you're amazing!"
Maggie emerged from the tavern, astonished at the sight of the massive beast.
"Hehe, just a small feat! Maggie, get some help to cook this beast—I'm treating everyone in Windmill Village to a feast!"
Ye Jia declared boldly.
Having been taken in and cared for by the villagers after arriving in the One Piece world, he felt it was only right to repay their kindness now that he had grown stronger.
"Sure!" Maggie agreed with a smile.
...
That evening, the tavern hosted a grand bonfire feast. The beast's massive body was roasted and served, drawing nearly the entire village.
Ye Jia laughed and chatted with the villagers, clinking mugs and downing beer with gusto.
"Old Casca, you're skilled at building ships, right?"
Ye Jia approached an old man with a black headscarf, his face flushed from the drinks.
"Ye Jia, are you planning to set sail?" Old Casca asked, burping slightly.
"Of course! Remember Luffy? He's got a bounty of 300 million now—that's incredible! I want to follow in his footsteps and become a great pirate too!"
Ye Jia had heard about Luffy's exploits after the Enies Lobby incident, where his bounty skyrocketed to 300 million.
"Becoming a pirate? You'd better think it through. The Navy is cracking down hard on pirates these days. If you get caught, you'll end up in jail!" Old Casca teased.
"See that beast? I took it down with a single punch! Don't worry, Old Casca—I'll be stronger than Luffy someday!" Ye Jia said confidently.
"If you're determined, I won't stop you. But you'll need a ship worth at least a million Berries to get out of the East Blue," Old Casca remarked, taking another swig of beer.
"A million Berries…"
Ye Jia frowned.
In his time in the One Piece world, earning a million Berries felt like an impossible feat. Hunting beasts might bring in a few thousand Berries per kill, but he'd need to hunt thousands of them—and that's assuming he could find buyers.
"Tell you what. Since you treated me to this feast, I'll give you a tip," Old Casca said, noticing Ye Jia's troubled expression.
"Old Casca, you're the best! Spill it!" Ye Jia raised his mug in gratitude.
"It's simple. If you're strong enough, why not hunt bounties? The Navy offers hefty rewards for pirates. Take down one, and you'll have more than enough for a ship," Old Casca suggested.
Ye Jia's eyes lit up.
Of course!
With his newfound strength, hunting pirates for their bounties was the quickest way to make a fortune. Some pirates had bounties in the millions, even billions, like Luffy.
"Head to Central Street. Plenty of pirates gather there daily. Some are so strong even the Navy struggles to deal with them. If you're confident in your abilities, go collect a bounty and rid the world of some scum," Old Casca advised.
Hearing this was like being handed a treasure map.
"Old Casca, you're a lifesaver! If you ever want more meat, just come to the tavern—I'll make sure you're fed for life!" Ye Jia laughed heartily.
