Chapter 64: Chapter 64: The Execution
The black-and-red lightning surrounding William and Hancock flashed ominously across the screen, a storm of unyielding resolve and power. Strong individuals from across the seas recognized the unmistakable aura of Conqueror's Haki. Weak individuals watching could only wonder at the strange phenomenon, but Whitebeard, Big Mom, Kaido, and Shanks all knew what it meant—and they were impressed.
On Marineford, the atmosphere was tense. Sengoku and the higher-ups of the Navy had ugly expressions on their faces. Their connection to the navy stationed at Sabaody had been cut off, the officers there rendered unconscious by the immense pressure of William and Hancock's haki. Sengoku slammed his fist onto his desk.
"Damn it! We're losing control of the situation! Akainu and Aokiji better get there before it's too late!"
Meanwhile, Garp sat in the corner, arms crossed, a faint smirk on his face. "That brat has guts. You have to admit, Sengoku, he's quite the showman."
"Garp!" Sengoku barked. "This is no time for jokes! He's executing Celestial Dragons live!"
Back on Sabaody, William stood tall in front of the camera, his signature grin laced with venom. The red-and-black lightning crackling around him slowly dissipated, but the intensity in his eyes burned even brighter.
"The World Government wiped out my people and burned my home." He began, his voice carrying the weight of his fury. " They thought I'd cower, thought I'd disappear into the shadows. But they were wrong. Today, I declare to the entire world: I will kill every Celestial Dragon I meet. And one day, I will go to Mary Geoise and slaughter every last one of those pigs. And I will end the tyranny of the World Government."
The silence that followed his words was deafening. Even the strongest watching the broadcast felt the weight of his conviction. Then William gestured to Sandersonia and Marigold, who dragged Saint Rosward forward. The fat Celestial Dragon stumbled, his fish-tank helmet making a hollow thud as it hit the stage.
Rosward struggled but couldn't escape the grip of the two women. "Unhand me, you lowly humans!" he screeched, his voice shrill and indignant. "Do you know who I am? I am Saint Rosward, a Celestial Dragon! I will send an Admiral after you—no, the entire Navy will come for you! You are nothing but insects. Unhand me!"
Hancock's eyes darkened, her patience snapping. With one swift motion, she slapped him hard across the face. The sound echoed through the room, and the fish-tank helmet shattered, glass shards raining down as blood and a few broken teeth flew from Rosward's mouth.
William chuckled darkly, summoning a gleaming sword from his spatial dimension. Its blade shimmered ominously in the light as he walked toward Rosward. The Celestial Dragon's bravado vanished, replaced by the cold realization that he was about to die.
"Wait!" Rosward stammered, his voice trembling. "I—I can give you money! All the money you want! I can make you a noble! Please, just let me go!"
William didn't even blink. He raised the sword, his expression unchanging. "You had your chance to act like a human being, but you chose to be a monster. Monsters deserve to be slain."
In one clean motion, William brought the sword down, beheading Saint Rosward in front of the entire world. The body crumpled to the floor, blood pooling around it, as the head rolled to the side, the lifeless eyes staring into nothingness.
The world was stunned.
Reactions Around the World
In Whitebeard's ship, the legendary pirate let out a booming laugh. "Gurarara! That brat has some backbone! Executing a Celestial Dragon... It's about time someone shook up this rotten world."
On Whole Cake Island, Big Mom clapped her hands together, her cackling laughter echoing through her castle. "MA MA MA MA. Which one of you girls should marry him and bring him into our family? Or should I marry him myself?"
"Ma-Mama," Perospero stammered, his face pale. "Perhaps that's not wise. The World Government will come down hard on anyone associated with him."
Kaido, in a drunken stupor, lifted his sake cup and shouted, "Worororororo. This brat has done what I couldn't... what none of us dared! Damn it! Why couldn't I have had the guts to do the same?" Then he started crying.
Ben Beckman exhaled a cloud of smoke. "He declared war on the World Government in the most public way possible. There's no going back for him now. And many people might attempt to follow his example."
Shanks, leaning against the mast of his ship with a serious expression. "This is going to turn the seas upside down."
On Marie Geoise, the Five Elders were seething with rage.
"This is an insult we cannot tolerate," Saint Marcus Mars growled. "He has openly challenged our authority."
Saint Topman Warcury slammed his fist onto the table. "We must make an example out of him."
Saint Ethanbaron V. Nusjuro, calmly cleaning a sword, remarked, "This William is more troublesome than Dragon and his Revolutionary Army."
Saint Shepherd Ju Peter folded his arms. "Should we send Garling to deal with him?"
Saint Jaygarcia Saturn shook his head. "No. Let the admirals deal with him. They are more than enough."
Back on Marineford, Sengoku's face was a mask of fury. He turned to his officers. "What's the status of Akainu and Aokiji? Have they reached Sabaody yet?"
"They're en route, sir," an officer replied. "But they won't arrive for a while."
Garp, watching the broadcast, burst out laughing. "That commentary on the Celestial Dragon was gold! 'Monsters deserve to be slain.' He's got a point, Sengoku."
"Garp!" Sengoku snapped. "This isn't a joke! Stop laughing!"
Sengoku turned to his communications officer. "Call Kizaru and tell him to stop whatever he's doing right now and to head to Sabaody immediately!"
Back at Sabaody, William turned to the camera, his wicked smile returning. "Now, world, I promised you the first execution of a Celestial Dragon, and I delivered. But don't worry—this is just the beginning. There will be more to come."
