Half a month passed in the blink of an eye, and the atmosphere at the training ground was quite strange. When free training time arrived, everyone's attention was focused on Loya.

Today, who would he challenge?

In front of everyone, Loya approached Carol with a smile and initiated a challenge: "Senior Carol, let's have a sparring session!"

"I... I have a stomachache!"

Carol's face turned pale as he quickly sought to refuse, but Loya seemed prepared and handed him some anti-diarrheal medicine.

Hmm?

He had the medicine ready?

Come on, give me a break!

In front of so many acquaintances, couldn't he leave him a little dignity?

Looking into Loya's innocent eyes, Carol's expression shifted between green and white as he gritted his teeth and picked up a wooden sword.

Damn newbie!

Does he really think I'm afraid of him?

Today, I'll show you the power of "Purple Hair"!

"We'll compete in swordsmanship!"

"Alright!"

The two walked toward the ring with their wooden swords.

Seeing this scene, the other veterans relaxed their tense nerves, collectively letting out a sigh of relief, some even feeling a bit of dread.

"It's Purple Hair Carol!"

"Oh no, poor Carol."

"Hope he can last ten minutes."

"Ten minutes? What are you thinking? At most three minutes!"

The veterans were apprehensive.

They were genuinely scared!

Ever since Reinas opened Pandora's box half a month ago, every day since then, the rookie Loya had challenged them.

The louder the name, the higher the chance of being challenged!

If they could win, it wouldn't be a big deal. But the problem was that rookie Loya was as strong as a monster; most veterans were no match for him.

Even if someone managed to win against him once, they would definitely be beaten back the next day—it was just like going from heaven to hell.

Being defeated by a newcomer was embarrassing enough; no one wanted to get beaten for no reason. After all, the first challenger Reinas had been in the hospital for three days!

As for refusing...

If they refused a challenge from a rookie, how could they still have any face left?

"Ahhh!!!"

In less than three minutes, Carol was rolling on the ring with a broken arm, his cries louder than that of a slaughtered pig.

The veterans instinctively shrank their necks.

They couldn't provoke him; they simply couldn't!

Atop the fortress tower, highest floor.

Colonel Rod looked down at the training ground and rubbed his temples in frustration.

"This kid really knows how to stir up trouble!"

He was well aware of what had been happening recently; reports piled up on his desk were all complaints about Loya disrupting military discipline.

Of course, he hadn't forgotten about Loya.

Young, hardworking, and talented.

It was hard not to like such a rookie.

Originally, he wanted Loya to train more within the branch to build a solid foundation for future development as a key member.

But in less than two months, the veterans were being worn down and becoming timid. If this continued unchecked, that kid would have his tail held high in no time.

He needed to find something for this brat to do!

Rod pondered for a moment.

Going after pirates was not an option.

Aside from powerful pirate crews like the Black Cat Pirates, most pirate crews would avoid the navy; finding them wasn't easy. Without leads, the navy wouldn't act recklessly.

Moreover, it would be too risky for rookies to face pirates on their first outing. This wasn't just about strength; life-and-death battles were completely different from sparring sessions.

Newcomers needed time to grow.

"Let's take a trip to West Rob Village."

Rod quickly made up his mind.

Resources at the branch were limited; relying solely on support from the World Government made it difficult to replenish weapons and ammunition. The warships also needed significant repairs after several battles.

He needed to secure some funding!

In the evening.

Loya and Fullbody arrived at the dining hall. The previously noisy environment quieted down significantly as soon as they entered. The veterans at the food counter saw Loya approaching and actively made way for him.

"Please go ahead!"

Their polite demeanor practically wrote those words on their faces.

It felt like he was bullying someone.

"Thank you."

Loya smiled and nodded without hesitation. He grabbed tongs and piled meat onto his plate; his appetite was at least five times that of an average marine and he got hungry particularly fast.

After finishing getting his food, Loya noticed that almost all seats were taken.

He had to share a table.

Reinas happened to be sitting nearby. Upon noticing Loya's gaze, he instinctively stood up to give way.

That helpless look was quite pitiful.

"No need for that."

Loya quickly waved his hand and sat down across from Reinas with his plate. "Senior Reinas, you sit; I'll just share a table."

"Ah... okay."

Reinas hesitated for quite some time before carefully sitting down like a timid wife. After holding back for ages, he finally whispered: "Loya bro, just call me Reinas."

"That sounds good; I won't hold back then."

Loya didn't like calling people seniors either—they were all just soldiers; what's with this senior-junior distinction? Whoever is stronger is senior!

Time to eat!

In this vast world, eating well is paramount!

Loya switched into eating mode as food disappeared from his plate at an alarming rate—so fast that it left Reinas astonished.

How can he eat more than me?!

As he saw Loya nearing the bottom of his plate, Reinas swallowed hard and suggested: "Loya bro, should I get you another plate of meat?"

"Sure! Thanks!"

"Do you want juice?"

"Yes!"

After eating and drinking to satisfaction, Loya let out a contented burp and found himself looking at Reinas much more favorably now.

"Reinas, are there any other marines whose swordsmanship or martial arts are impressive?"

"Well... I'm afraid not."

Reinas shook his head decisively.

The branch was this small; among veterans with decent skills, most were not much better than him—and they had basically all been beaten by Loya once already.

"No one?"

Loya felt somewhat disappointed.

Practical combat was the best way to improve. In "World," he fought dozens of times daily until he could barely get up anymore.

This rapid improvement in combat skills made him eager for more challenges.

But with marines' limited skills available here, it had been several days since he faced an opponent who could apply any pressure on him—what's the point of crushing opponents?

Unfortunately, opponents simulated by "World" wouldn't improve either.

After some hesitation, Reinas said: "Loya bro, right now in our branch there might only be Corporal Morgan and Colonel Rod who can be your opponents."

"I really want to fight them."

Loya felt troubled by this situation.

The lieutenants in their branch mostly rose through seniority; their actual strength might not be much greater than that of elite marines fighting on the front lines.

Morgan was an exception among them.

Looking throughout the entire branch, only Colonel Rod could suppress Morgan. However, Morgan didn't seem like someone who would willingly spar with him; they rarely crossed paths in daily life.

Find an opportunity? Create an accidental meeting?

Suddenly, everything around them fell silent.

Loya looked up to see Morgan—the one he had been thinking about—walking into the dining hall directly toward him with an extremely serious expression on his face.

Everyone at Loya's table quickly stood up straight in attention.

Morgan coldly stated: "Rookie Loya and Fullbody! Prepare yourselves; tomorrow morning you will accompany the warship on its voyage!"

"Yes!"

Loya shouted back enthusiastically while feeling overjoyed inside.

He could finally go out to sea!

It seemed Morgan only came to deliver this urgent summons; after finishing speaking he turned to leave. Seeing this, Loya quickly stopped Morgan in his tracks.

"Please wait a moment! Corporal Morgan!"

"What is it?"

Morgan frowned slightly.

Taking a deep breath and locking eyes with Morgan intensely,

"I want to challenge you!"

In that instant, silence enveloped the dining hall as all marines raised their hands in unison—terrified enough that their tongues twisted into waves.

This kid has lost his mind!

Morgan stared at Loya for confirmation that he wasn't joking before slightly nodding with an unusual smile appearing on his face.

"Let's head to the training ground!"
