Chapter 9: Chapter 9: A Sudden Change (Part 2)
Just as little Robin was running toward the Tree of Knowledge, Nico Olvia had already arrived at the Tree of Knowledge and met with Dr. Kuroba and the others.
While the conversation between Dr. Kuroba and Nico Olvia was not mentioned, many of the archaeologists had already declared their unwavering resolve to protect the Tree of Knowledge and safeguard these important historical records.
After everyone finished speaking, Dr. Kuroba gently said, "Speaking of which, you must have other things you want to do, right?"
Olvia lowered her head. "But I can't see her."
Dr. Kuroba stroked his beard. "She really does look a lot like you when you were a child. She's a rare genius. She became an archaeologist at the age of eight. Oh, by the way, your daughter is living with a boy who is a year older than her. But don't worry, your daughter is very happy living with him and smiles brightly every day."
"Who is he?" Olvia looked at Dr. Kuroba.
"His name is Fuster D. Shanlante. He carries the legacy of the D will, and he's quite an impressive little brat."
"Is that so? Then he should be able to protect Robin. As long as Robin is fine, that's all that matters. I've already set foot on a path of no return. I must sever ties with Robin and can't let her become the daughter of a criminal," Olvia silently apologized in her heart. "Robin, I'm sorry."
At that moment, an archaeologist hurriedly opened the door. "Dr. Kuroba, a ship flying the World Government flag has appeared!"
Dr. Kuroba calmly replied, "A World Government ship has come to the West Blue? It seems this matter is truly not simple!"
Afterward, Olvia instructed everyone not to mention knowing her and grabbed a gun before rushing outside.
Just as Olvia ran outside with her gun, the Navy and CP9 officially set foot on Ohara's land.
Meanwhile, little Robin, who had rushed back to the Tree of Knowledge, did not realize that she had just missed her mother.
Upon returning to the Tree of Knowledge, Robin immediately shut the door, and the archaeologists looked at the hurried little Robin with puzzled expressions.
Eventually, Dr. Kuroba spoke first. "What's wrong, Robin?"
Robin took a couple of deep breaths and immediately asked, "Did my mother come here?"
Some of the archaeologists looked surprised, but Dr. Kuroba, being the experienced one, quickly replied, "What are you talking about? How could your mother be here in Ohara?" Then, remembering Olvia's words "I can't let her become the daughter of a criminal," he snapped back to his senses and directly denied it. "What's going on? Why are you asking this all of a sudden?"
Robin felt a bit disappointed, but she still believed her mother had returned to Ohara; she just hadn't come to the Tree of Knowledge. "By the way, something big has happened! I heard that the Navy's warships are coming to this island to arrest all the scholars on it." If Robin had listened more closely in the village, she would've known this had become an open secret. Perhaps only Robin and Shanlante would find out the truth, and they would hear it from an outsider.
"Has there been a commotion in the village?" Dr. Kuroba's expression suggested he already knew, which surprised Robin. "That's not a warship; it's a World Government ship, and it seems it has already arrived on this island."
Dr. Kuroba approached Robin and crouched down in front of her. Placing his hands firmly on her shoulders, his face was serious as he said, "I'm afraid this is going to be the most severe investigation we've ever seen. Listen carefully, Robin! Even if the World Government people come, you must never say you're an archaeologist. No one would believe a child like you is a scholar. Do you understand?"
Robin felt like something big was going to happen, and at that moment, Shanlante suddenly burst through the door of the Tree of Knowledge.
Shanlante didn't bother talking to Robin much; he simply said, "Kid, listen carefully, you must never say you're an archaeologist. You have to remember that!" Then he stood up and ran toward the basement.
"What are you doing?" an archaeologist tried to stop Shanlante, but failed.
At that moment, the door was suddenly barged open, knocking an archaeologist to the ground, and a group of CP9 members stormed into the Tree of Knowledge.
"Step aside! Stop what you're doing! Raise your hands and go outside!"
Dr. Kuroba stood up. "How violent."
A CP9 member immediately replied, "This research facility in Ohara is suspected of committing a major crime by deciphering the true history. We are here for a thorough search. Everyone, go outside immediately."
Dr. Kuroba walked up to the CP9 member and fearlessly said, "Don't ruin everything. What you're about to destroy are priceless treasures that you can't even imagine."
But the CP9 members weren't going to listen to an old man, no matter how famous an archaeologist he was. "I'm under no obligation to listen to your opinions. Take them away!"
Several CP9 members approached and began taking the archaeologists away. Meanwhile, Shanlante was the only one left in the basement, thinking about how to deal with the enormous historical texts.
The Navy also began announcing to the villagers, "The archaeologists on this island are now suspected of being demons attempting to destroy the world…"
Though the villagers grumbled about this, the CP9 members paid no attention. "We are simply here to deliver the message. If anyone ignores what we say, we bear no responsibility for what happens," one of the CP9 members said nonchalantly as he adjusted his glasses.
The villagers were stunned, then hurriedly packed their things, preparing to board the evacuation ships and temporarily leave Ohara.
But little did they know, the ship they were boarding was a death trap.
At the same time, Robin's mother, Olvia, was captured by CP9's current leader, Spandam.
Spandam also revealed that the World Government was planning to make an example out of Ohara to show the consequences of pursuing the Void Century.
The search by CP9 inside the Tree of Knowledge had begun.
All the archaeologists had been gathered outside the Tree of Knowledge, and little Robin looked at the fleeing crowd in the distance, her eyes filled with confusion.
At that moment, Dr. Kuroba pointed and said, "Robin, there seems to be an evacuation ship over there. We don't know what the World Government will do next. You should go there quickly."
"I won't!" Robin directly refused. "There are no good people on that ship. I want to stay with you all. Besides, Shanlante still doesn't know what's going on. I must wait for him." Everyone on the ship had once ridiculed Robin, so it was understandable that she didn't want to go.
"Because, I'm just like everyone else," it seemed Robin had completely forgotten about Saron's warning to not tell the World Government that she was an archaeologist.
"Enough, just go!" Dr. Kuroba wouldn't allow Robin to speak her mind so easily.
At that moment, Spandam arrived, dragging the unconscious Olvia, and threw her onto the ground in front of the gathered archaeologists.
Looking at Olvia, who was thrown to the ground by CP9, Robin thought to herself, "How cruel, she's a woman."
Dr. Kuroba suppressed his anger and said to Robin, "Robin, go to the evacuation ship! Hurry!"
When Olvia heard Robin's name, she regained consciousness and looked at Robin with a loving gaze, her appearance still quite healthy. She silently thought, "Robin, so you've grown up so much. It seems Dr. Kuroba was right. Robin is really doing well. From now on, I'll leave it to you, Shanlante!"
Robin, confused by the affectionate gaze Olvia gave her, which was similar to Shanlante's, blushed slightly.
Suddenly, the sound of an explosion startled everyone from their thoughts. Looking at the smoke rising from the Tree of Knowledge, the archaeologists were enraged.
"What are you doing?!"
"What do you think that library is?!"
Dr. Kuroba's eyes widened with anger and sorrow. "How reckless!"
Spandam, watching the effects of the explosion, nonchalantly remarked, "How splendid."
The transponder snail rang.
"Report, Spandam, we've found stones in the underground chamber that seem to be inscribed with the true history," the transponder snail reported, "But there's also an annoying little brat. Should we capture him?"
"Just a brat. You're CP9, can't you handle it? Get him!" Spandam said irritably. "Don't waste time!"
"Understood, sir!"
"It's Shanlante." Robin's heart was heavy, torn between worrying about Shanlante and the archaeologists.
At that moment, Shanlante had already engaged in combat with the CP9 members.
