Pokémon: A Trainer Who Masters the Six Powers from the Start

Chapter 99: Chapter 99: A Hero Rescues the Beauty?

"Nidorino, to the left! Use Flamethrower for a sweeping attack!"

"To the right now, Thunderbolt!"

Standing amidst the chaos of the battlefield, Ron continuously issued commands to his Nidorino, countering wave after wave of Beedrill assaults.

Ever since Nidorino defeated the first Beedrill, more and more of them had surged out of the forest.

Now, the ground was littered with the fainted forms of over a dozen Beedrill, yet more than twenty were still relentlessly attacking Nidorino.

Thankfully, Machamp's intimidating presence nearby kept the Beedrill from going all out. Combined with the type advantage of Flamethrower and Thunderbolt, Nidorino had managed to hold on so far.

"Nidorino, use Thunderbolt on the ones behind you!"

Electricity surged and crackled as Nidorino spun around. The orange-yellow current lashed out like a whip of lightning, striking a Beedrill squarely and sending it plummeting to the ground, steam rising from its body.

Taking advantage of Nidorino's turn, two Beedrill darted in, their stingers glowing as they unleashed Poison Sting.

From the left and right, two more Beedrill swooped in to attack with Twineedle.

"Nidorino, use Flamethrower, then follow up with Counter!"

Blazing flames erupted, incinerating the incoming Poison Sting attacks and forcing the Beedrill to retreat.

As Nidorino was enveloped in a crimson glow from Counter, the dual Twineedle strikes landed on its body.

Enduring the damage, Counter activated, releasing a red shockwave that blasted the two Beedrill back.

After fending off attacks from four Beedrill simultaneously, Nidorino was left panting heavily.

The fierce battle had pushed Nidorino to its limits.

"That's enough. Machamp, scare them off. If this continues, Nidorino won't last much longer."

Noticing the four Beedrill regrouping for another assault, Ron decided to call off the fight.

Holding out this long and defeating so many Beedrill had already proven Nidorino's strength.

At Ron's command, Machamp unleashed its full intimidating aura. The Beedrill hesitated, their advance faltering.

Machamp's Elite Mid-level presence was too overwhelming for this swarm of Beedrill, none of whom had even reached Elite-level strength.

Reluctantly casting one last look at Nidorino, the remaining Beedrill hurriedly carried off their fallen comrades and retreated into the forest, afraid Machamp might eliminate them all.

Activating his unique Fighting Aura, Ron swiftly healed Nidorino's injuries and restored its stamina. In just a minute, Nidorino was back in peak condition.

During the battle, Nidorino had successfully leveled up, reaching Level 18.

According to Ron's plan, he would help Nidorino evolve with a Moon Stone once it reached Level 29.

Eager to achieve this goal, Ron set off again with his rejuvenated partner.

Perched nimbly atop a tree, Persian didn't rush to search for Pokémon.

Given the presence of a Beedrill swarm nearby, most other wild Pokémon would avoid the area to steer clear of danger.

Picking a direction, Ron and his team continued their journey. About 20 minutes later, a new wild Pokémon was spotted by Persian.

However, before Nidorino could act, the sound of a battle echoed from afar.

After a moment of thought, Ron decided to investigate. There might be an unexpected opportunity waiting.

As they approached, a Rattata, paralyzed by fear of Machamp's menacing aura, remained frozen on the ground. It dared not move, worried Machamp's massive fists might come crashing down on it.

Eyeing the Rattata longingly, Nidorino reluctantly followed Ron and the others.

In an open grassy field, four bodyguards were huddled together, protecting a girl around seventeen or eighteen at the center. She wore her hair in a ponytail and exuded a vibrant, sunny demeanor.

Surrounding them was a group of uniformed individuals forming a tight encirclement, many wearing smug, cat-and-mouse grins.

"This is your last chance," one of the men, Kawada, said. "Hand over the woman, and I'll let the rest of you go."

"Our target is only her. You've already lost so many of your men fulfilling your duty. Why throw away your lives unnecessarily?"

Despite having the upper hand throughout the pursuit, Kawada had lost several of his own men to the desperate efforts of the girl's defenders.

Among the four bodyguards, three were Elite Low-level trainers Kawada dismissed as insignificant. The fourth, Fujiyama, matched Kawada in strength at Elite Mid-level, making him the only one worth considering.

Although Kawada was confident in his numerical advantage, any further fighting would inevitably lead to more casualties on his side.

"I only have one answer," Fujiyama said firmly, locking eyes with Kawada. "If you want to take Miss with you, you'll have to step over our dead bodies first!"

The other three said nothing, silently releasing all their Pokémon to form a final line of defense.

"Attack!"

Kawada's command barely left his lips before his Onix charged forward.

"Scyther, block it!"

At Fujiyama's command, Scyther launched itself into the fray. Spinning blades of wind from its Razor Wind attack clashed against Onix's charge, halting its momentum.

Moments later, twin streams of Flamethrower surged toward Scyther from both sides.

"Scyther, slice through them!"

Fujiyama's voice rang out as Scyther slashed its scythes, splitting the fire in two.

While the flames dissipated, Onix's Dragon Breath landed squarely on Scyther, pushing it back despite its upright stance.

Luckily, the attack didn't paralyze Scyther. If it had, Scyther wouldn't have been able to fend off Onix and the surrounding low-Elite Pokémon.

While Fujiyama and Kawada engaged in a fierce battle, the remaining three bodyguards struggled against the larger force. Outnumbered, they were quickly overwhelmed.

Hidden nearby, Ron observed the scene unfold, his mind drifting to countless stories of heroes rescuing damsels in distress.

Particularly, he recalled a classic saying about such moments:

"If the hero is handsome, the lady will say, 'My noble savior, how can I ever repay you? Please, let me offer myself in gratitude.'"

"But if the hero is just average, she might say, 'My noble savior, thank you deeply. I'll repay your kindness by serving you in the next life.'"

"By that logic," Ron mused, "with my looks, I'd probably fall into the 'offering herself in gratitude' category."

As he deliberated, the battlefield shifted once more.
