Pokemon Earth’s Parallel World: Dragon Trainer

Chapter 16 – Aftermath

Carpenter Town

Previously, when countless explosions suddenly rang out along the distant coastline, many people became nervous about what was happening there, fearing it might be the beasts coming again. Even a platoon of soldiers hurriedly went to investigate. However, upon arriving near the scene, they only encountered many hunters.

A few hours later in Malibo City Hall

All local officials had received the report from one of the personnel and couldn't help but frown.

"BlackSmoke Association claimed that they encountered a horde of beasts near the edge of the coastline. A foreigner named Kanraku Hiroshi from Nihon commanded them to fight the hunter team. The association has suggested declaring him and his disciple, Floyd Lester—a native descendant from the Northeast of Maharlika—wanted. The ship that docked there seems to have come from that Kanraku Hiroshi and miraculously disappeared earlier. It seems they escaped."

"Does this foreigner have a post-entry permit?" The Mayor in front also started expressing doubt, waiting for an explanation.

"Yes, according to the report, they appeared here nine days ago."

"What have they been doing here for nine days?" The Mayor asked.

"Here, Kanraku Hiroshi released some flyers," the personnel passed the flyers one by one to the local officials.

"Harmony between human and beasts, are you kidding me?" One of the local officials shouted.

"What an absurd idea!"

"They might be the ones who caused the scene there."

The vice mayor frowned, of course, he already knew about this. Isn't this what his son, Jonathan, talked about?

"I'm questioning why they were there with a large amount of ammo and explosive arms. Don't tell me they are saying they already knew these beasts were attacking, so they were prepared?" The vice mayor on the right said.

"Yes, that's what they are saying. They said they received news that a large horde of beasts was coming from Kanraku Hiroshi, so they planned to check it out. That's when the earlier incident happened. When the soldiers appeared, they only saw some hunters running back, saying there was a large beast there. By the time the soldiers reached the incident site, they saw nothing there except… damage caused by explosions, thousands of bullets scattered around, and… dozens of beast footprints," someone summarized and explained the statement from BlackSmoke Association.

"So there were really beasts, but why wasn't it reported? And by the way, are we sure what they said was real?" The old Mayor, with white hair, looked solemn and asked, harboring doubts about a possible conspiracy.

"So, we are confused about why they didn't report it and just randomly appeared there causing havoc, then later claimed they were fighting beasts. And yes, honorable sir, indeed, the soldiers took pictures of the evidence, and here they are. There are a lot of footprints." He handed the photos to the Mayor.

Seeing the photos with countless footprints one by one, the Mayor's expression grew even more solemn. The vice mayor also examined some photos, his face turning serious. So, it was real; the beasts had indeed appeared on the coastline, which was already inside human territory.

"And how come the soldiers and police patrols didn't even notice this! Who is the representative of the army outside, and who is the representative of the patrol police inside? Stand up!" The vice mayor scolded.

9 hours later, after the discussion, the conclusion was that they still had doubts about the intentions of BlackSmoke, and they needed to observe and inspect this association further. The association also needed to attend the next meeting to explain more clearly what had happened.

On the other hand, Martial Law was implemented in all towns under Malibo City, especially in Carpenter Town.

As for Kanraku Hiroshi, Floyd, and Suzuki Akiko, they were officially declared wanted.

As the vice mayor entered his house, he couldn't help but sigh in relief that the work was finished; he could relax now.

The election for local officials would start the next month, and he was planning to run for Mayor, as the current mayor also planned to run for a higher position. He needed to prepare for the campaign, but who would have thought that an incident would occur, causing people to criticize the government?

Walking into the house, he was met by panicked servants and his wife, who seemed to be in trouble.

"What happened?"

"Husband, hu hu, husband, he's… missing. We, we can't find him," his wife hurriedly hugged him and cried, feeling panicked as she stuttered.

"What do you mean, can you speak clearly?" The vice mayor was confused.

"Our son, Jonathan. He's missing."

"Sugoi, Floyd-san, you… you know how… to heal beasts? I'm really… really surprised now."

"Well, it's nothing, I just know a little of it," Floyd humbly smiled at Kanraku as he bandaged the arm of the injured Mankey. He actually recognized this Pokémon; it was also the Mankey who had fought Growlithe the day before.

"Mankey~" Mankey felt comfortable as every bruise disappeared a bit.

Earlier, when the battle started, some Pokémon were injured due to the fight. Floyd now understood why there were beasts on the protected coastline of humans; it was because Kanraku had made an agreement with them that they needed to gather at that place on the condition that they must not hurt humans, and he would take them away.

Fortunately, most of these Pokémon that Kanraku rescued were afraid of humans and didn't cause more trouble.

After learning this, Floyd felt guilt because he knew he was one of the reasons why this had happened to them, so he offered some help. At first, these Pokémon were wary of him because they were very afraid, but Machoke took the initiative to ask for help—not because he wanted to, but because his son Machop was in critical condition, he had no choice but to ask for help.

Kanraku, who was about to use his power, was surprised at how Floyd quickly healed their injuries, including the severely injured Machop, Pidgey with broken wings, etc. What surprised him even more was the unknown powder Floyd was applying to their wounds; it seemed more advanced than using berries. So, he approached Floyd and asked, "Floyd-san… would you… mind telling what this is? I can pay… if you want."

"You mean this?" Floyd held up a small empty bottle of potion.

"Well, it's not a big deal, I can tell you, wait…" He then reached into his backpack and took something out. A dried blue berry appeared.

"What's this?… Why do I feel… familiar, wait… ah, I know… I know this… this is a berry… that heals… I call it 'Iyashi no Mi #3', why did you… waste it?" Kanraku looked distressed seeing the berry.

"It's not wasting, but using the maximum output of the berry. Imagine if you eat the berry to heal yourself, you can only use it one time, am I right?" Floyd explained.

"One time? Isn't the… the berry's effect… just one time?" Kanraku looked confused as he gazed at the confident Floyd.

"Of course not, the reason I'm saying the maximum output is because of this… This fruit was already in a state of dryness, sheesh, it takes me 1 week to do this."

[Ding! Congratulations for making Healing Powder +40 points]

Floyd ignored the system prompt and demonstrated as he extracted the powder from the berry and collected it in the bottle.

"WHAT?" Kanraku's mouth widened in surprise.

"Now you know. I call this medicine Healing Powder," Floyd smiled and said.

"So, you can… actually… do it… That's it, that's it… Damn it, I have… wasted many berries," Kanraku exclaimed excitedly, feeling goosebumps as he looked at the method and hit his head, lamenting that he had wasted so much.

"Floyd-san, Arigatou Gozaimasu!" Kanraku was really happy he discovered the secret. It might be simple, but who would have thought you could make something like that. He really didn't choose the wrong person.

"No, no, actually I should be the one thanking you. If you hadn't helped me, I would really have died there. Kanraku-san, thank you very much," Floyd smiled lightly, waved his arms, and then bowed sincerely. Kanraku might not know how desperate he was at that time and how important his rescue was to him. Floyd had transmigrated to this parallel world with a system; if he had died early, it would have been a shame.
