Pokemon Earth’s Parallel World: Dragon Trainer

Chapter 87 – Prelude of the Traine

As the battle unfolded, everyone gained a new understanding of Floyd. They realized that this is a person who should not be provoked; otherwise, one would have to face the consequences.

Not only is he an exceptional breeder and trainer, but his Pokemon are also incredibly strong, second only to Kanraku. Moreover, his fighting style is wildly impressive, excelling in both strength and speed.

Some women in the crowd couldn't help but blush as they watched him.

(AN: Who?)

On the other hand, Jonathan hadn't thought that Le Mai Linh didn't know martial arts until now. If he had been skeptical before, the fight between Floyd and Le Mai Linh erased all doubts. Imagining himself in Floyd's position, he realized he wouldn't have survived a single move.

Just then, Le Mai Linh's gaze landed on him. She pointed her finger at him and smiled coldly, "Come here. I'm not teaching you martial arts, but I will teach you how to be flexible."

Jonathan was at a loss for words, and Le Mai Linh grew irritated. "What are you dawdling for? Hurry up and come here!"

"I want to learn Martial Arts," Jonathan muttered, trying to find a reason to stay where he was.

"What kind of martial arts do you think you can learn in a few weeks? Do you really think it's that instantaneous? You're delusional," Le Mai Linh snorted.

"You said before that you're teaching us?" Jonathan retorted, not willing to give in.

"I'm teaching you to build a foundation with your body. Whether you want to take it further is up to you. But learning martial arts with your current physique, which is as weak as cotton? Practicing martial arts is just a dream," Le Mai Linh stated bluntly.

"So, hurry up and come here, or would you prefer I come over there and drag you here myself?" she added.

Left with no other option, Jonathan complied and joined the field.

Le Mai Linh's lesson focused on teaching everyone how to move flexibly to avoid Pokemon attacks. She even shared a few of her martial arts moves with those capable enough to learn them, such as Chen Yu, Ivan, Bianca, and others.

She advised Floyd on a few moves that would suit him but warned him not to delve too deeply into her martial arts style. With Floyd's physique, her style would only hinder his progress. She believed he would do much better to continue developing his Wild Dragon Style, enhancing his speed, movement flexibility, defense, and attack capabilities.

Secretly, she envied Floyd's physique as it allowed him to use an all-round type of Martial Arts, unlike her own, which was restricted by her physique, forcing her to choose a style that suited her.

Floyd's presence and his unique approach to martial arts inspired Le Mai Linh. She saw the potential for learning martial arts from Pokemon, which could be a turning point in creating a style more suitable for her.

After two hours of training, Floyd returned to his Pokemon to check on their progress. Fraxure was still getting accustomed to its newly evolved body, and Dratini continued to use its previous fighting style, now enhanced with Dragon Breath and Dragon Dance.

Horsea was feeling slighted. Previously, her training involved fighting just one Wartortle, but now, two Squirtles were included in the mix. Worse still, they could hit her, but she couldn't retaliate, and only the hits on Wartortle counted.

Floyd told her she needed to improve her Water Gun to intermediate proficiency. He then checked on the five Goomys, Growlithe, and Munchlax. Just a few days prior, they had been too weak to battle, but now they were ready.

Floyd had been feeding them high-nutrition food, aiding their rapid recovery. Even Horsea, Growlithe, and the lead Goomy were now eating intermediate Pokeblocks. Although these two could already battle, Floyd thought it best for everyone to start battling together, all at once.

Reflecting on the past, Floyd remembered how long he had waited for Axew to build a solid foundation before starting to battle. If his memory served him right, it might have taken more than a month. Back then, he didn't even know how to make novice-grade Pokeblocks for Axew's nutrition and needed a simulator to create them. They had also faced many risks in the forest, fighting beasts just to get berries and points.

Now that everyone here is about to battle, it's certain that in a few days, Floyd's points will skyrocket. After a few moments of hard work, he returned to the field; it was now his turn to teach them. He had two hours to share his knowledge about Pokemon, and everyone, including Kanraku, Blastoise, Suzuki Akiko, had gathered around. Floyd already knew every Pokemon each person had, so he took out his record notes and distributed them individually.

He advised Blastoise that it was crucial to be aware of his surroundings every time he used Shell Smash. If he got hit during the move, the damage would be too severe. It would be better to use Hydro Pump from a distance, maintain long-range attacks, and be ready to use Protect in case of an accident. Floyd also suggested some combination moves, such as Hydro Pump and Rapid Spin. Both Kanraku and Blastoise nodded in agreement to his suggestions. Kanraku was starting to understand Blastoise's moves better and learning how to command him more effectively.

Since the incident yesterday, everyone had become more serious and started to learn about beasts, determined not to be left behind by others. They didn't want to end up like Ren Mingzhe, who lost his life because he wasn't strong enough. Hu Lai, in particular, thought that if he had more Pokemon like Floyd, he would be safer. For him, the stronger his team, the better.

A few moments later, some trainers, such as Kang Jihoon, expressed a desire to battle each other. He particularly wanted to fight Floyd. Even though he always lost, he learned a lot from each battle. Floyd was caught off guard when Kang Jihoon's Elekid used Shockwave, almost defeating his Horsea. Though any Pokemon can win against another with a type disadvantage, it doesn't change the fact that there are elemental types that have the upper hand.

Kang Jihoon had become very familiar with Floyd's Pokemon, particularly Horsea. As long as he remained cautious, there might be a chance for him to win. The exciting fight between the two inspired others to challenge Floyd as well, but they were significantly weaker compared to Kang Jihoon.

Kang Jihoon was probably the one who had improved the fastest, ranking just behind Kanraku, Floyd, and Le Mai Linh. There was even a possibility that he might surpass Le Mai Linh given enough time.

After two hours, Floyd took his Pokemon to Chansey for healing. Everyone was confused as to why he would go through the trouble of seeking Chansey's help when Healing Powder was available. Floyd simply shook his head when asked; even he didn't know why. It was just a habit he had developed from playing Pokemon games and watching the anime in the past, where he would always take his injured Pokemon to Nurse Joy.

After half an hour, he returned to the Safe Zone. There were still tasks he needed to attend to with the Wild Pokemon. However, upon his arrival, he was surprised to find Kanraku's disciples already there. He saw Ryota playing with Ekans, Squirtle, and Metapod, while Arbok kept a watchful eye on the humans. Arbok sensed the presence of many dangerous Pokemon in every direction and knew she needed to stay out of trouble.

Upon spotting Floyd and his Pokemon, she became cautious and stepped back slightly. She wasn't the only one; the other wild Pokemon also turned their attention to him, and instinctively backed away.
