Cubone roared, swinging its thick bone club with precision. Instead of throwing it, a sharp rock condensed from pure energy launched from the club and hurtled toward the hovering Magnemite.

Clang!

The impact wasn't very effective against the Steel-type Magnemite, but the special effect of Smack Down kicked in, dragging the metallic Pokémon to the ground.

Cubone wasted no time. It dashed toward the fallen Magnemite and stomped with all its might. Ground energy erupted from the point of impact, dealing massive damage to the Electric/Steel Pokémon.

A quick follow-up strike with the bone club knocked the Magnemite unconscious.

It had been two weeks since Rax Chand captured Graveler. During this time, Rax focused solely on training Cubone, battling wild Pokémon in the vast Yanshan mountain range daily.

While the area was home to Geodudes, Sandshrews, and Onix initially, the deeper regions brought tougher opponents like Magnemite, Bronzor, and Nosepass. Yet all of them had fallen to Cubone's relentless training and new techniques.

Cubone's arsenal now included Stomp and Smack Down, thanks to its training with Graveler. These moves complemented its Bone Club and Bone Boomerang, giving it a versatile and powerful fighting style.

Reflecting on Cubone's journey, Rax felt a swell of pride. Just a month ago, Cubone had struggled to run 400 meters. Now, it was a force to be reckoned with.

But Rax's success came at a cost. Every resource he had was now depleted—Pokéblocks, potions, and even his money. Selling Pokémon seemed the most immediate way to replenish his funds.

Rax glanced at the defeated Magnemite. "Looks like you're coming with me," he muttered, throwing a Poké Ball and capturing it.

Releasing Graveler as promised and giving Cubone a short rest, Rax continued deeper into the rocky terrain. Before long, a Bronzor floated into view, its reflective surface gleaming in the sunlight.

A rare Psychic/Steel Pokémon from Sinnoh! Its rarity and type made it highly valuable, and Rax wasn't about to let it slip away.

"Cubone, Bone Boomerang!"

The bone club arced through the air, smashing into Bronzor and dealing significant damage with its Ground-typing.

However, this wasn't the outskirts of the mountain, and the Bronzor wasn't as helpless as it seemed. Blue light surrounded the Pokémon as it used Telekinesis, lifting Cubone into the air.

"Cubone, don't panic! Use Smack Down!"

Rax's commanding voice steadied Cubone. It reached for its skull helmet and scratched it, creating a loud, screeching sound.

The high-pitched noise disrupted Bronzor's concentration, weakening its Telekinesis. Seizing the opportunity, Cubone condensed a sharp rock and launched it, smashing Bronzor to the ground.

A follow-up combo of Stomp and Bone Club ended the battle, and Bronzor was captured with ease.

Rax barely had time to celebrate before the ground beneath him trembled.

"Cubone!" Rax shouted.

Cubone quickly darted back, crouching low to maintain its balance. Suddenly, the earth split open, and a massive Onix erupted from the ground, its body shimmering with metallic light.

"Kahhh-FUUUU!!!"

An earth-shaking roar reverberated through the mountain range as the towering Onix loomed over them, its three-story-tall body exuding raw power.

Rax felt a bead of sweat roll down his face. This wasn't just any Onix—it had mastered Iron Head, a powerful Steel-type move.

Quietly, he slipped two Pokéblocks into Cubone's hand. They would need every advantage they could muster.

The colossal Onix, clearly furious, rushed toward them, its horn glowing with silver energy as it prepared an Iron Head attack.

"Cubone, Stomp!"

Cubone's small form remained steady as it channeled Ground energy into the earth. The rippling shockwave disrupted Onix's charge, slowing it and throwing off its balance.

Onix growled in frustration, but it pressed forward, aiming another Iron Head at Cubone.

"Bone Boomerang, aim for the horn!"

Cubone hurled its bone club with precision. The weapon struck Onix's head, though not directly at the horn. Onix flinched, shaking off the attack, but the returning bone club missed its mark.

Cubone leapt to catch its weapon mid-air, its focus unwavering. Losing the bone stick would mean losing the fight entirely.

As Onix roared and charged again, Rax smirked. The giant snake's relentless aggression was predictable.

"Cubone, Stomp again!"

Another Ground energy shockwave rippled outward, further destabilizing Onix's movements. Despite its massive size, Onix was now lumbering as if it were stuck in quicksand.

But something wasn't right. Cracks began to spread across the rocky ground.

"Wait… the terrain can't handle this!" Rax muttered, a sinking feeling in his chest.

Before he could react, the ground gave way.
