2. The One Where They Kiss. Or Whatever It Means When Lips Touch.

The thought had occurred to him many times, sure. Vince knew deep in his mind that he always had... Some amount of inexplicable deviations from heterosexual sexuality. At least this made itself very aware in his life, in the fundamentally different way he had attraction from women than "most guys". He was a bit proud of it, in a way he felt his attraction to women was wider, more encompassing of an entire person, instead of basic traits. Coming with a consuming sense of shyness and fluster. However, it only served to provide him even more anxiety, as he could never find a normal guy who could reciprocate any thoughts similar to the way he experienced attraction.

He had tried before. He knows he has no attraction to men, so why do his hallucinations tend to show specifically him and Chris as women, in a romantic sense? He knows what lesbians are, Vince has read an impressive amount of "Japanese Comics", as he liked to put it just to spite Chris, in the Yuri genre. But it was a distant thing, an incompatible interest, a far-away only aesthetic attraction to the concept of lesbians, after all, he was a man.

Maybe if he tried harder, tried to understand where these feeling came from, why his mind warped the perception of situations around his life in this way, he could someday find out why he was like this. Why he was unexplainable to himself.

His thoughts were broken by the sound of the door turning, and then opening in one fast motion. Chris had returned, two hours had passed, and Vince was still laid down in the floor looking at the ceiling, trying to understand his mind as if it was a maze without a path to the exit.

The door closed just as fast as it opened, and then it was locked. Footsteps came closer, and then stopped. He could now see Chris' face looking down at him.

"Get up." Chris ordered, and Vince obliged, getting off of the floor.

Face to face, their heights were indeed very similar, despite him knowing Chris was shorter. Vince seemed defeated, his shoulders slumped, losing a bit of height.

"Kiss me. It doesn't need to have tongue, but it needs to feel natural." Chris ordered, and Vince's face twisted into worry.

"Look, I am not gay. This isn't going to do what you think." Vince rebutted.

"Okay, I'll do it. But i need your consent first."

Vince breathed in and out, thinking of what could come. Fuck it, maybe this wouldn't be so bad after all. Come what has to come, it might teach him something about himself. "I consent. Do it."

Before Vince could even think about what he had said, his lips were touched by Chris'.

It felt.. Like nothing? It wasn't exactly moving, it felt like flesh touching flesh. Not bad, but also not something he would want to repeat again.

They broke apart after a few seconds. Chris breaking the silence. "Vince, you kiss like a girl." Chris put emphasis on the last word, jokingly.

Vince had turned beet red in an instant. his hands shivering, his eyes avoiding Chris. "D-Do that again. Not the kiss, the... The other thing."

Chris raised an eyebrow, but obliged. "You're a girl...?"

The words felt like butterflies in Vince's stomach. He already was becoming redder than he thought his face could become. Until...

"Wait, you like being called a girl, Lilly?" He looked in disbelief, it was happening again. What was that name? Why did... She.. Call him that. Oh no, it was happening again, Chris' looked like a woman, his brain was warping the situation again.

"Chris... It's happening again." She said, in shock.

"The girl thing? Now?"

"...You're a girl too." Vince said, at this point his perception was taken over by his hallucination.

"W-Wait- I.." Chris' face turned redder and redder. "I'm, not actually a girl, Lilly, i think you know- It's like, your delusion again."

"Keep calling me Lilly." Vince said, his words shaky, but almost screaming out in a necessity he never knew he had.

"I didn't call you... That. Okay, okay. Lilly." Chris' now looked away, he was the one that couldn't keep his gaze anymore.

"If you were born a girl, what name would you want?" Lilly said bluntly, no gap for interpretation.

"Abigail!" He shouted, as if his life depended on it. And then looked more shocked than he knew his face could display.

"Abigail. You're beautiful." Lilly said, her hand going up to touch Abby's face. The illusion breaking part by part, as she felt the slight bumps of stubble on Abigail's face.

As Abigail shifted her eyes from side to side... Her appearance returned to normal, to Chris. No... There was something else there. A gentleness she had never seen in him before. This was not the same person she had seen just hours ago, and yet, they looked the same in physical appearance.

"Lilly. K-K- Okay just really quick i kinda really need this right now and i do not have a logical explanation to why i want this but i need you to kiss me right this exact-" Abigail could not finish her words, as Lilly moved to embrace her, holding her entirely, and engaging in a passionate kiss, that was immediately reciprocated.

Fireworks erupted in their minds, as the passionate kiss was broken up by short moments to compliment each other. Words of "Pretty", "Beautiful", "Cute", and "My Girl", were tossed as the minute that felt like hours passed by. Everything was at peace, it was as if conflict itself had ended, everything was going to be okay, and the only thing that mattered was her, a different person to the word for each one of them, but the gender as palpable as the lifeboat to someone who was drowning.

Both out of breath, realize Chris' back had been pushed against the wall at some point. Vince was leaning over him, as they both tried to catch their breath, looking into each other's eyes longingly.

"F-Fuck!" Both said, each one running to their own direction in the room, as mice trying to escape a trap. The door, the most obvious exit, seemingly slipping both of their minds.

"This didn't happen." Vince said, in desperation.

"It didn't. Fuck!" Chris exclaimed.

"Never, we're never talking about this again." Vince replied.

"No, we're not. Please." Chris pleaded.

"Never ever."

"Never, ever, ever. Normal day, okay?"

"I was at work. You were... Somewhere else."

"Sure. Yeah!"
