Progress (II) [ORIGIN UNIVERSE]
~~One Year Later~~
The months rolled on and soon the months turned into a year since Kaguya absorbed Nature Chakra from all over the world to fill up her Eight Trigrams Seal… For Kaguya, it has been a long year, but she was quite happy with all the progress she had made in every regard.
For the past year, she had been diligently training her Sage Mode and it was finally starting to bear fruits. Seven new horns were growing out of the front of her head and the original horns had grown bigger, but instead of going up, they started going around her head and now they hung like a bone halo on top of her head. Kaguya did not hate her old horns, but she liked her new horns even more… Not that she was planning to tell anyone.
After all, Zetsu was the only one she could talk to except for her clones and she did not want to talk about something like that to her own clones. That would be just so silly… If it was someone else in her place, they would have started to feel restless, but she had spent a thousand years trapped inside a seal, so she could handle the loneliness.
Maybe, the Six Paths Sage Mode was to blame for the new changes surrounding her horns…
The Six Path Sage mode was the strongest Sage Mode she knew about and she had just recently scratched the surface of the Six Path Sage Mode. The Six Path Sage Mode was achieved by her son after he completely mastered the Six Paths of Rinnegan and it was the same for her… Only after she mastered the Six Paths of her Rinne Sharingan, she was able to convert the Nature Chakra into the Six Path Chakra.
Nature Chakra was neutral, but volatile at the same time. However, the Six Path Chakra was not only neutral, it was extremely potent and calm. Kaguya did not need to work actively to keep the Six Path Chakra under her control and she could use stronger Justus while using a lesser amount of Chakra. That wasn’t all, since the Six Path Chakra came from her mastery over the Six Paths of the Rinnegan, she could convert her own Chakra into Six Path Chakra.
That wasn’t all, she had started to enjoy the feeling of growing stronger in general… After all, Senjutsu wasn’t the only thing she had trained in the past year. The feeling was addictive and Kaguya could tell that she was already addicted to the feeling. For the first time in her life, she was enjoying herself even though the threat of her clan was looming on top of her head.
In the past year, she had mastered everything she could have mastered. Now she just needed some real-life experience in various scenarios to further refine all of her skills and maybe some new powers to her arsenal…
“How long is this going to take?” Kaguya asked and one of her Clones came floating to her.
“We just need to add a few minor touch-ups and inspect the whole series. We should be done in about half an hour” The Clone reported receiving a nod from Kaguya. After the Clone gave the report, she flew off to resume her task. Kaguya stared at her Clones working on the seal she had created after a couple of months of hard work. After the seal was placed around Earth, Kaguya would be free to leave this planet, so that she could gather more power.
Kaguya already had some plans in her mind and if everything went smoothly then she was going to come out as a lot more powerful being than before…
“Where have you been, my son?” Kaguya asked when she noticed the arrival of Zetsu. He had been trying to catch her by surprise, but after mastering the Sage Mode, it had become impossible for even Zetsu to sneak up on her…
“I have been watching Konoha. I wanted to see how they are doing” Zetsu answered in a raspy tone and Kaguya simply hummed.
“What did you see?” Kaguya asked, feeling interested. She had no idea what they were up to after she reclaimed her Chakra from the humans. She decided to completely ignore them since they were not a threat to her.
“Sakuse Uchiha is nothing but a broken man. He is simply following through the motions and Naruto Uzumaki is miserable, but he is showing a strong front” Zetsu giggled creepily and a small smile bloomed on Kaguya’s face. Kaguya would have liked to believe that she was not a petty woman, but she knew herself. Even though she decided to spare them, it did not feel she did not feel any anger toward them.
If it wasn’t for the memories she acquired from Janet, then she would have been sealed by them again…
“Is that so?” Kaguya asked with a hint of amusement in her tone. Maybe, in some other world, she could have built a meaningful relationship with her descendants, but not here. “What about the other villages?” Kaguya asked with a hint of curiosity in her voice.
“Sunakagure, Kumogakure, and Kirigakure are not going to last for long. They lack any ability to sustain themselves” Zetsu answered in a gleeful tone. He still couldn’t understand why his mother decided to spare the humans, but he wasn’t going to question her. Maybe she simply wanted to see them slowly waste away in misery. If that was the case then his mother was a lot more vindicative and cruel than he thought.
Not that he was complaining. In fact, he would be glad if that was the case. After all, his mother was above caring about any of the insects under her feet…
Kaguya simply hummed and looked away from Zetsu… To be honest, she did not care much about the Great Villages in general. They were completely powerless, after all, but the same could not be said for their techniques. That is why Kaguya sent Zetsu on a long-term mission to steal all of their knowledge. She even told him to take his time as she was in no hurry.
Kaguya already had her hands full with all the skills she needed to master from the memories she stole from various Shinobis. She did not want to put anything more on her plate for the time being. However, now that Kaguya had mastered all the skills from the memories, she was free to add more techniques to her arsenal. She was going to have an abundance of time in the worlds she was planning to travel.
So, instead of wasting her time while sitting around and waiting for something to happen, she could simply train herself…
“Have you finished your task?” Kaguya asked, making Zetsu frantically nod his head in affirmation.
“Of course, mother. I have already handed off the scrolls to your Clones for safe-keeping” Zetsu quickly explained, feeling proud of himself. Kaguya cracked a smile and started to pat his head.
“You have done good, my son. I am so proud of you” Kaguya said as she continued to pat him and Zetsu beamed at the praise. “Tell me, son, is there something you want? A reward perhaps?” Kaguya asked as she looked at her son.
Zetsu did not know what to say for the first few seconds. “The only thing I want is to forever accompany you, Mother” Zetsu declared proudly, making Kaguya chuckle and Zetsu thought he was lucky to be able to see this side of his mother.
“I do not think that would be an appropriate reward as I do not plan to abandon you ever, my son. Maybe, we should hold it for the time being and you can ask for something when you find something you really wish to have, hm?” Kaguya offered and Zetsu wanted to assure her that he did not want anything else, but did not wish to speak against his mother.
If his mother wanted to hold on to his reward then who was he to complain, but if he never asked for anything, it didn’t matter at the end of the day…
“Alright” Zetsu agreed externally when he realized that his mother was still waiting for a reply from him. “By the way, Mother, where are we even going?” Zetsu asked curiously. He knew that his mother was planning to leave the world, but he did not know anything beyond that. However, if he wanted to keep his mother safe then he needed to have as much information as he could gather.
“There is a power I want to have, but for that, I need to have an extensive knowledge of Souls” Kaguya explained with a thoughtful look on her face. Zetsu was obviously not satisfied with the answer, but he decided not to push it…
After a few minutes, one of her Clones came floating to them. “We are done” The Clone announced and Kaguya nodded her head in understanding.
“Dismiss yourselves!” Kaguya ordered and all the clones started to dismiss themselves one by one. She quickly scanned through the memories of her clone and nodded her head in satisfaction. The seal was placed perfectly. Now she simply needed to activate the seal. Kaguya clapped her hands and released a huge amount of Chakra. “Six Path Sage Art: Planetary Seal!” Kaguya exclaimed and seals placed around all over the world started to glow.
Moments later, the Seals stopped glowing, leaving the ground charred but a translucent barrier shimmered around the world for a moment before turning invisible… Kaguya was sure that some humans must have noticed the barrier around the world, but she was not worried since there was nothing they could to do destroy the barrier.
Humans had a bad habit of poking whatever they couldn’t understand and she was certain that the humans were going to come poking where her clones had originally inscribed the seals. However, Kaguya had hidden the main anchor in the centre of the moon. Even if the humans managed to somehow reach the moon as they had done in Janet’s world, they were not going to be able to find the anchor and as long as the anchor was intact, the barrier was going to stay up.
Kaguya couldn’t help but smile in satisfaction… It took her a hefty amount of Six Paths Chakra to cast the barrier, but it was worth all the effort and hard work…
“It is time to go, my son” Kaguya announced. Zetsu immediately left the white Zetsu and crawled into the left sleeve of her haori. Kaguya had decided to wear a haori adorned with tomoe over her modified anbu uniform. In the past year, she had ended up modifying her clothes several times as she managed to quickly get over her embarrassment.
Now, the clothes she was wearing were almost clinging to her skin, giving her a lot more freedom to move around…
Without wasting any more time, Kaguya stored the white Zetsu body inside her Kamui dimension just like all the remaining white Zetsu bodies. After that, Kaguya concentrated on the world she was planning to travel and opened a Portal. She stepped through the Portal and found herself standing in the middle of a wasteland…
‘A wasteland was not something I was expecting’ Kaguya mused internally as she tried to sense some life, but much to her disappointment, there were no signs of life on this planet, which meant she had failed to travel to another world. However, Kaguya wasn’t willing to give up so she decided to try again, but once again, she found herself standing on a planet with no life.
The third time, Kaguya decided to try a different world, maybe, the third time was going to be the charm, but much to her embarrassment, she once again ended up on a completely barren planet… Zetsu didn’t dare to say anything else about his mother’s repeated failures as he did not dare to think that his mother could be wrong. Zetsu was certain that his mother was going to succeed, she simply needed to get a hang of world travelling.
After trying to open a Portal to the world she desired for the tenth time and failing, Kaguya deduced that she could not travel to other worlds, at least not like this, but there was still something she wanted to try…
Kaguya opened another Portal and stepped through… A manic grin appeared on her face as she found herself floating over a bustling city of glass and steel. She had done it! She had managed to travel to the world from where Janet had come from…
