Chapter 102
Chapter
Swaek – swaek –
As I woke up, the first sound that reached my ears was my own breathing.
Enok opened his eyes. He could see Rionne, fast asleep.
He gazed blankly at her angelic face and planted a kiss on her lips.
“Umm…”
Rionne mumbled in her sleep and broke into a shy smile.
She didn’t seem anywhere close to waking up, but her reactions were quite amusing.
With his face buried in her chest, he simply breathed for a while until he regained his senses.
“Hmmm…”
As much as he wanted to stay like this forever, it wouldn’t do. Mustering his willpower, he scattered his body using Ki.
Crackle –
In an instant, he stepped outside and took a deep breath.
The fresh air of the Elf Union filled his lungs.
It was delightful. Even though he maintained a physical form, it was ultimately nothing more than a meaningless body.
According to Rionne, after the fight with the Sword God, it took her less than half a day to reconstitute her body.
That was unusually fast. Rionne took several months.
Enok lightly thumped his chest. The Undine lying dormant within him still showed no reaction.
“What are you doing sleeping so soundly?”
He could sense that Eri was storing her energy to leap over the wall, but even with the unimaginable power already gathered through their connection, she still seemed to be in preparation mode.
He wondered how many walls she was trying to leap over at once.
“Is this the first time we’re actually facing each other?”
He turned his head at the sudden voice.
Despite not trying to conceal his presence, it was faint.
When he turned his head, the first thought that crossed his mind was that there was a sword there.
It turned out the Sword God was staring at him intently.
“Father.”
“Father, huh…”
Kyle smiled slightly.
“That’s nice to hear. Yet, it still feels a bit strange.”
The memories of when his emotions had completely faded were hazy now.
They lingered like the distant recollection of reading a book in a single sitting.
Several hundred years ago, his daughter’s foolishness felt like just yesterday.
“I thought that child would live alone for the rest of her days.”
“Rionne?”
“Yeah. So, I can’t believe this situation now. To think there would be a time when she would lock herself away with a partner for an entire week without showing her face. It feels really odd.”
“Beloved.”
Suddenly approaching, Roxanna shot a glare at Kyle.
“What do you mean by that to your son-in-law?”
“What does it matter? We’re family now.”
“Even so, it feels inappropriate.”
As if sensing their presence, the Undine flew in, landing atop Enok’s head, laughing wildly.
[What are you two complaining about when you’ve spent days cooped up as well?]
“…Undine?”
[…Oh, I got it! Don’t be mad!]
Enok suddenly thought.
Could it be that all Elves have an overflow of libido? The fact that their population was this small seemed surprising.
Take Rionne as an example.
Even while collapsing from excessive pleasure, didn’t she leap right back into action the moment she opened her eyes?
Honestly, it had been a bit frightening at the time.
“Son-in-law, you’ve been keeping an eye on things, but it seems time is running short.”
“Excuse me?”
“The end of the Demon Realm.”
Following Kyle’s gaze up to the sky, Enok saw deeper shades of purple than before.
‘Honestly, I had forgotten about that.’
Being pressed by Rionne left no room for other thoughts. How could there be any when she was right before him?
As he stared at the scars in the sky, a clear ring appeared in Enok’s eyes.
Kiiing-!
At last, his demigod nature and Ki Eye’s pattern aligned perfectly.
Without strain, he could see many more things vividly than before.
Countless lines comprising the world. Enok nodded as he quickly scanned through both the lowest and highest realms.
“It’s quite precarious. It seems ready to burst at any moment.”
“Indeed. Your sight is impressive.”
“Is that so? I thought you could also use Ki Eye to some extent, Father.”
“You’re no different from others.”
Kyle gently tapped his eyes.
“Compared to other demigods, your sight is exceptional. Do you recall what happened in the dungeon?”
“Yes.”
It was rather surprising that Kyle remembered that incident.
The Sword God in the dungeon was nothing but a mere illusion created by the dungeon itself, wasn’t he?
The Sword God smiled faintly at Enok’s words.
“You’ll understand soon enough. Stepping into the realm of the gods means becoming a concept in itself. Eventually, wherever you are in the continent, just by calling your name, a certain sense will surface.”
“O…”
That sounded like quite a hassle. Enok grimaced.
Kyle continued with his story.
“Anyway, back to the dungeon. Didn’t you have difficulties seeing my sword? Most Masters wouldn’t find that to be an issue. It’s merely because your vision is too sharp that such things happened.”
“Oh, I heard about that from Rionne and Undine.”
[Of course! We explained everything.]
“Is that so? Then there’s no need for further explanations. After all, you are the one who knows best now.”
The Sword God looked up at the sky with arms crossed. His serene eyes wandered into the distant realm before returning to Enok.
“So I need your help.”
“Help?”
His Father?
Even though he had reached the level of a demigod, he honestly felt there was still a significant gap between him and Kyle.
In pure combat power, even with two of himself, would he be able to win?
And yet, he was asked for his help?
Enok gazed at him with a puzzled expression, and the Sword God fiddled with the hilt of his sword.
“It’s a given that it’s better to have no friction with the Demon Realm at all.”
“True?”
“Exactly. War is tiresome.”
The Sword God leaped off the ground and soared into the sky.
“Will you follow me for a moment? Just the two of us should suffice.”
*
Following the Sword God, they arrived at the scar in the sky.
The massive gash was so deep that the other side could not be seen.
When Enok looked at the Sword God with curiosity, he pointed at the scar.
“A deep wound will inevitably fester. This is no different. If this scar festers to connect with the other side, it will become a passageway to the Demon Realm.”
“Yes.”
“Do you know the best way to heal a wound?”
Enok pondered deeply.
“Well… Divine power?”
“That’s correct. But you know, wounds inflicted by high-level martial artists are not easily healed even with divine power.”
The Sword God drew his sword. He swung it, mimicking a slicing motion.
Just that gesture alone was frightening enough to make the hairs on Enok stand on end.
“In such cases, one might as well cut away the source of the infection. Oftentimes, it’s much easier to treat the wound from the beginning.”
“Are you saying… you want to cut that?”
“Precisely.”
The Sword God nodded.
But Enok’s questions only deepened. If that was the case, why couldn’t he just cut it himself? Why did he need his power?
“But I’m unable to do it alone. I have the sword to cut, but I don’t know where to strike.”
“Ah… then.”
“Exactly. You’ll need to mark the spot for me. Then I can slice it away.”
He understood.
Enok extended his Ki and focused intently on the scar in the sky.
The countless tangled lines within the scar were undoubtedly too complex for even Enok to decipher.
Kiiing-!
How much time had passed?
Just as electric Ki began to trickle from Enok’s eyes, they lit up.
“I found it.”
If one looked at it unknowingly, it would seem like the other lines, but the moment it was recognized, a feeling of incongruity arose.
A single line leading to another realm.
As that bizarre sensation stimulated his head, it began to throb.
“Then….”
Crackle -!
Enok’s body dispersed into Ki.
Simultaneously, the Ki spreading across the sky absorbed the vast scar into his sight.
[Starting now.]
The Sword God nodded, and Enok lifted his soul.
An exhilarating sensation, akin to drunkenness, filled his head.
Suddenly, five massive colorful rings appeared high above.
The rings spun around the scar.
Unconsciously gasping, Enok summoned every ounce of Ki from the continent.
Pik-, all electric facilities shut down. The stormy sky cleared up, and the mages casting electrical spells lost control of their Ki.
All that Ki converged into the center of the ring at once.
[Explode.]
The single word that triggered it. The divine word twisted the principles of the world and summoned a miracle.
────────────!!!!
The burst of electric Ki became a colossal pillar.
It was so massive that it could be seen even from the edge of the continent. Humans witnessing the miracle bowed their heads in awe.
The reverence offered to Enok became power unto itself. Feeling the surging energy, Enok released it all.
‘Not needed.’
I am complete by myself. The feelings directed toward me from Rionne and those around her are sufficient.
Before long, returning to his human form, Enok clapped his hands together.
Craaack -!
The joining. As the gigantic pillar of electric Ki thinned, it traced a single line.
“…Above expectations.”
He anticipated merely marking the spot, but had cleared everything around it completely.
The Sword God raised the tightly gripped sword.
With a target in front of him, if he couldn’t even slice that, he wouldn’t truly be the Sword God.
───────────────
Following the line, the trajectory of the sword was drawn.
All within that trajectory transformed into pure nothingness.
As he looked at the collapsing sky, Enok returned to the side of the Sword God.
[Done.]
The connection with the Demon Realm’s scar was disappearing.
*
In a magic region on the edge of the continent.
An orc emerged in a place devoid of human presence. The newly reborn demigod Kakuhu.
He closed his eyes as he gazed upon the vanishing scar in the sky.
The Middle Realm and the Demon Realm.
He belonged to neither, yet he had always hoped.
If those like him continued to increase, perhaps he wouldn’t have to stand out as a one-eyed cyclops anymore?
In the village of one-eyed cyclopes, those with two eyes were considered disabled.
Once that time came, he wouldn’t be lonely any longer.
[Uniting the Demon Realm and the Middle Realm.]
With fervent hope, he swung his axe down.
Crack -!
A piece of the scar that fell from the sky had landed here.
With this, very powerful demons might be unable to enter the Middle Realm, but lesser demons would freely come and go.
‘I’ll establish a farm here.’
First, he would gather humans and monsters with high reproductive abilities. Then, if they were to breed with demons, perhaps he would see more brethren like himself.
A village of half-demons.
Moreover, a nation of half-demons.
Yes, he vowed to establish the Half-Demon Empire here.
