Chapter 103
Chapter
As the Sword God returned home, Rionne, who had already woken up, greeted Enok.
“You’re back?”
“Yeah.”
“I saw you here too. You’ve grown so much…”
Rionne smiled oddly while petting Enok’s head.
As I quietly enjoyed her touch, she leaned in and brought her lips to his ear.
“I guess I can really call you ‘Beloved’ now?”
“Beloved?”
“Or do you prefer something else?”
With a peck on his ear, Rionne smiled bashfully.
Roxanna covered her mouth and playfully tapped Kyle’s arm.
“Oh my. Did you see that, Beloved?”
“Mm. I never thought our daughter would have a day like that.”
“The way she casually says such embarrassing things, she’s just like you, Beloved.”
“…What are you saying in front of my son-in-law?”
Kyle cleared his throat. Enok, nestled in Rionne’s arms, looked up curiously.
“Why are you suddenly acting strange, Enok?”
“I felt like… my name was being called.”
“Your name?”
Rionne blinked in surprise. Before she could say more, Kyle chimed in.
“It’s probably not a misunderstanding. Didn’t I say earlier that you’d know just by hearing your name?”
“Is this that?”
“I guess so.”
Hmm. Enok, tilting his head in thought, signaled for permission.
“I’ll be right back.”
“How long do you think it will take?”
“Well… 3 minutes? 5 minutes?”
At this point, walking there was faster than crossing space.
Not to brag, but he was definitely faster than Rionne. As for the Sword God… well, maybe he could even outpace him?
With a crack—
Enok dashed forward like lightning.
In the blink of an eye, familiar sights came into view.
“Whoa. Long time no see.”
“Enok? What’s up? How did you know I was here?”
“I thought I heard them talking about me.”
Zikfrein’s expression twisted in a bizarre way at Enok’s words.
“What was that? That’s scary.”
“So don’t gossip behind my back.”
“I wasn’t gossiping in the first place.”
Zikfrein chuckled lightly.
As they shared a smile, Enok scanned the surroundings.
“Were you on your way to the Elf Union?”
“Yeah, that’s right. I did say I’d stop by. Dad took his sweet time gathering things.”
Zikfrein pointed at the carriages. There were certainly more than enough for the number of people.
Just then, the Marquis, who was getting down from one of the carriages, spotted Enok and lit up with a smile.
“Oh, what a pleasant coincidence.”
“Hello.”
“Welcome. These… no, it seems better to give them later. By the way, what brings you here? I was just on my way to the Union.”
After Enok explained, the Marquis’ expression became quite lively.
“When I saw purple lightning in the sky, I had a feeling… could it be…?”
“Demigod?”
The Marquis nodded at Enok’s mention. Enok returned the nod.
“That’s how it turned out.”
“Hmm… I doubt it’s something that can be easily brushed off. But if that’s the case, then so be it.”
For now, that wasn’t the point.
Almost three minutes had already passed since he promised Rionne.
“Is there going to be a problem if we arrive at the Elf Union quickly?”
“Not really…?”
“Then close your eyes tightly.”
“Why all of a sudden, huh… ugh!”
Feeling an unmistakable chill, the Marquis tightly shut his eyes. Enok confirmed Zikfrein and the others had done the same before snapping his fingers.
Snap-!
A long corridor connecting the two spaces instantly crackled with electricity.
The lightning obeyed Enok’s will, and with a light tap of his feet, the surrounding scenery changed in an instant.
“Hah….”
“…I can’t believe it.”
While the Marquis and Zikfrein blankly looked around, the Estor family, waiting for Enok, greeted them.
“You must be a guest from hundreds of years ago.”
The Marquis’ eyes widened at the sight of the Sword God. Though he had never seen him in person, it was strange not to recognize the face of a Sword God illustrated in history books if one had received any education at all.
Besides, the Sword God was the father of Enok’s master, the Swordmaster.
If he couldn’t make that simple deduction, he might as well have wasted his life.
“K-Kyle Estor…”
“Thank you for recognizing me. And what’s your name?”
“I’m Nibeiron Le Demisto!”
“Demisto? That name sounds familiar.”
“Ah, yes! He must be my ancestor!”
As the Marquis stood stiffly, Zikfrein looked on with curiosity.
“It seems the Sword God really is an impressive figure.”
“You already knew that, right?”
“I know, but… I spent my childhood just lying in bed, so I hardly studied history. It’s all a bit hazy.”
“Is that so?”
Nodding vaguely, Enok suddenly glanced around.
‘Three Demigods. Two Grandmasters.’
Excluding the Marquis in the number. If Tsukiyo was added, there’d be three Grandmasters.
With this level of power, could they conquer the world?
When he asked the Sword God, he shook his head.
“I’m not sure, but it probably would be tough. It might be different if you and Rionne matured a bit more.”
“Oh….”
“Why do you ask about that? Are you suddenly wanting to conquer the world?”
Hearing the Sword God mention world conquest caused the Marquis to freeze, rolling his eyes.
If a regular person said it, it would be just laughable banter, but when it comes from someone like the Sword God, it struck differently.
“No, not at all. I was just curious all of a sudden.”
“Well, if you ever decide you want to conquer the world, let me know. It’s my son-in-law’s job, after all, I should help.”
Haha, the Sword God chuckled lightly.
Enok nodded in agreement.
“Sure. I’ll think about it seriously by then.”
*
After a little while, the Marquis seemed to relax, beginning to communicate smoothly with others.
Stepping back slightly, Enok widened his Ki Sense to search for the invisible Tsukiyo.
Crack—
A faint electromagnetic field spread out, surrounding the area.
He hoped she hadn’t returned to the Beastman Tribe, but thankfully Tsukiyo was still in the Elf Union.
Confirming that the Estor family and the Marquis were chatting happily, Enok casually walked away.
“This place is….”
A fair distance from the Estor family, close to where Rionne’s Villa was located.
Of course, that didn’t mean Tsukiyo was sneaking into Rionne’s house.
“Choco?”
Knocking on the front door, he heard some movement inside.
“Just a moment~!”
A lively voice announced the arrival of an elf. Wasn’t it the elf who had taken care of Tsukiyo? He thought her name was Deru.
“Oh, it’s you again! Are you looking for Tsukiyo?”
“Yeah. Is Choco here?”
“Yes! How did you know to come here?”
Since she wasn’t even hiding her presence, it was almost like she was asking to be found.
For Tsukiyo’s dignity, Enok redirected the conversation.
“Can I come in for a moment?”
“Of course! It’s a bit messy since I live alone, but… is that okay?”
“Yeah.”
Following Deru inside, just as she said, the house was indeed quite messy.
It wasn’t unmanageable, but more disorganized than dirty.
“Choco.”
At Enok’s call, a black cat’s tail popped up from the sofa.
“What are you doing here?”
“…….”
“Are you sulking?”
“…I’m not sulking.”
Tsukiyo peeked out from the sofa, her hair a mess and crumbs like snack powder on her mouth.
Had she been living like a shut-in at someone else’s house?
“That’s inconsiderate, Choco.”
“…Deru said it was fine.”
“When did I say that!? I never said it was fine!”
“Be, be quiet!”
With an indignant huff, Tsukiyo threw a blanket over her head. She was acting like a child throwing a tantrum. She’s almost 800 years old.
“Let’s go home. Everyone’s gathered.”
“Even if I go, I’m just going to lock myself in my room again. No way.”
“Uh….”
Is this the struggle of couples with a child?
Scratching his chin, Enok’s eyes lit up.
“Oh, if that’s the case, how about I tell Rionne and we head to the Beastman Tribe for a week? Just for a change of pace.”
“…Do you think that elf would allow it?”
“I think she would. Oh, Rionne could accompany us too.”
Tsukiyo’s ears perked up and wiggled. That’s a sign of being pleased.
Watching Tsukiyo quietly, she snorted and nodded.
“Hmm. Well, I’m not someone who wants to put distance between my pair. If that elf comes along, it shouldn’t be a problem.”
“Rionne mentioned she has a friend in the Beastman Tribe, so it would be nice to see her too.”
“Oh, you mean Jayura? Since he’s a friend of mine as well, let’s go ahead.”
Like a cat ready to pounce, Tsukiyo’s rear wiggled before she quickly dashed off to clean up.
Seeing her go, Deru smiled, stretching her arms.
“Finally, free time.”
“Were you feeling uncomfortable?”
“No? Not really. But it is different having someone around compared to being alone at home.”
“Is that so?”
Anyway, it was a relief to hear that she didn’t mind.
*
Naturally, they weren’t leaving for the Beastman Tribe right away.
Since the Marquis and his party were guests, they would leave only after they had departed.
However, when Enok brought it up to Rionne, she happily nodded.
“The Beastman Tribe? Perfect timing! I have a friend there that I haven’t seen in a while.”
“Yeah, I remember.”
“Oh right! We talked about meeting Riraum, didn’t we?”
Hearing the name, Enok glanced at his clothes.
It was made by Riraum—maybe he should visit to say hello after all.
“So when are we heading out?”
“Not sure? Let’s decide once the guests leave.”
