Reborn as the God-Emperor in Marvel

Chapter 79: Chapter 79: The Final Battle Between Demon and Deity (Part 1)

Bayonetta had fainted due to the chaotic memories of five hundred years flooding her mind, but it all seemed to be part of Baldur's plan. He gently held the unconscious witch, who was still unconsciously releasing the power of the "Left Eye." Since the outermost concrete layers of the skyscraper had shattered and fallen away, the central structure of the building was now revealed—an unmistakable rocket made entirely of metal. Its rivets were clearly visible, perhaps due to its age.

Through magic, this rocket, built by the Izavel Corporation, possessed technology far surpassing that of any other nation. Both its size and carrying capacity dwarfed any other rocket. The height of the rocket matched that of the entire Isabel Tower. At the top of the rocket sat an enormous, bizarre stone sculpture, completely defying aerodynamics. At its center was a statue of Jubileus the Creator, surrounded by countless beautiful angels gazing down upon the world from the clouds.

"Let's begin, Cereza," Baldur said, holding Bayonetta as he ascended to the top of the Isabel Tower, where the massive stone statue awaited.

"The resurrection ritual of Jubileus the Creator is almost complete." Baldur, now hovering at the highest point, turned his back to the statue. In his madness, he continued to indoctrinate the unconscious Bayonetta with his beliefs. "Cereza, we are the Eyes that observe the world, the Eyes that will witness a new reality… a new truth… We will dedicate ourselves to this forever."

Baldur and Bayonetta both radiated an intense light as the sage floated with the witch into the forehead of the Jubileus statue. Then, the statue's eyes opened—the right one glowed blue and the left one red. Baldur and Bayonetta now occupied the statue's respective eyes, activating the slumbering Jubileus with the power of the Eyes of the World.

"May Jubileus the Creator bless all creations!" the statue spoke, but the voice was Baldur's. He now controlled the statue, realizing his long-cherished dream: to become the Creator of the new world, together with his daughter. This dream, spanning five centuries, was now on the verge of being fulfilled.

Air raid sirens echoed across the island. Countless people looked up, their gaze drawn to the towering building at the center of Sun Island. Reactions varied: many followers of the Lagrna faith saw this as the precursor to Jubileus' resurrection, praying joyously in the hope that the Creator would bless them upon revival. Others, like Luka at the island's edge with Phoenix, or Solomon in the mirror dimension, were filled with dread.

"You've done more than enough," the Sorcerer Supreme said to the worried Solomon. "You've helped Cereza become stronger, awakening the power of the 'Left Eye.'"

"But what good does that do?" Solomon asked. "Baldur seems to have accounted for the awakening of the 'Left Eye.'"

"What Baldur doesn't know is that I have foreseen many possibilities. He believes that Jubileus' power will surpass that of the Eye of Agamotto," the Sorcerer Supreme explained. "But the Eyes of the World cannot observe the multiple possibilities like the Eye of Agamotto. There are countless possibilities, including one where Jubileus can be killed."

Solomon was confused. "Does that include the current situation?"

"This is one of the possibilities," the Sorcerer Supreme said, pointing to Jeanne, who was slowly waking up outside the mirror dimension. "Now, it's up to her."

Bright flames and thick smoke erupted from the base of the skyscraper, surging through the streets like a tidal wave until it reached the sea. The immense noise and heat swept across the island, shaking buildings and causing those adjacent to the Isabel Tower to collapse. As the rocket slowly lifted off, it was surrounded by a host of angels, their wings beating in unison as they ascended into the sky.

Solomon watched in shock as the rocket extended mid-flight, revealing a metallic disc at its rear, adorned with sun-like radial patterns.

The deafening noise jolted Jeanne fully awake. She had no memory of entering the mirror dimension, as the Sorcerer Supreme had frozen her memories at the moment of injury. Jeanne didn't have time to question why her wounds were healed, for she could immediately sense the power emanating from the statue atop the rocket—power she was all too familiar with, the power of the "Left Eye" and "Right Eye." Realizing the gravity of the situation, Jeanne knew there was no time to waste—the Left Eye of the Umbra Witches must never fall into anyone else's hands. This was the core of Jeanne's pride and duty as the leader of the witches.

Without hesitation, Jeanne leaped from the high building and landed smoothly. She immediately grabbed a nearby motorcycle, revved the engine, and sped up the side of an undamaged skyscraper. The bike launched her into the air, where she used the floating angels as makeshift platforms, ruthlessly driving over them. With impeccable control and the power of the motorcycle's engine, Jeanne soared through the air and finally landed on the rocket's outer shell. The angels surrounding her swarmed in, but they couldn't attack her with full force, fearing they might damage the delicate technology and ruin Jubileus' resurrection.

The Sorcerer Supreme gestured with her hand, and a portal suddenly opened in front of the rocket, leading to the vastness of space. The rapidly ascending rocket had no way to alter its course and was forced to pass through the portal. The Supreme continued casting spells, and for the first time, Solomon witnessed the full extent of her power.

The Sorcerer Supreme spread her arms wide, orange-red flames dancing between her palms. Countless skyscrapers beneath her folded and extended, lifting the platform she and Solomon stood on higher and higher. As they ascended, the horizon began to curve, and the once-massive buildings below shrank into insignificance. The sun, now setting in the west, seemed to rise again, and Solomon saw the line between light and darkness stretch toward the north and south, the distant earth enveloped in a soft blue glow. When the platform finally stopped, Solomon realized they were no longer beneath thin clouds but surrounded by the depths of space.

Then, the Sorcerer Supreme raised her hands, and the boundary of the mirror dimension expanded outward from her like shattered glass. Solomon looked down from their high vantage point, watching as the mirror dimension spread across the Earth, extending from Sun Island to the surrounding seas. The expansion seemed endless, surpassing the distant horizon and eventually enveloping the entire planet. Simultaneously, the defense systems of the three Sanctums activated, invisible sparks flickering across the Earth's surface. Centered on New York, London, and Hong Kong, the system formed three massive rotating shields.

Now, the Earth had lost all satellite signals, as the mirror dimension cut off any connection. The enormous rocket, now detached from all technological means, soared through space. Beneath the statue, stone pillars resembling roots were drawn by gravity, falling toward the Earth like meteors. The angels, now consumed by their fanatical devotion, transformed into golden sparks and hurled themselves into the body of Jubileus, including many incredibly powerful seraphim. They were willing to become the fuel to ignite the old world for the sake of their deity's rebirth.

Solomon was dumbfounded by the sight before him. Jubileus, once a lifeless stone statue, now curled up like a fetus in the womb, was shedding its dead weight as the power of the Eyes of the World and the sacrifice of the angels transformed it into flesh.

With Jubileus' revival, an immense power surged forth, charged particles tearing through the atmosphere and clashing with the Earth's magnetic field, creating golden auroras visible across half the planet. If not for the mirror dimension and the planetary defense system of Kamar-Taj, the sheer force of this power would have triggered earthquakes and tsunamis across half the globe. The power was unimaginable, and it was no wonder Baldur paid no heed to the presence of the Sorcerer Supreme, as such strength seemed impossible for any single person to stop.

Jubileus awoke from her curled position, stretching out her body. She had an immaculate figure, her skin as flawless as marble, adorned with intricate red markings on her body and limbs. Gold rings encircled her wrists and ankles, and her golden hair, divided into six strands, was embedded with various jewels. The tips of her hair were set with enormous diamond-shaped rubies. Golden runes, like wings, spread out behind her, emitting a radiance rivaling the sun.

The Sorcerer Supreme signaled Solomon to stay calm and observe the battle's progression. Jeanne, using the powerful physique of the Umbra Witches to withstand the cold and low oxygen of the high altitude, parked her motorcycle on a floating stone slab. In front of her, three dark purple magic circles appeared, and a bullet shot through them, hitting Jubileus directly in the left eye. Bayonetta, who had lost control of her power due to unconsciousness, fell out of the eye.

"Jeanne?"

"Wake up, Cereza," Jeanne's voice, amplified by magic, reached Bayonetta's ears. "Put an end to this five-hundred-year grudge! Stop wasting time. The battle has already begun!"
