Chapter 80: Chapter 80: The Final Battle Between Demons and Gods (Part 2)
A violent explosion erupted from Jubileus' left eye, causing the god to let out a pained howl. Jubileus reached out with the left hand to cover the wounded eye, but Bayonetta, now fully awake, leaped from it first. She quickly wove her magic into a black, skin-tight leather outfit and landed beside Jeanne. Due to the imbalance in power, Jubileus' left eye exploded again, sending a massive amount of blood across half of its body.
"Fools!" Bader's voice echoed from Jubileus' mouth, "Look at what you have done!"
A massive blue sword materialized in Jubileus' left hand. Bader controlled the deity, swinging the terrifying weapon at Bayonetta and Jeanne. As the sword cleaved through the floating debris, the two women leapt into the air. The near-zero gravity caused them to drift toward space.
Bayonetta attempted an attack, summoning Gomorrah once again, but the creature's head was swiftly severed by Jubileus' sword. She sighed in frustration. "Looks like normal pets won't do the trick."
"My beloved daughter, Cereza!" Bader cried out, flailing his limbs wildly. "How dare you raise your sword against your father! I will never forgive you for this!"
"Haven't I already done this before?" Bayonetta chuckled. "And I'll keep doing it."
"This is the power of a god?" Jeanne asked. "Cereza, you must fulfill your destiny!"
"Of course, but only if we do it together," Bayonetta replied. "With our secret weapon."
"That's what I was thinking," Jeanne responded with a smile.
"TELOC VOVIM A GRAA ORS TABA ORD AVAVAGO"
"EMNA OL ADRPAN ADNA ZNRZA OXEX RACLIR"
As Bayonetta chanted the incantation, she performed a series of highly complex moves. Behind her, an infinite length of black hair extended from a dark purple magic circle, far more than what she had used when summoning Gomorrah. Jeanne's white hair intertwined with Bayonetta's black hair, forming a powerful union that passed through another magic circle. The black and white strands merged and transformed into a towering female demon, far larger than Jubileus.
This demon had a massive black hair bun adorned with three rows of white skulls, and at the center of her forehead was a large oval-shaped ruby, which matched her piercing red eyes. She was the Queen of Sheba, a demon summoned by the combined powers of Bayonetta and Jeanne—or rather, she was classified as a demon because she resided in the Abyss. Upon her summoning, she cast a glance in Solomon's direction, as though her gaze could pierce through the mirror dimension.
She's looking at me! Solomon thought, sure that the demon was aware of his presence.
Suddenly, he felt an even stronger dislike for coffee.
The demon quickly shifted her attention back to Jubileus. She kissed her fist, swung her arm back, and instantly appeared in front of Jubileus. Her massive punch tore through Jubileus' abdomen, making the god scream in agony. Then, the demon grabbed Jubileus by the hair, swung the deity around, and hurled her toward the sun.
After that, the battle became indescribable for Solomon. All he could see were a streak of purple light and a streak of gold, moving at incredible speeds through space. The shockwaves from their clash occasionally struck planetary defense systems and the mirror dimension. From a distance, the Earth's surface seemed to erupt in bursts of radiant fire. The ongoing battle between demon and god shattered all the floating asteroids, the fragments pulled down toward Earth by gravity. Any satellites caught in the crossfire were reduced to space debris.
Solomon swallowed nervously, his throat tightening. After a long while, he cautiously asked the Supreme Sorcerer, "Master, that demon..."
The Supreme Sorcerer smiled faintly. "That's the Queen of Sheba."
"But I'm not Solomon!" Solomon replied, feeling aggrieved. "She's not going to mistake me for him, right? I never did anything like that, she won't come after me, will she?"
"Who knows," the Supreme Sorcerer said with a shrug. "But as they say, when you owe a lot, one more debt doesn't make a difference."
Solomon wanted to cry. Well, not really. He just clutched the trembling Phoenix tightly and continued watching the battle between gods and demons. The outcome soon became clear: with Bader weakened and unable to maintain balance, the Queen of Sheba, summoned by Bayonetta and Jeanne, was far stronger than Jubileus, who only had the power of the "Right Eye."
"There's still time to make the world as it should be, Cereza!" Bader shouted. "Wake up, my beloved daughter!"
"My dear father, even now you're thinking about that?" Bayonetta said. "Mother once tried so hard to save your soul."
"What nonsense are you talking about? Once we create the new world, everything will be saved!"
"What a dull final wish. Why would creating a new world in your own image be something to celebrate? I much prefer the world as it is now." Bayonetta chanted a spell and summoned a massive torture device in the shape of a wooden horse. A long black whip appeared in the Queen of Sheba's hand, which she used to bind Jubileus by the ankles, dragging her onto the torture device. The whip tightened around the god, and the sharp ridges on the horse's back brought Jubileus immense pain, forcing her to cry out.
Solomon covered his eyes—if he ever ended up in the Abyss, the demons would surely treat him like this, or worse.
"Let's finish this," Jeanne said, tossing a gun upward. It passed through the magic circle and appeared in the Queen of Sheba's hand, entwined with hair and skulls. "I'll pour all my magic into it."
Bayonetta took the lipstick from her chest and loaded it into her gun. The witch aimed at Jubileus' right eye. "Now, receive Mother's wish!"
"My daughter, it was this miserable world that tore Rosa and me apart! The world must be restored!" The whip marks on Bader's body were clear as he shouted from within the right eye. "The world must return to its original form!"
"Such a boring wish. Mother is waiting for you; she's been waiting a long time." Bayonetta pulled the trigger. "Goodbye, Father."
The lipstick, engraved with the words "BALDER & ROSA 19.3.1411 With love until the end of time," carried Bayonetta's power. It flew across the vast distance and struck Bader within Jubileus' right eye, the immense magic force piercing through his head. In his final moments, he saw his beloved Rosa.
"Rosa…"
"The last of the Sages, farewell!" The Queen of Sheba's gun gathered all of Jeanne's magic, firing a blast of unmatched brilliance. A violent explosion followed, reducing every nearby asteroid to dust. On the other side of Earth, the sun began to rise. A new day had come, and once again, the gods and demons retreated far from the Earth.
The Supreme Sorcerer opened the Eye of Agamotto and turned his hand toward the Earth. The damaged satellites from the battle began to restore themselves—he valued human technological progress, and without those satellites, humanity's space industry and communication systems would need to start over.
The Sorcerer Supreme ordered the planetary defense system to deactivate its most powerful shields, then slowly dispelled the global mirror dimension, leaving only the platform beneath Solomon's feet. Once everything was in order, she opened a portal and pulled the unconscious Jeanne and Bayonetta back from space, both of them knocked out by the battle's intense shockwaves.
"Master, I feel like covering the Earth with the mirror dimension would have been less trouble than killing Jubileus," Solomon quipped. "It seems like it would've been easier to just kill her."
"We can't kill her," the Sorcerer Supreme explained. "Only power from the same source, originating from the Chaos God Aesir, can truly kill Jubileus and prevent her from resurrecting. But for now, I'll send them back. Do you want to join me? Or would you like to take a stroll on the moon? Though there's nothing fun to do there."
"I just want to go home and have a proper meal," Solomon sighed, opening a portal to Bayonetta's apartment in New York. "I'll take them back. I've got a few questions for them… about that demon."
