Chapter 86: Chapter 86
Kamano's arrogant attitude had already infuriated his opponent.
One of the Moonlight clan members—Gale's cousin—pulled out an ancestral short sword from behind him. While not as skilled as Gale, he was still considered one of the more talented individuals in their clan.
Meanwhile, Uchiha Inabi glanced at Kamano with a helpless expression.
Although Kamano's antics were somewhat unprofessional, they served a valuable purpose: drawing attention to their new initiative.
"The first match will be between the two of you," Inabi declared.
Turning to the audience, he announced, "Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to introduce the groundbreaking invention of our Uchiha clan leader: scientific ninja tools and the newly discovered psychic world!"
The crowd consisted not only of civilians and ninja spectators but also wealthy merchants and notable figures who had come out of curiosity after a month of promotion. With wars raging elsewhere, Konoha had become one of the few safe havens for entertainment and spectacle.
One curious merchant turned to his companion and asked, "Scientific ninja tools? Do you know what those are?"
His companion shook his head. "It sounds like some kind of combat equipment. Probably not useful for us. But the psychic world—that's something else. You've heard of the Sannin's legendary summons, right? The giant toad, snake, and slug? Well, apparently, the Uchiha clan found a fire-breathing lizard that's wiped out entire armies!"
"Really? Do you think they'd sell one? Imagine pulling a carriage with a fire-breathing lizard!"
"Are you insane? Those creatures are intelligent! They'd probably burn you to a crisp!"
"True. Guess it's a ninja thing, then."
While the audience speculated, Kamano confidently donned a baseball cap, tilting the brim at a jaunty angle.
"The decision is yours! Bulbasaur!"
He threw a Poké Ball forward. Gale's cousin, startled by the unfamiliar object, instinctively swung his sword, slicing the Poké Ball out of the air.
With a loud clatter, the ball flew off.
"Ah! My Bulbasaur!!" Kamano cried, panicking as he ran to retrieve the Poké Ball.
His civilian teammates facepalmed.
"This idiot! Didn't the teacher say you just press the button to release it? Why throw it?"
"He's just trying to look cool. Isn't that how Lord Toki throws his Poké Balls?"
"Yeah, but Lord Toki has special abilities that let him summon them back remotely!"
Gale's cousin burst into laughter, mocking Kamano. "That's it? Are you a clown?"
The audience joined in, laughing uproariously.
Blushing furiously, Kamano glared at Gale's cousin and shouted, "You're not playing fair!"
Uchiha Inabi's patience wore thin. "If you don't focus, your admission to the ninja academy will be revoked!"
Terrified at the thought of losing his hard-won opportunity, Kamano quickly recomposed himself. This time, he carefully activated the Poké Ball, releasing a red beam of light that materialized into a green creature with a bulb on its back: Bulbasaur.
Gale's cousin tensed, gripping his short sword tightly. "What is that?"
The ninja clan spectators in the stands grew uneasy.
"Is that really a psychic beast? Are they seriously teaching this to children who haven't even become genin yet?"
"It doesn't matter. Summoning requires a lot of chakra. If they're not strong enough, it won't work."
But when the red light faded, a half-human-sized Bulbasaur appeared before everyone.
"What? Not the fire-breathing lizard?"
"Is that... a turtle? What's with the plant on its back?"
Kamano smirked confidently. "Let's go, Bulbasaur! Use Vine Whip!"
Two vines extended from the bulb on Bulbasaur's back, lashing toward Gale's cousin.
"Nani?!"
"Impossible!"
The audience erupted in astonishment.
"Wood Release?!"
Gale's cousin swung his short sword in an attempt to cut the vines, but they moved with incredible agility, wrapping around him in an instant.
"Bulbasaur! Spank him!" Kamano ordered triumphantly.
"What?!" Gale's cousin exclaimed, bewildered.
The vines skillfully yanked down his pants before delivering a series of stinging slaps to his exposed backside.
"Ouch! Ouch! Ouch!!!"
His screams echoed throughout the arena as tears streamed down his face. The other ninja children instinctively covered their own rear ends.
Finally, when Gale's cousin could endure no more, he sobbed, "I surrender! I surrender!"
Uchiha Inabi coughed to regain control of the situation while Kamano reluctantly recalled Bulbasaur back into its Poké Ball.
The audience was stunned into silence.
Inabi took the opportunity to address the crowd. "This is a new race from the psychic world discovered by our clan leader, Lord Toki—the Bulbasaur! As you can see, it is a grass-type psychic beast capable of using grass-based techniques akin to Wood Release."
He gestured for two more Uchiha clan members to step forward.
The first, a genin, released another Bulbasaur. Inabi explained, "Kamano's Bulbasaur is still in its early stages of training, so its abilities are limited. But this one has already reached genin-level strength. Watch closely."
The genin commanded his Bulbasaur to demonstrate a series of techniques, including Growth, Razor Leaf, and Seed Bomb. Each technique showcased considerable power, leaving the audience in awe.
"Bulbasaur's potential isn't limited to these skills," Inabi continued. "With proper training, it can evolve into an even stronger form."
To prove his point, the second Uchiha, a chuunin, released an evolved form: Ivysaur.
Ivysaur's demonstrations of strength and skill further captivated the audience. Its abilities were noticeably more powerful than Bulbasaur's, rivaling those of a seasoned chuunin.
But Inabi wasn't finished. Smirking, he released his own Pokémon: a fully evolved Venusaur.
The massive creature, towering nearly 10 meters tall and carrying a giant tree on its back, let out a thunderous roar that sent chills through the crowd.
Using its ultimate move, Solar Beam, Venusaur created a massive crater in the arena. The audience gasped in terror and amazement.
"This is the pinnacle of the psychic world!" Inabi declared proudly.
At his signal, all the civilian students released their own Pokémon, filling the arena with a diverse array of creatures.
The demonstration left everyone—from wealthy spectators to seasoned ninjas—in stunned silence. The power and potential of the Uchiha clan's discovery were undeniable.
Uchiha Inari grinned:
"What I want to say next is that every graduate from the Konoha Ninja Academy will have access to a psychic beast like this, capable of growth!"
The expressions of the senior ninja clan members shifted dramatically as they stared in shock at the array of psychic beasts.
If ordinary civilian ninjas gained access to these powerful psychic beasts, wouldn't they be able to rival the established ninja clans?

Land of Wind, Sunagakure.
On a rooftop platform, Toki lounged comfortably on a deck chair, lazily watching two women panting as they sparred before him.
It was Pakura and her disciple, Maki, training together.
The sharp clinking of kunai rang out as Maki yelled and hurled a sealing scroll toward Pakura. With a puff of smoke, her vision was obscured.
Pakura squinted slightly, analyzing the situation and admiring her student's ingenuity.
"A smokescreen?" she mused.
However, as the scroll hit the ground, a sealing formation with the kanji for "Capture" lit up.
Pakura's eyes widened, and she leapt backward just in time. A massive net sprang from the scroll, narrowly missing her.
Maki clicked her tongue in frustration. "Ah! So close!"
Toki bit into an apple and sighed.
"This is what normal ninja combat looks like," he muttered to himself.
He wasn't referring to the absurd powers like Susano'o, Wood Release, or Tailed Beast Bombs. Regular ninjas had to rely on shuriken, traps, poisons, and taijutsu in conventional fights.
Toki's thoughts drifted to the competition he had organized in Konoha. It should have concluded by now. He wondered whether it had achieved the desired results.
---
The era of cold weapons was over. With the advent of scientific ninja tools and Pokémon, conventional ninja combat was being redefined.
As long as someone could extract chakra, they could activate a scientific ninja tool, defeat a Pokémon, and train it over time. The ninja world's battles would eventually evolve from traditional weaponry to controlling beasts.
Over time, ninjas' reliance on physical combat skills would diminish, while demand for scientific ninja tools and Pokémon would skyrocket.
Under this system, the Uchiha clan, as the primary distributor of Pokémon, would become the most influential warmonger in the ninja world.
Eventually, when every village adopted this new system, the Uchiha could impose sanctions simply by restricting the supply of Pokémon or ninja tools. This would render other villages powerless and lead to their eventual collapse.
"Conquering without fighting—that's the ultimate strategy," Toki thought.
---
Maki glared at Toki. "What's with that look on your face?"
Toki smirked, taking another bite of his apple. "Nothing. Just happy for a friend whose wife had a baby today."
Maki blinked, confused by the unexpected response.

Kazekage's Office, Sunagakure.
Deep within the Kazekage Building, twelve cloaked figures sat around a massive circular table. Statues of past Kazekages loomed behind them.
At the head of the table sat the Fourth Kazekage, Rasa.
Unlike Konoha, where the Hokage wielded significant power, Sunagakure's elders had far more influence. In truth, Kazekage often served as a tool for their decisions.
One of the elders spoke:
"The truce negotiations with Kirigakure remain at an impasse. Not only have they made unreasonable demands, but they also refuse to compromise on any front."
"But now, with Iwagakure pressing on the other side, we can't afford a drawn-out conflict. We must cut our losses!"
Rasa tapped the table, his expression cold.
"There's no choice… For the sake of the village, Pakura must be sacrificed."
---
The next day.
Rasa summoned Pakura to his office and handed her a mission scroll.
"This mission is of the utmost importance," Rasa explained. "In addition to the escort task, there's a confidential assignment included."
"Our village is under immense pressure fighting on two fronts—against Iwagakure and Kirigakure. To relieve that pressure, we've decided to establish a strategic alliance with Kirigakure."
"This is a classified mission," Rasa emphasized. "You cannot speak of it to anyone. When you reach Kirigakure, a contact will provide further instructions."
