Chapter 20: I Accept Your Confession

Note: I would like to start this chapter with a poem. So, here it is:

Scattered on the ground,

Like the dry leaves in autumn,

When finally gathered by someone,

Only to be incinerated in his heart's fire,

Didn't ask any question,

Didn't even make a noise,

Just provided heat the very end.

RAVEL'S POV—

Sona smirked, "Then, if I do this you won't mind, right?"

I was confused by her words. But right at that moment, she put her lips over mine. Huh? What?! Did she just kiss me? But why? Removing her lips, she announced, "I love you." Love? Whoa?! It wasn't like I wasn't confessed before though, for Sona to confess to me. I never seen it coming.

I shuttered, "W-what a-are y-y-you saying? When?"

"Hmmm... maybe when you walked into my house, or when you cooked food for me. Love has no explanation. It spontaneous; it just happens," Sona smiled seductively. If that's the case, you could have said this earlier before. She continued, "I am not asking you to answer now. I am giving you time."

"I am going away. Deal with this alone. Bye," Ryan said.

'Where are you going? Don't leave me just like that. Ryan!!' But he didn't answer. Hah, fuck him!

I observed Sona's reaction. She was serious. While I like Sona but, I don't know whether I love her or not.

I am dense, and I won't mind this if, someone points it out. But Sona is attractive and there is no denying in that. Her eyes are like spiralling galaxy, drawing me in them. When I see my reflection in them, I find it to be brighter than my reflection in a mirror. She has luscious short black hair, which make even look her more pulchrous. Her personality is like a sundew plant waiting for its prey to come. And here, the prey is me.

I can be pretty artistic too. Although, I don't need to. Now, leaving Sona's matter aside. I still haven't decided what I want from my life. Like in different fanfics, which I had read in my past life, I could've built an army for me. Maybe, I could've had a few businesses running. Or, maybe showcase my power right from the start. I mean, that's what most of them did right. Some became heroes, some became conquers. But that's their story, not mine.

In my past life, I was an otaku, reading fanfics, comics, novels, and watching anime, just like you. Yeah, I am talking about you. So, what do I want? 'With power comes great responsibility?' Nah! 'The powerful always lacerates the weak?' Hmmm... nah! I will not do anything. I will just seat around and let my life take its course on its own. If you are here to complain, you can go back to the real world, and get a real job, one which pays well, despite your obvious disinterest. I destroyed Gintama. I made it a zombie world. Did I regret? Yes, but for a moment. Initially, Ryan tried to make me understand, which worked pretty well. Then, later when I thought about this, I understood something. It's not what I did that made me regret. It was just my hypocrisy that made me regret.

"Who are you talking with?" asked Ryan.

'No one, just some people outside the box. But why are you? Didn't you go away?'

"Yeah, I am going back again." Ryan left again.

Tout de suite, coming back to the main topic. Sona confessed to me. Once again, I going to ask the same question? Do I love her? I don't know but, I do like her. If she loves me then, who am I to refuse?

Taking a deep breath, I said, "Sona, I will tell you right now." She got tensed. I smiled, "I can try. It doesn't matter if, at this moment, I love you or not. But in future, it may happen."

Sona smiled brightly and hugged me. "Does this mean that you are my girlfriend now?" asked Sona.

Hugging her back, I said, "I think the answer is, yes." Her became even more tight, and she kissed my hair. She whispered, "I am very happy, very-very happy."

We went to school holding hands, and this is Sona's idea by the way. The same routine was followed when we headed back to home.

Sitting on my bed, I was eating some chips. Ryan stated, "You are a bit of a scumbag, aren't you?"

'How?'

"You lied to Sona."

I smirked, 'So you were listening, I didn't know that you were such a creep Ryan."

He sneered, "No, it's because I saw what happened in the school. I can't believe that someone as dense as you can lead someone showing fake feelings."

'You are wrong, Ryan. Tell me Ryan, why does Sona like/love me?'

"It's because... er, I—"

'Let me tell you. Love is a very objectified thing. Ninety nine percent of people likes/loves on the basis of something. It may be looks or, his/her cooking ability, his/her character or, his/her status. Now tell me, would Sona love me if I was some ugly, disgusting, poor, roadside person? I believe the answer is, no. Only one percent people love a person's soul, their heart truly beats for the other person. If I ask Sona, would she kill her family for me? She would immediately leave me and kick me out, saying that I am a lunatic. But if she agrees, then that's obsession, not love.'

Ryan became quiet hearing my words. He asked, "Then, what would you do?"

'Nothing, I will be a good girlfriend until, she leaves me from her side. As I said before, I like Sona though, I don't like her. But that doesn't mean that I can't love her. There are countless things for me to love her. So, I would fall in love with her.'
