Reincarnated As Shiba Clan’s Heir! (Bleach-Gin)

Ch58- Oath

The group sat in silence, taking in Kazuki's revelation. This was something extraordinary, even in a world where supernatural abilities were commonplace. A single Zanpakuto transforming into different forms, concealing and revealing its powers at the user's discretion, was unheard of.

"Kazuki," Yoruichi said, breaking the silence. Her voice was soft, but the determination within was palpable. "This changes everything. We need to be more vigilant around Aizen."

She turned to the rest of the group, her golden eyes reflecting the seriousness of the situation. "All of us. We can't let Aizen suspect anything, and we need to ensure that Kazuki's abilities remain hidden."

"There is a reason why Aizen hasn't tried to directly kill me so far. It's not easy to kill a Shinigami or a student of Shin'o Academy and just walk away with it. That's why he's been trying to create accidents that would incapacitate or even kill me since we started field trips."

Understanding flickered in Kensei's eyes. "Of course, how could Aizen make such mistakes?" He recalled their first field trip when Aizen 'accidentally' aimed at Kazuki's Kido, the one that was holding the hollow down instead of the hollow itself, freeing it. At the time, he had chalked it up to Aizen being nervous and making a mistake, but Aizen was one of the best in the class.

"Aizen's Shikai has the ability to alter people's perception. It can not only alter what you see, but it can also affect what you smell, what you feel on your skin, and even what you hear. It's extremely potent, and once you see it, it's over," Kazuki said, his voice firm and clear, as if stating an undeniable fact.

"But how do you know all this, Kazu?" Mashiro asked, confusion evident in her voice.

Kazuki's fingers brushed against the hilt of his sword. "Kamijō Tenseiga can devour Reiatsu-based attacks and in rare cases, allows me to temporarily use those abilities. When Aizen first used his Shikai on me, Kamijō Tenseiga devoured the attack. Now I know how his Shikai works. He says it's a simple water type illusion, but it's a lie. I'm sure he'll try to demonstrate it to you soon, either in class or in a spar after class. When that happens, be careful and let me protect you from his attack. Once he believes he has us under control, we'll have the upper hand."

The group absorbed this new information, understanding the seriousness of the situation. Aizen's Shikai's ability to alter perception, the illusion of it being a simple water type, and the critical advantage it gave him, all sunk in slowly. Kazuki's own unique ability to 'devour' and mimic these attacks provided a small but essential glimmer of hope.

A silence descended upon them, broken only by the faint rustling of leaves overhead and the distant murmur of the lake. Finally, Kensei sighed, his voice heavy with unspoken concern. "I wish you didn't tell us all of that, Kazuki."

The girls all turned to him in surprise, but he held up a hand to stall their protests. "Not that I would ever betray your trust," he quickly added, his gaze meeting each of theirs in turn. "But there are other ways to get information, and it would kill me if I were to inadvertently lead to any harm."

At this, Kazuki simply smiled, reaching out to clap a hand onto Kensei's shoulder. "I trust all of you," he said, his voice steady and certain. At that, the girls couldn't help but smile as well, warmth flickering in their gazes.

Even Kensei, usually so stoic, let a small smile curve his lips. "We appreciate that, and thank you for your trust. I know the lengths you would go for us," he said, his eyes lingering on Kazuki's calm features. "That is why you are who you are. That is why I have decided to take an oath."

Before Kazuki could interrupt, Yoruichi leapt forward, pinning him to the ground with a playful grin. With Lisa sitting on his chest and Mashiro on his face, he was effectively immobilized. Even Isane, usually so shy, held his hands down.

Taking a deep breath, Kensei began. "I, Kensei Mugurama, in the sacred name of the Soul King, do pledge an unyielding vow to safeguard the hidden truths of Kazuki Shiba. With resolute conviction, I solemnly swear that should I ever betray this sacred trust, my very soul shall bear the weight of an accursed fate, and my indomitable Reiatsu shall unleash its wrath, shattering the very chain of destiny that binds me."

"NO!" Kazuki protested, his voice muffled by Mashiro who was seated on his face. His eyes, wide with surprise and the slightest hint of embarrassment, darted around to each of his friends.

Isane, usually demure and soft-spoken, was the first to follow Kensei's lead. Her fingers tightened on Kazuki's hands as she cleared her throat. "I, Isane Kotetsu, by the sacred name of the Soul King, vow an unwavering oath to protect the concealed truths of Kazuki Shiba. With unwavering certainty, I solemnly swear that should I ever betray this precious trust, my spirit will bear the weight of a cursed fate, and my abundant Reiatsu will unleash its rage, breaking the very chain of destiny that binds me."

Following Isane, Mashiro, still gleefully pinning Kazuki, spoke with her usual enthusiasm. "I, Mashiro Kuna, in the holy name of the Soul King, pledge an unshakeable oath to safeguard the secret truths of Kazuki Shiba. With unrelenting determination, I solemnly swear that if I ever betray this hallowed trust, my very soul shall endure the burden of an ill-fated destiny, and my potent Reiatsu will vent its fury, fracturing the very chain of destiny that ties me."

Lisa, who was sitting on his chest, leaned over, her long hair curtaining her face and obscuring Kazuki's view. "I, Lisa Yadomaru, by the sanctified name of the Soul King, take an undying oath to protect the confidential truths of Kazuki Shiba. With unwavering resolve, I solemnly swear that if I ever betray this sacred trust, my soul will bear the weight of a damned fate, and my vigorous Reiatsu will unleash its wrath, severing the very chain of destiny that connects me."

Lastly, Yoruichi, her golden eyes sparkling with a mix of determination and playfulness, wiggled on his lap. "I, Yoruichi Shihoin, in the divine name of the Soul King, vow an unyielding oath to guard the secret truths of Kazuki Shiba. With steadfast conviction, I solemnly swear that if I ever betray this revered trust, my soul will bear the weight of a cursed fate, and my powerful Reiatsu will vent its fury, shattering the very chain of destiny that binds me."

As each of them finished their oath, they released Kazuki, the light of determination illuminating their faces. His heart pounded in his chest, a whirl of emotions threatening to consume him. But amidst the chaos, a sense of peace washed over him. The trust they shared was immense, their bond unbreakable. Even with the threat looming over them, Kazuki knew they were capable of overcoming anything, as long as they stood together.

"We'll protect each other, Kazuki," Yoruichi said, her hand finding its way to his shoulder, her grip firm and reassuring.

"Indeed," Kensei added, a rare smile on his face. "And if Aizen tries anything, he'll have to face us all."
