Chapter 141: Master
"Here they are." Albert smiled.
"Ah?!"
"All of them are here."
The staff from the guild were happy with this achievement since they had saved eighty percent of the people with another ten percent having been confirmed dying. The rest was still scattered around the forest.
"Take them." Albert waved his hand to allow them to bring all these druids.
Without hesitation, the people immediately went straight to them and carried them. Meanwhile, Albert went to his people and asked, "Was there anyone making a problem?"
"No." Shella shook her head.
"Alright. Let's go back then." Albert nodded with a serious expression. "After that, we can get the reward."
The group acknowledged his order and went back together with other adventurers.
It didn't take long for them to come out of the forest.
As soon as they left, they saw several people coming toward them, watching how they brought back so many people at once.
After that, one of the staff approached Albert. "Thank you very much for your effort."
"It's fine." Albert waved his hand with a smile, treating it as not a big deal.
"I have properly recorded it. May I receive the cores? We'll record everything for you so that you can exchange it with money and contribution points in the guild when you're back."
"Sure." Albert agreed without hesitation and turned to Yale.
"Here you go."
Since they had killed so many tree spirits, they had two bags worth of cores, startling the guild's staff.
"So many? But well, you have saved so many people here, I guess I should have expected this. I'll count it for you." The staff politely smiled.
"I'll go with you." Yale opened his mouth. Although they had helped the guild big time, he still didn't want them to be taken advantage of, so the most optimal option was to follow him.
"Alright. Please follow me."
He nodded and led Yale to another place.
On the other hand, Albert sat down and looked at the others. "While Yale takes care of the problem, I'm going to ask you first… Anyone planning to stay in this place for a bit longer to monitor the tree spirits?"
"There should only be 20 tree spirits left in that place. And assuming there are more that we haven't caught, I believe there are around 60 tree spirits left in this place with some to be dryads." Shella paused for a moment. "If that's the case, it's better for me to stay. No one is going to find me, so it's going to be a piece of cake."
"I can do that too." Irena raised her voice, stopping Shella from taking the opportunity.
"I don't know if I can do it or not… It's not that I'm afraid I'll fail… I don't know which is more important, taking care of Master or completing this mission." Bepe looked down, falling into deep thought.
"I will do my best." Jessie raised his hand. "As long as I can be of any use to Master, I'll do it."
"Well… I need to let you know that there's no reward for this one… I mean, I can't use my special skill again." Albert sighed.
"Master, please don't insult us." Irena glared at Albert. She wanted to get angry but chose to swallow it again. After a deep breath, Irena said, "We're doing it not for reward. We want to do it because it's our job. Master's kindness is already beyond many other masters, so please don't think it's like that.
"We simply want to repay Master's kindness. Not only do you treat us this well, but you also give us a future. With this power, we can do anything we want in the future. That's why I sincerely want to follow Master until my last breath. Doing this job is nothing but an opportunity for me to repay Master's kindness.
"Irena…" Albert couldn't help but smile.
Jessie immediately added, "I also want to show that Master's training has given me confidence. I want Master to see that I've changed. Please let me have this opportunity."
Bepe didn't say anything as he still wondered whether he should serve Albert in daily life or do this mission.
On the other hand, Shella chuckled and said, "Milord. You're loved by others. I'm not sure whether you know it or not, but you are kind and different from others. Having you as their master is their good fortune.
"After getting so many things from you, they have always thought they can't repay you in any way. No matter how kind you are, you shouldn't forget that they are your slaves. It's common sense for the slave to work hard.
"Also, I'm suggesting not to think about releasing them. Although I'm not very sure about the bond between you and them, I don't think they want to leave your side as well." Shella added.
"Is that so? But are you sure it's fine to say it in front of them?" Albert frowned.
"Yes." Jessie was the first to answer. "I just want Master to know that the slave contract is the most cherished relationship for me. This way, I belong to Master and can be useful for you."
"He took the words out of my mouth." Irena looked away.
"Ahaha…" Albert chuckled and thought for a moment. "I guess I will ask Irena this time."
Irena's expression brightened as she lowered her head. "Thank you for your trust, Master. I won't disappoint you."
"How about the food and drink?" Albert frowned.
"I should be able to handle that, Master." Shella nodded. "I'll return here with food and drink for Irena."
"Is that so? Alright then." Albert commanded, "For the next three days, Irena shall stand by here and eliminate all the tree spirits. After finishing this mission, you shall return to the mansion immediately."
"I've received your order, Master." Irena lowered her head again.
Albert continued for a while until Yale returned with the receptionist, showing it the result.
"We've dealt with 201 tree spirits and rescued 143 people. According to the request from the guild, we're to be paid 93 Gold Coins and 67 Silver Coins."
"Alright." He nodded. "Let's go back then. Irena will settle the rest and hopefully can finish the guild's job here."
"Understood."
