Chapter 142: Anger
As soon as they returned to the city, Yale volunteered. "Teacher. Please go back to the mansion. I'll take care of the reward from the Adventurer Guild."
"Is that so?" Albert tilted his head in confusion. He was worried that Yale would be picked on by the Adventurer Guild because of what happened in the plain.
"Please don't worry about me. The identity we've got from the Adventurer Guild is not fake. This should be enough for Bepe and Jessie to rank up too, so it's a perfect opportunity for us." Yale explained.
"Alright. I'll leave it to you, Yale." Albert nodded in agreement.
"In that case, after we return, I'll buy all the ingredients and supplies for Irena," Bepe added.
"Thank you, Bepe."
"It's my honor, Master."
After coming to an agreement, Albert bid goodbye to Yale and returned to the mansion to check the progress of his Horny Jail.
Meanwhile, Yale led the two to the Adventurer Guild.
Little did they know, their trip to the Adventurer Guild would be an experience they didn't wish to see.
As soon as they entered the Adventurer Guild, Yale headed straight to the counter and handed the proof given from the staff earlier.
The receptionist was a middle-aged guy that looked like an experienced and gentle guy. "Hi, is there anything I can help you with?"
"Yeah, so my team had just gone to help the druid about the tree spirit."
"Ah, the emergency quest. I understand. Do you have the proof from the guild staff there?"
Yale nodded and handed the paper with a serious expression. "Here we go."
He also gave the identity issued by the guild to show him that he was a C Rank Adventurer. "This is my identity. I'm hoping to use the contribution point to rank up my team members."
"Thank you." The middle-aged guy looked at the paper and widened his eyes in disbelief. The number was so great that he couldn't believe Yale's group could do it, judging from his age alone.
It had been signed by the guild staff, so this proof was real.
That was the exact reason for the middle-aged guy to be suspicious. He furrowed his eyebrows and said, "If you want to tamper this proof, please do it in a way that we can believe it."
"201 Tree Spirit? There were supposed to be around 320 to 350 Tree Spirits inside there. And your group has rescued 143 people? You should know how hard a dryad can be. This is the most unbelievable thing. You killed the mother tree? It is impossible.
"Do you think I don't know that the mother tree is supposed to be protected by many dryads? I have been experienced as a receptionist for decades that I know how hard they are. And you claim to deal with more than half of the entire situation… Do you think you are an S Rank Adventurer?" The middle-aged man gritted his teeth and slammed the table.
Yale's expression became extremely cold.
'Kindness, huh. I was the one suggesting it to Teacher, and he believed in me. Teacher should have predicted something like this from the start… Although the adventurers that helped us bring the bodies didn't cheat us, he should have known there's another hurdle.' Yale realized that he was still too naive, and this naivety had brought trouble to his Teacher.
"Just take a look at the handwriting. You should recognize it! There is no change in the handwriting, meaning it was written by one person." Yale explained with a calm expression.
"Heh, good imitation." The middle-aged guy snorted.
"Listen here, you little shit! If you can't even trust your colleague, what's the point of having them writing this proof?" Yale slammed the table too and raised his voice. "I want to meet with this Branch's guild master!"
"A C Rank Adventurer thinks you can meet with the guild master so easily?" The middle-aged man shouted back.
Their fight somehow attracted the attention of the people around them. The whispers started filling the guild, turning this situation even bigger.
"Is this your will or your guild's rule?" Yale asked once more, giving him the chance to redeem himself.
"I've told you the rule. You are not allowed to alter the proof."
"Good, good…" Yale chuckled as he released his black and white energy, enveloping it around himself. "It seems that you're planning to do this in a hard way."
When the people saw this, they were shocked.
"Hey… Aren't those light and dark elements?"
"Does that mean he's an anomaly?"
"But there doesn't seem to be any problem with his element. So, he's among the one percent?"
"Those who can wield two elements always become at least an S Rank. But the majority of them can become SS or even SSS Rank who can fight against an Elder Dragon and the like…"
"This kid has such talent?"
As if recognizing this power, someone approached him and called him out.
"Prince Yale!" Suddenly, a female's voice resounded inside the guild. However, due to the whispers in the hall being too loud, no one heard Yale's title.
Yale turned around and saw Steph standing in horror.
She had seen Yale's expression and realized something was going on.
On the other hand, Yale truly found the best option to deal with this nonsense.
"Hey, isn't that the Brothel Manager?"
"She rarely comes out, but…"
The chatters gradually shifted from Yale to Steph, but Yale simply ignored all of them and walked to Steph, handing the proof to her.
He said, "I'm going to consult my teacher about this too, but I think he'll agree with me. The reward that Her Majesty Lilith owes to my teacher… I think she can pay for it in three conditions. First, if you have any requests, personally ask and guarantee. You should have the transmission mirror, right? Use that. We won't accept unless she asks us.
"Second, deal with the situation you've created yourself. Third, the adventurer guild might be a neutral party in your territory, but by no means can it escape your law. Pass this to her and she'll understand. I'll make sure my teacher knows about this incident…"
Yale didn't even bother to look at her anymore. He simply walked away with a cold expression.. Unbeknownst to them, a small smile appeared on Yale's face.
