Chapter 104: An Impossible Feat

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Different from any of the Undead that had fought against Feng in the passage, the being standing in front of Feng at the moment didn't look like a skeleton or a zombie at all. Instead, the creature had pale-white skin, a pair of blood-red eyes that stared dead ahead, and short white hair.
It only wore a simple set of armor that gave off no special feeling, while its hands were empty, with no weapon in sight. Yet, Feng was instantly on guard the moment he made eye contact with the creature. He then activated the Eyes of Truth.
[Blood Saint] (Undead, Legendary)
Level 50
HP 500,000,000/500,000,000
The terrifying aura surrounding the Blood Saint caused Feng to frown, not being a fan of how strong he could feel the Legendary monster was. Moreover, there was clear intelligence in the Blood Saint's eyes, different from his previous opponents who had still been more like monsters.
This Legendary ranked Undead, though, gave more of an impression of an NPC.
While Feng observed the Blood Saint, its emotionless gaze landed on him as well. The Legendary monster stood still for a while, not rushing toward Feng right away.
Feng wasn't too eager to engage in a fight with such an opponent and didn't charge at the Blood Saint either. From its temperament and movements, along with its aura, Feng could tell that the Blood Saint had very high combat standards, and since it would naturally beat him when it came to attributes, facing the Legendary Undead head-on wasn't a good idea.
He wanted the Blood Saint to make the first move.
'It's fast!' And indeed, the Blood Saint's patience didn't last for too long, soon deciding to attack after seeing that Feng wasn't willing to approach it. From the moment it moved, the Blood Saint reached Feng in the blink of an eye, seemingly appearing three yards from him as if using Instantaneous Movement.
But the Legendary monster was simply too quick, even Feng barely keeping up with its movements. It was leagues above the Superior Mythic ranked Blood Emperors, being much faster and each of its movements having an Advanced Combat Technique integrated into them.
Thankfully, Passive Skills from the items on him still took effect, which included Yog-Sothoth's skills, so Feng had his speed slightly increased by stealing a small amount from the Blood Saint. Additionally, when it entered within a six-yard radius of Feng, its speed was gradually decreased the closer the Blood Saint and its attacks got to him.
Still, the Blood Saint was frighteningly fast, and Feng immediately prepared to defend himself from its attack. Only, he wasn't sure how it would attack or what type of strike it would be since the Blood Saint didn't have a weapon, the Legendary monster coming at him barehanded.
His question was answered in the next moment, a three-meter-long spear appearing in the Blood Saint's hands as it stabbed at him, creating numerous spearlights which made it seem like a wall of spears was moving towards Feng.
Reacting promptly, Feng expertly saw through the Advanced Bronze Combat Technique and dodged most of the spearlights while changing the trajectory of the rest with his own Combat Techniques.
After emerging through the wall of spears unharmed and approaching the Blood Saint, unwilling to stay at a distance where it could attack him with its spear while remaining out of his range, Feng finally realized the true extent of this Level 50 Legendary monster's strength.
With every time their weapons connected, Feng's entire body shook from the collision, nearly knocking the Pandemonium Lashblade and Abyssal Blade out of his hands as Feng deflected the attacks due to the Blood Saint's immense strength.
Even right now as he closed the distance between himself and the Blood Saint, Feng's hands were still slightly shaking. If not for Spectral Composition, one of the Wraithwood Sigil's Passive Skills, Feng was sure his hands would have turned numb from countering so many powerful attacks.
Knowing that he couldn't afford to take any hits from the Blood Saint's spear, Feng decided to stick close to the Legendary monster where it couldn't utilize the long weapon's range.
In the next moment, however, the Blood Saint let go of its three-meter-long spear, the weapon turning into particles of light, while a scythe appeared in its hands.
The scythe's curved blade was quick as it moved to slice Feng, the Blood Saint seeming quite proficient with the weapon and attacking without delay during the switching of weapons.
At this range, it would be difficult to block or evade the Blood Saint's attack, and Feng was in a very disadvantageous position to the scythe's blade due to it curving around him, making it impossible to move in any direction to avoid it.
Faced with the incoming slice, Feng executed Void Steps, momentarily disappearing from the Legendary monster's vision before it managed to locate him. But Feng had already ducked and went under the scythe during that moment, the Blood Saint's attack missing and leaving it defenseless as it attempted to bring back its scythe.
Its reaction was too slow, though, and Feng instantly arrived before it, slashing his swords at the Blood Saint.
Dang!
Unexpectedly, two daggers appeared in the Blood Saint's hands as the scythe disappeared, with which it perfectly blocked Feng's attacks. Feng wanted to go for another slash, but instinctively pulled back while brandishing his swords. Sparks flew out, and Feng could feel a stupefying amount of pressure on his weapons as he retreated a step back.
Compared to its previous immense Attack Speed, the speed of the Blood Saint's current attacks while wielding daggers was even more monstrous. Feng could barely see the afterimages of its attacks, and the only reason that he didn't instantly get sliced up and killed was because he had defended against them instinctively upon sensing danger.
He immediately backed away, but the Legendary monster followed, intent on killing him. When it brandished its daggers again, Feng could only stay on the defensive and rely on his instincts to avoid getting stabbed. Thankfully, the Blood Saint's Attack Power was not as high while using daggers as what Feng experienced when blocking its spear, so he could cope between blocking the blows without succumbing to its high Strength.
The Blood Saint's attack range also wasn't very large while wielding daggers, so Feng could rely on Footwork and Body Combat Techniques to dodge most of the attacks. Although the Blood Saint was much faster than Feng in terms of attributes and could use all kinds of Bronze and Advanced Bronze Combat Techniques, Feng's combat standards were greatly superior, so he could outmaneuver and make distance from the Legendary Undead.
At the right moment when the Blood Saint's onslaught paused for an instant, Feng used a Silver Footwork Combat Technique and Lightning Flash in unison to move past the white-haired monster while striking its calf, hoping to make the Blood Saint lose its balance for a moment.
However, the Legendary monster didn't even budge, seemingly not affected by his strike, while a damage of only -471,899 appeared above its head. Even though the monsters inside the Blood Refining Passage had HPs much lower than monsters in the outside world, with a Level 50 Legendary monster like the Blood Saint only having 500,000,000 HP, Feng's damage didn't take away even 0.1% of its total HP despite him using a powerful attack-type Bronze Combat Technique.
While Feng was mulling over the damage and thinking up several different strategies, the Blood Saint suddenly turned around with its arms raised in the air, a massive greatsword within its grasp, and it instantly slashed down at Feng as if intending to cut him in half.
Quickly dodging, Feng attempted to distance himself from the Blood Saint, its quick and unpredictable changing of weapons throwing him off guard and making it difficult to react to the Legendary monster's insane Attack Speed.
Due to its unusual fighting style and deep proficiency with all of the weapons it had shown so far, along with being capable of using Advanced Bronze Combat Techniques, a regular Tier 5 player would quickly fall under the Blood Saint's attacks if they didn't have access to any of their skills or ability to use Mana.
Even a Tier 6 player wouldn't be capable of defeating the Legendary monster unless they were very well equipped since players heavily relied on manipulating Mana to fight unlike monsters, and their base damage wasn't high enough to outpace a Tier 5 monster's natural recovery without skills; even with the Blood Saint having less HP than regular Legendary monsters.
Only those who could also use Combat Techniques and had high combat standards could compete with the Blood Saint, but considering it could use multiple weapons and powerful Combat Techniques itself, an expert at the Third Step of the Domain Realm would probably not be able to stand against it for long.
Beyond Domain Realm experts, on the other hand, would be capable of reacting and adapting fast enough to the Blood Saint's tactics, but draining its HP without skills or Mana was another story even at Tier 5; though not impossible.
Feng was neither a Beyond Domain Realm expert nor a Tier 5 player, but he wasn't too far behind. When it came to his instincts and reaction time, Feng was on par with Unthinking Realm experts, and only his senses were lacking, being unable to perceive the world the same as Beyond Domain Realm experts; only getting close to it thanks to his training and experience, which was why he was considered a Half-step Beyond Domain Realm expert.
As for his attributes, they surpassed those of most Tier 5 players who don't have Legendary Equipment and Weapons. Though, he currently wasn't nearly as strong as an actual Tier 5 player as he lacked Tier 5 skills, Physique, Concentration, a Mana Body, and control over Mana; which were the main things that made Tier 5 beings powerful.
However, in a place like the Blood Refining Passage, where skills and Mana don't work, Feng wasn't much weaker compared to a real Tier 5 player, and he could take on the Blood Saint without getting killed. The only problem was his low damage.
When Feng attempted to make some distance from the Blood Saint, it instantly gave chase while changing to a pair of blood-red longswords. The Legendary monster was hot on Feng's ass and he couldn't shake it off due to the difference in their attributes.
Whenever he did widen the distance slightly, the Blood Saint would just bring out a weapon with a larger attack range, and continue striking at him. It naturally wasn't enough to do anything to Feng, and he kept flawlessly avoiding all of the Blood Saint's attacks.
Once Feng was around three yards from the Legendary monster, it brought out the spear, piercing rapidly towards Feng with its longest weapon. This instead provided Feng with a better opportunity to widen the gap between them, and the moment the Blood Saint tried going in for the kill again with a Combat Technique, Feng neutralized the attack while simultaneously using it as a chance to create further distance.
The distance between them instantly grew to over five yards, and the Blood Saint was no longer able to approach Feng or attack him.
Apparently realizing that there was no hope in catching up to Feng, the Legendary monster seemingly gave up on its pursuit, stopping in its tracks.
Feng thought that the Blood Saint was intelligent enough to know it couldn't reach him at the speed he was moving from it and widening the gap, so it didn't bother chasing anymore, when he sensed it not continue coming after him. Suddenly, though, a great sense of danger assaulted Feng, alerting him that there was a threat to his life, and he couldn't help glancing at the Blood Saint.
Its three-meter-long spear had disappeared, and in the Undead's hands was a black and red longbow, along with a crimson arrow knocked on the bow's string.
A sense of death instantly permeated throughout Feng's body the moment he saw the Blood Saint aim its arrow at him, and he immediately read the trajectory of where it would go, starting to move his head out of the way in advance to avoid getting head-shotted.
However, in the next moment, Feng felt the wind powerfully roar next to his head as a few of his hair strands shattered, followed by a loud boom behind him. Before Feng had realized it, the Blood Saint had fired the arrow, which flew through the air too fast for Feng to even see it, let alone react to the threat.
If not for Feng instinctively moving his head out of the way in preparation for the upcoming attack, he would have definitely died just there to the Legendary monster's arrow. This served to shock Feng as none of the other monsters in the Blood Refining Passage had ever used ranged attacks, and he hadn't thought the Blood Saint would be any different.
Without hesitation, Feng turned around and charged at the Blood Saint. With how fast the arrows were, there was no way Feng would be able to react in time to survive like that again, so he must not let the Blood Saint use its bow a single more time.
Originally intending to fire another arrow which had magically appeared in its hand at Feng, the Blood Saint was forced to abandon that idea when Feng came back at it, the human moving too quickly for it to aim and fire without risking its enemy getting too close, so the Blood Saint switched back to its spear and charged towards Feng as well.
Following which, a sort of boring battle ensued as Feng kept jumping around like a monkey, avoiding all of the Blood Saint's attacks without daring to directly face them while managing to land a few hits, which did nothing due to the Legendary Undead's high HP and natural recovery, while the Blood Saint rapidly switched through various types of weapons and Combat Techniques in an attempt to kill Feng.
"Not bad," Instead of showing any signs of nervousness or anxiety in his situation while fighting against such a powerful Legendary ranked monster, Feng felt himself growing slightly excited.
The pressure was very much welcomed by him since it allowed Feng to push himself further and improve. Normally, he'd rely on skills, Mana, or various other tools and means in order to beat enemies like the Blood Saint.
But now, Feng couldn't use any of them in this fight that was purely of combat standards, which forced him to utilize different methods in order to defeat this unique opponent.
Feng saw some hope in finally achieving a breakthrough.
Hence, he engaged in a head-on battle with the Blood Saint, pushing his senses to the limit and fighting against it with only technique in hopes of reaching the Beyond Domain Realm through such combat.
Ultimately, however, Feng ended up disappointed even after an hour of fighting.
Although its fighting style was extremely complex, unpredictable, and downright absurd with how many different weapons the Blood Saint uses and cycles through, Feng's senses and instincts were simply too keen.
Normally, the Blood Saint's versatility in the types of weapons it could use would be an incredible advantage against any opponent since it could allow the Blood Saint to quickly and efficiently adapt and react in response to the opponent's moves and attacks, playing a perfect counter against them any time no matter which tactic they employed.
But Feng ended up turning this greatest strength of its into a crippling weakness during their fight. His experience and fighting capabilities allowed Feng to quickly adapt to the Blood Saint's fighting style and come up with a way to combat it, using the Legendary monster's opportunistic weapon switching into baiting it to use a certain type of weapon, and instantly countering it with a different attack style before the Blood Saint could properly use its weapon and forcing it to switch to another.
Even with the Blood Saint's high combat standards, reaching the Ascension Realm, it still fell behind Feng by a large margin.
After fighting the Blood Saint for a while, Feng could accurately predict what weapon it was going to use and how to counter it without allowing the Legendary monster to display its full strength, constantly making its efforts futile while he continued landing hits.
The Blood Saint even grew desperate enough at one point to abandon using its weapons and simply came at Feng barehanded, hoping that its speed would allow it to grab Feng's weapons and beat the human to a pulp with its fists.
But Feng simply copied the Blood Saint and sheathed his swords as well, engaging in a fistfight with the Legendary monster.
This would normally be extraordinarily stupid considering the massive difference in their attributes. However, aside from being an expert in God's Domain, Feng was also a martial arts master.
Its choice to stop using any weapons and rely purely on brute strength only ended up embarrassing the Legendary monster even more, with Feng easily making it look like an amateur in the exchange and beating up the Blood Saint.
Though, his punches and bare-handed attacks did essentially nothing to the Legendary monster, which was to be expected.
Seeing that this way of fighting won't lead to defeating their opponent, both the human and monster went back to using weapons, reigniting the previous fight.
Evidently, that wasn't going to lead to any kind of outcome either though. Feng had already completely adapted to the Blood Saint's fighting style and attacks, making it impossible for the Legendary monster to land any hits on him unless it used a different move.
On the other hand, Feng's damage was simply too low, and he stood no chance at draining the Legendary monster's HP. Even with his tactic, there weren't many opportunities to land a blow on the Blood Saint due to its rapid and versatile attack patterns utilizing multiple types of weapons, so Feng could only do so much damage.
Rarely is it enough to offset the HP naturally regenerated by the Blood Saint.
Feng's damage output wouldn't increase by a large amount no matter how much Feng improved his current strategy without giving up on it either since he had already attempted most of the tools at his disposal.
It was due to the few openings between the Blood Saint changing its weapon that Feng could capitalize the Legendary monster's fighting style to his advantage, but it also greatly limited his damage dealing.
Attacking from a distance wasn't possible though, the Blood Saint's ranged capabilities being too strong for Feng to risk distancing himself from the white-haired monster, thus he had thought of staying just out of the range of the Blood Saint's spear while throwing the Blazing Meteor at it, all the while remaining too close for the Legendary monster to switch to its bow.
In theory, it worked, but the Blood Saint's Reaction Speed was similarly monstrous, reacting in time to simply slap away the flaming needle with the back of its hand before the Blazing Meteor could reach it; instantly making that idea useless.
At the rate things were going, Feng doubted that he'd be able to take away even 10% of the Blood Saint's HP before he completely ran out of Stamina and Concentration due to the enormous expenditure he was enduring while using so many high-ranking Combat Techniques.
During this time, however, Feng had also discovered a different way of defeating the Legendary Undead.
He only didn't attempt it until now out of hope that the Blood Refining Passage's environment and the Blood Saint's capabilities would push him to his limits, allowing Feng to finally cross that threshold.
This situation was perfect for Feng to achieve the feat.
Unfortunately, the current state of God's Domain was too lacking, making the Blood Saint's combat standards too weak for Feng to be pressured enough. If he had fought the Blood Saint with his current strength after a few more system evolutions or a Major Update, perhaps the outcome would have been different
Feng might have even finally been able to become a Beyond Domain Realm expert.
Now noticing that there was no chance at him reaching a higher Realm, Feng gave up on the thought.
Stepping back, Feng moved away from the Blood Saint.
The Legendary monster attempted to give chase as it switched to a lance, but during its transition to the new weapon, a curving, black light struck the Blood Saint.
Feng slashed the Pandemonium Lashblade, the Demon Sword's chain mechanism having been activated, resulting in the chain sword's length extending to four yards, the Splitting effect having improved after the Pandemonium Lashblade had absorbed the hearts of two Great Demons.
Quickly brandishing the chain sword, Feng sent multiple attacks that resembled black lights due to his high Attack Speed with the chain sword extended at the Blood Saint.
With him standing at a distance of four yards from the Blood Saint and keeping it from bridging the gap, the Legendary Undead was unable to strike at Feng itself, while any attacks that Feng launched accurately landed on their target.
Despite its attempts to block the incoming strikes, the Blood Saint failed to stop a large number of Feng's attacks, the Pandemonium Lashblade's trajectories being too unpredictable for the Legendary monster to intercept in time under Feng's control.
Although each individual blow did less damage to the Blood Saint than Feng's previous powerful attacks, thanks to their consistency and amount, the overall damage greatly surpassed what Feng had achieved before.
Once the Blood Saint saw that using the spear, its longest weapon, was unable to reach Feng regardless of the techniques it used, the Legendary monster switched to a new weapon Feng had not seen it use before.
A large sword resembling a greatsword appeared in the Blood Saint's hands, but unlike a regular sword, there were gaps across the blade that separated the entire sword into several sections.
It turned out that the Blood Saint had a chain sword as well, and when the Undead activated the mechanism, the whip sword's ending edge reached Feng, nearly slashing him in half.
Thankfully, Feng had been on high alert the moment he saw the Blood Saint bring out a new weapon and recognizing it as a chain sword.
It wasn't a development Feng liked to see, but he still quickly suppressed the Blood Saint in the exchange of chain swords, his combat standards and experience gained from watching Celestina use the Pandemonium Lashblade during the previous timeline and using it in this one surpassing what the Blood Saint was capable of.
Hence he could easily deflect all of the Legendary monster's whip attacks while landing many of his own, quickly diminishing the Blood Saint's HP.
The Blood Saint naturally tried to get out of this situation since it was on the losing end, but it could do nothing under Feng's fierce assault.
Decreasing the distance between them wasn't possible, attacking at this distance would lead to its defeat, while forcing its opponent to come closer using the bow didn't work even when the Blood Saint attempted it; with Feng having simply bombarded the monster with attacks to disrupt it while remaining out of the bow's firing trajectory.
Continuously being battered by Feng's strikes, the Blood Saint could do nothing except desperately defend itself.
When the Legendary monster's HP dropped to 50%, a change occurred.
The Blood Saint's white hair suddenly turned blood-red, its eyes glowing a bright crimson, while the pale skin covering the Legendary monster began to rapidly rot.
In a few moments, all of the flesh had fallen off from the Blood Saint, leaving only a skeleton with pearly bones that glistened like diamonds.
Meanwhile, dozens of weapons appeared floating around the Blood Saint one after another.
Longswords, shortswords, a greatsword, daggers, a spear, a battleaxe, a greathammer, a scythe... All of the weapons the Legendary Undead had previously used against Feng, along with many he hadn't seen it take out, now surrounded the Blood Saint as they hovered above it.
As for the Blood Saint itself, it didn't wield any weapons, simply wearing a pair of blood-red spiked knuckles.
While Feng was analyzing the situation, the numerous weapons moved, quickly flying down towards Feng.
Dodging the incoming attacks, Feng managed to avoid all of the flying weapons, but they suddenly changed directions, once again aiming for him. Even the bow shot out an arrow at Feng this time around.
Knowing that they would continue to home after him if he relied on just dodging, Feng didn't bother avoiding any of the incoming threats, executing Sword's Orbit and creating a galaxy of stars around him that deflected all of the attacks.
Although each of the weapons had great power behind them, nearing that of a Superior Mythic monster's strike, Feng could easily neutralize them all using the Silver ranked Sword's Orbit.
However, the moment they were repelled and stabilized, the weapons immediately went back to flying at Feng. Furthermore, the Blood Saint now came at Feng as well, sending multiple jabs in his direction.
Apparently the Blood Saint had not learned from the previous beating it had received when fighting Feng barehanded as it attempted to punch him once more.
Feng continuously dodged all of the Legendary monster's attempts on his life, remaining untouched by the flying weapons and the Blood Saint's knuckles.
Though, the Blood Saint had indeed realized from their previous exchange that it could not best Feng in hand-to-hand combat as it didn't directly attempt to defeat him in such a manner, instead simply attempting to pin him down, limiting his movements and create an opportunity to kill Feng with the flying weapons.
But Feng was too quick on his feet and slipped out of its grasp every time, getting past the barrage of attacks.
Doing nothing but dodging soon resulted in Feng running out of room to run, the Blood Saint cornering him at a wall and leaving Feng with nowhere to continue dodging.
Seemingly having in mind the tactic of pushing Feng to the wall from the beginning, the intensity of the Legendary monster's assault increased by a level the moment Feng was backed up with nowhere to dodge, using an Advanced Bronze Combat Technique to strike at him.
Finding himself in the predicament of not being able to retreat anymore, Feng was forced to meet the Blood Saint head-on. Before the Blood Saint's fist could reach him, Feng executed a lightning-fast slash at it.
Silver Combat Technique, Swordmaster Blitzstrike!
Worldly Purification!
After slaughtering the monsters along the way and pouring all of the gained EXP from them into Worldly Purification, Feng had pushed it to Tier 3 Level 9, only missing a few experience points to upgrade it into a Tier 4 skill.
With the effects of the Pandemonium Lashblade and the Swordsmanship Great Grandmaster Title, Worldly Purification was pushed to having Tier 5 level power. When used against an Undead while containing that type of power, Worldly Purification could even pose a threat to a Legendary monster like the Blood Saint. The only unfortunate part was that its Attack Count had decreased back down to one instead of increasing.
Utilizing the fast Silver Combat Technique, Feng struck the Blood Saint's hand from the side, a golden light of purification which turned its armor into ashes covering the Abyssal Blade.
The powerful force behind Feng's attack deflected the Legendary monster's punch while also damaging its arm, neutralizing the immediate threat.
However, the Blood Saint followed up with another attack without any hesitation or concern, sending the weapons hovering above them into a dive towards Feng as well.
After using up Worldly Purification, which had a cooldown of a few minutes at Tier 3 Level 9, Feng no longer had the option of fighting with the Blood Saint in a direct clash from his current position, while he couldn't back away or dodge to the side anymore.
So, he went in another direction.
Grabbing onto the wall behind him with one hand, following a jump, Feng threw himself upwards, avoiding the Blood Saint's fist by a thread as it crashed into the wall.
Without skipping a beat, the Legendary monster followed up on Feng's escape.
Up in the air, Feng couldn't jump around and dodge anymore, and since he had no chance of avoiding its attacks, the Blood Saint went all out, using its strongest attack in an attempt to instantly eliminate the intruder.
Brandishing its fists, the Blood Saint punched out over fifty times in a second, creating a large illusionary fist around one of its knuckles with which it lashed out at Feng. At the same time, the various flying weapons never slowed their barrage, having immediately turned to fly higher at Feng, and they all executed Combat Techniques at around the Advanced Bronze standard.
"Is this your final trump card?" Feng calmly inquired while losing his vertical moment and going back to obeying gravity's will.
The sight of so many dangerous weapons already containing power nearing Superior Mythic monsters coming at him from all sides and making use of Advanced Bronze Combat Techniques, along with a Legendary ranked monster using a Silver Combat Technique while in Feng's shoes and having nowhere to dodge would normally scare anyone shitless, including most Tier 6 Beyond Domain Realm experts.
However, Feng showed no signs of being nervous, remaining completely stoic in the face of such astronomical danger despite his status as a Tier 1 player.
Instead, he was slightly disappointed, but it made sense this was the extent of the Blood Saint's power after he thought about it for a moment; and Feng once again lamented the shame of not being able to fight against the Blood Saint when God's Domain reached a later stage of its development.
Deciding it was time to end this fight and claim his prize, Feng, with the front of his body facing the ground, pulled back the Pandemonium Lashblade with its tip pointed at the incoming giant fist and weapons.
In the next moment, he started madly stabbing downwards.
Silver Combat Technique, Maddening Rain!
Black-silver lights began falling from above like rain, with Feng's sword as their origin, as they collided with the many flying weapons and shot them down.
Within a few moments, all of the weapons were sent into a rapid descent, cluttering all over the ground after one of the lights struck them in midair. The fist formed from the Blood Saint's Silver Combat Technique held up for a short while against the attacks as several lights struck it each second, the rain finally managing to shatter the Silver Combat Technique just as it was about to reach Feng, from whom the black-silver lights never stopped falling down on the Legendary monster.
With its strongest available Combat Technique coupled with all of its tools exercising their full power failing to defeat its enemy, the Blood Saint didn't have anything else special that could take Feng down, the Undead's chances of victory becoming not too great.
That didn't stop the Blood Saint from trying, though, even if the endeavor did not seem feasible at first glance.
But unlike the Blood Saint's Silver Combat Technique, Feng's attack had yet to stop.
More lights continued to bombard the airborne Legendary monster. Although the Blood Saint attempted to defend itself by punching the lights with its spiked knuckles, each of the rain-like strikes greatly reduced its momentum and did high damage to it.
Even if the individual lights didn't contain enough power to threaten the Legendary Undead, they were still very powerful attacks that Feng had thrown out using a top-tier Silver Combat Technique second only to Advanced Silver Combat Techniques, and there were simply too many of them.
After enduring the pummeling of over nearly a thousand black and silver lights, the Blood Saint was embedded into the ground, having lost a large portion of its remaining HP. Feng finally paused his onslaught when the Blood Saint fell, the Stamina and Concentration consumption being extremely high while using powerful Silver Combat Techniques like Maddening Rain.
Falling downwards as well, Feng took a short breather, before changing to using the Silver ranked Sword's Orbit at the Blood Saint, which was still lying on the ground, a galaxy of stars converging on the Legendary monster's location and continuously forcing it to stay down while draining its HP like running water.
But the Blood Saint wasn't a Legendary creature for nothing, and it soon freed itself, pushing aside the galaxy of stars with a couple of punches.
It just so happened that Feng was about to land when his Sword's Orbit was dispersed, the Blood Saint immediately cashing in on the opportunity to land a mean blow on him before Feng could settle on his feet.
Too nimble for the Legendary monster to get such a shot on, Feng made the unexpected move of going directly at the fist, placing his hand on top of the Blood Saint's arm and using it as a pole to twist his body around, arriving in the Undead's face and stabbing the Abyssal Blade into its eye socket.
A damage larger than normal appeared above the Blood Saint's head, but before Feng could make a follow-up attack, the Blood Saint sent its fist barreling towards Feng's abdomen, its strike being much faster than before when the Blood Saint had not used its full strength and speed out of consideration of Feng avoiding the attack and needing to change the direction of its punch.
Feng still responded masterfully by using the Blood Saint's body as if it was part of the terrain, this time grabbing onto its shoulder and spinning above the Legendary monster, landing at its back and forcibly piercing into the skeleton's joints in one fluid motion.
The stab from the Pandemonium Lashblade didn't seem to affect the Blood Saint at first, but Feng suddenly pulled the sword downwards, bringing it further between the Undead's bones, and slashing out.
Its leg was instantly dislocated and the Blood Saint stumbled, nearly falling to a knee.
As Feng jumped backwards and distanced himself from the enraged Legendary monster, abandoning the chance to strike it while the Blood Saint had yet to stabilize following his move, several weapons pierced the ground at the place Feng had just been standing.
More flying weapons quickly came rushing in as the Blood Saint attempted to skewer Feng using its mind to control the weapons, while the Legendary monster steadied itself and prepared to attack as well.
However, Feng had already taken a stance with the two blades gripped tightly in his hands, executing Sword's Orbit at the standard of a Silver Combat Technique.
All of the weapons were instantly launched back in the direction they came from, none of them being able to even approach Feng. The Blood Saint displayed its high combat standards as it parried all of the swordlights from Sword's Orbit, its terrifying strength making Feng's hands tremble with each strike the two of them connected; even nearly having his Combat Technique disrupted due to the force his slashes were continuously colliding with.
After having its leg damaged by Feng, however, the Blood Saint was unable to stand properly, and meeting so many powerful attacks from Feng each second with its hands resulted in the Legendary monster losing its balance.
Stumble after stumble, the Blood Saint was forced to retreat slightly with each moment Feng continued executing Sword's Orbit.
Now it all depended on who could hold out longer, Feng with his Silver ranked Sword's Orbit against the Blood Saint's immense Strength and his own Stamina getting used up, or the Blood Saint with its injured leg that could not support the bracing of so many blows from Feng's Sword's Orbit for an extended period of time.
Over a dozen seconds passed without either giving out, but Feng's Stamina and Concentration were teetering on the verge of running out. He would only be able to maintain his current output for a few more seconds.
Before Feng could fumble, the Blood Saint gave out first, the damage to its leg, coupled with the previous accumulated damage, resulting in the Legendary Undead's defense continuously weakening after each blow until Feng was able to break it apart and land multiple strikes on its injured leg using Sword's Orbit.
Unable to withstand the increasing damage, the Blood Saint's leg broke even further, causing the Legendary Undead to fall over.
Capitalizing on the opportunity without hesitation, Feng increased the output, intent on making this the final act as he consumed all of his Stamina and Concentration in order to take away the rest of the Blood Saint's HP.
Countless stars bombarded the Blood Saint as it attempted to stand on one leg, pushing it further to the brink of death. Even when the Legendary monster attempted to punch away the galaxy of stars, the attacks weren't as well-placed as before, and Feng controlled his strikes to land on its arms from all directions, damaging them and creating holes in the Blood Saint's defense.
It could only put an effort into blocking Feng's attacks at that point as it took the full brunt of Feng's Silver ranked Sword's Orbit.
The two of them once again entered a battle of endurance, Feng trying to kill it as fast as possible while the Blood Saint desperately blocked his attacks and protected its vital parts, hoping that its rapidly depleting HP would outlast Feng's Stamina.
And several seconds later, their competition came to an end.
This time around, it was Feng who couldn't keep going first, his Stamina and Concentration running too low to continue using a Silver Combat Technique.
Meanwhile, the Blood Saint was left with around 8% of its HP and was greatly injured. The Legendary Undead's arms were fairly ruined, the armor being nearly destroyed and its bones broken apart in many places after they withstood Feng's onslaught.
However, it managed to survive through it all. In the next moment, the Blood Saint pointed at Feng, causing the dozens of floating weapons to fly towards him. Their speed had evidently dropped after the damage they and the Blood Saint had taken, but with so many of them coming at him with their current speed, it would be impossible for Feng to dodge them considering his exhausted state.
"Not a bad opportunity to test these out." Sensing his approaching doom, Feng found that he had a great chance to see the effects of his new Fragmented Legendary item, taking out the Blood Refining Crystal and extracting one of the Life Crystals within the blood-red orb.
Upon placing the Life Crystal in his mouth and swallowing it, Feng's fatigue accumulated from battle vanished instantly. Feng could immediately feel his mind clear and his perception of the world recover, even increasing to a level higher than before.
Vigor filled Feng's entire body as his Stamina quickly recovered while his Concentration, aside from recovering at a record pace, was also upgraded to Tier 4 Peak rank.
Just as the flying weapons were about to turn Feng into a porcupine, Feng swung his swords.
All of the weapons were suddenly deflected to the side, leaving Feng unharmed after he executed Sword's Orbit at the standard of an Advanced Bronze Combat Technique.
Although the Life Crystal's recovery capabilities were exceptional and among the best Feng has seen at this level, they weren't enough to support the nonstop continuous usage of a Silver Combat Technique for more than a few seconds, or an Advanced Bronze one for long, before Feng ran out of steam again.
Hence, Feng couldn't go back to spamming the Silver ranked Sword's Orbit at the Blood Saint. Though, the Life Crystal did allow him to remain in the Transcendental Realm, having a Bronze Combat Technique integrated into all of his movements.
A satisfactory item overall. It will be of great use to Feng in his future endeavors.
The Blood Saint grew furious after seeing Feng still alive even after all of this and it having received so much damage, sending the dozens of weapons after him again.
Feng wasted no time, striking away the numerous threats with Sword's Orbit while dashing towards the Legendary monster, which had received too much physical damage to move around at a high enough speed that was required to keep up with Feng and to properly defend itself from his attacks.
Seeing the human quickly approaching, the Blood Saint had its floating weapons attack Feng in an attempt to stop his advance, or at least slow him down, while using a portion of them to create a barricade between itself and Feng.
Unlike when used as a Silver Combat Technique, Sword's Orbit didn't have the power to send the weapons flying away when hitting them if Feng used it as an Advanced Bronze Combat Technique. It could only deflect them and slightly push the weapons to the side, so using Sword's Orbit to pummel away the rest of the Blood Saint's HP while it had so many floating shields around it wasn't feasible.
Feng had no choice but to get close and personal like at the beginning of the fight in order to kill off the Legendary monster.
He didn't get close enough for the Blood Saint to attack him itself, though, since it still possessed immense Strength and the capability to beat him to death with a few punches, stopping four yards away from the Legendary monster and activating the Pandemonium Lashblade's Splitting effect.
The chain sword split apart and slashed at the Blood Saint, maneuvering past some of the floating weapons and smacking the rest in its way aside, before swirling and slicing the Undead's fractured arm which it used to defend itself.
More damage appeared above the Blood Saint's head as Feng continuously landed hits on it with the Pandemonium Lashblade while also using the Demon Sword's large attack range to force away any flying weapons the Legendary monster controlled to block the slashes, occasionally throwing the Blazing Meteor at it as well.
When it was previously in its top condition, the Blood Saint could easily deflect or avoid the Throwing Weapon, but in its current state, no longer was the Blood Saint capable of dealing with the Blazing Meteor every time Feng threw it, and with his aim, the flaming meddle found its mark most of the time, landing on the Blood Saint's vital parts.
By itself the Fragmented Legendary Throwing Weapon already did decent damage to the Blood Saint. Moreover, it came with flame damage and a bit of Dragon Fire thanks to the effects of the Draonic-Voidling Bloodline within Feng, further damaging the Blood Saint.
Its throwing effects triggering from time to time created an additional source of firepower, especially when Dragon Throw activates, greatly increasing the damage dealt and burning the Undead with Dragon Fire.
Soon, the Blood Saint's HP dropped to only 5%, falling to 4%, causing the Legendary monster to grow desperate as it sensed that it was on death's door, abandoning its attack on Feng from all sides and recalling all of its flying weapons. The Blood Saint directed them to go around Feng and behind it, before moving in front of it from a direction Feng could not hit and scatter them.
The Blood Saint created a full barricade between itself and Feng, using the numerous weapons as a giant shield his Pandemonium Lashblade and Blazing Meteor could not get past.
Even when Feng used the Advanced Bronze Sword's Orbit, he only managed to knock away some of them, but more got in the chain sword's trajectory and blocked it as Feng slashed at them, quickly regrouping before he could break through.
With the turtle shell of weapons, the Blood Saint was safe from all of Feng's attacks, with even his Throwing Weapon unable to penetrate the new defensive technique it used from whatever angle Feng threw the Blazing Meteor and gap it went through.
Despite circling the Blood Saint at high speeds multiple times, the Legendary monster perfectly controlled the dozens of weapons to move along with him and block any attack, instantly bringing the damage Feng was dealing to it to zero, allowing the Blood Saint's natural recovery to slowly restore its HP.
Furthermore, with the Vitality of a Tier 5 creature, its arms would regenerate as well with a bit of time.
"Tsk," Feng clicked his tongue as he ran around and attacked from multiple angles using the Pandemonium Lashblade's long range and the Blazing Meteor, even executing Sword's Orbit as a Silver Combat Technique, all with minimal effects. The Blood Saint current method of defending itself was too difficult to get through with the difference in their attributes.
However, upon throwing his flaming needle another time, a change randomly occurred. Suddenly, the Blazing Meteor seemed to split into multiple Throwing Weapons, dozens of phantoms appearing and flying towards the wall of weapons.
This was the Phantom Bombardment effect gained by the Blazing Meteor after Feng promoted it into a Fragmented Legendary Throwing Weapon using the Sacred Stone.
One hundred phantoms of the Blazing Meteor filled the air and landed on the Blood Saint's makeshift shield. With each phantom that collided against the gathered weapons, the wall was shaken and slightly pushed apart, and with a hundred of them landing within split seconds of each other as if Feng had fired them from a machine gun, large gaps quickly appeared in the Blood Saint's barricade.
Feng immediately took advantage of the lucky throw and the opportunity Phantom Bombardment created to pry open the cowering Undead's defense, the Silver ranked Sword's Orbit smashing apart the shield of weapons through the gaps; which it had previously failed to do due to how clustered together the dozens of weapons were.
Seeing Feng get through its defense and in clear sight without anything between them to protect it, the Blood Saint panicked, quickly controlling the flying weapons to move back into position and protect it, but Feng had no plans on letting it fortify itself and camp during the fight until it recovers.
He continued executing Sword's Orbit, albeit as an Advanced Bronze Combat Technique, and kept the Blood Saint from reforming the weapons shield while continuously striking the Legendary Undead with the Demon Sword and the Blazing Meteor.
Quickly taking away as much of the Blood Saint's HP as possible was even more important to Feng now after finding out it could put up such a powerful defense that he most likely would not have been able to get through without triggering Phantom Bombardment. Feng furiously landed hits on the Legendary monster while stopping the flying weapons from gathering into a wall between the two of them, decreasing its health bar to the point he had previously reached and draining it even more.
Unfortunately, the Blood Saint recalled its weapons again and utilized its defensive method by having the weapons approach it from behind and form a shield from a direction Feng could not stop them as they came from the front.
Once more, Feng could not land any attacks on the Blood Saint. The only thing he could do was keep up the pressure on the Legendary monster while madly throwing the Blazing Meteor at it in hopes of triggering another Phantom Bombardment before the Blood Saint could recover too much of its HP.
Possibly due to the effects of Probability Manipulation as Feng was now wishing to trigger the effect, hundreds of phantom Blazing Meteors appeared within less than a dozen throws, battering the wall of weapons and breaking apart the Blood Saint's defense.
Repeating the exchange between them, Feng would land countless hits on the Blood Saint and drain its HP percent at a time as the Blood Saint desperately tried to keep itself alive by forming the shield made up of weapons and employing various other tactics while buying time for its leg and other injuries to recover.
As time passed, in the process of Feng having broken up the wall of weapons several times and the Blood Saint defending itself again and again, even with its HP having dropped to less than 1%, the major injuries on its body had finally regenerated, the Blood Saint's leg now in its normal condition and allowing movement, along with the bones that made up the Legendary Undead's arms which Feng had greatly damaged as he attacked it with the Silver ranked Sword's Orbit.
Simultaneously, though, as Feng attempted to pierce through the barricade it had formed with the Blazing Meteor, Phantom Bombardment triggered. By some miraculous stroke of luck, aside from the effect of creating one hundred phantoms, Dragon Throw was also activated at the same time.
Each of the Blazing Meteors hurling towards the Blood Saint transformed into small dragon heads that smashed into the dozens of weapons, instantly pushing them apart and setting them ablaze in Dragon Fire. Its defense was broken in no time, and multiple of the phantoms even landed on the Legendary monster, doing a large amount of damage.
Feng followed after the Blazing Meteor phantoms, no longer holding back after sensing that the Blood Saint's injuries had mostly recovered and knowing it would be very difficult to kill it in the Undead's regenerated state if he allowed it to regain any HP and go on the offensive.
To begin with, the Blood Saint didn't have much HP remaining, so Feng only needed a final push to kill it. Hence, Feng disregarded the consumption cost and executed Sword's Orbit at the standard of a Silver Combat Technique without stop in order to finish it off.
However, the Blood Saint was incredibly powerful after recovering from its injuries. Moreover, it had already seen Feng use Sword's Orbit multiple times at three different standards, so it had somewhat learned to defend against it much more efficiently and greatly decrease the amount of damage it took from the Combat Technique even at Silver rank.
The Blazing Meteor was no longer a threat to it either with its arms mostly regenerated, the Blood Saint being capable of easily deflecting the Throwing Weapon whenever Feng threw it for an attack.
Having no other option in front of such an enemy, Feng switched back to using both the Pandemonium Lashblade and the Abyssal Blade in unison while engaging the Blood Saint in close-quarters combat. The two of them exchanged blows at a fast speed, Feng landing many attacks and draining its HP with his techniques while the Blood Saint suppressed him with its superior attributes, trying to strike Feng with its spiked knuckles and kill the human; or at least tire him out.
Under normal circumstances, Feng would not dare to face the recovered Blood Saint head-on due to the large difference between them and the dozens of flying weapons attacking him from all sides, along with the Stamina and Concentration expenditure when engaging in such a high-intensity fight using so many high-ranking Combat Techniques while not being in his peak state; even with the recovery abilities of the Life Crystal.
Currently, though, he was very close to killing the Blood Saint, so Feng committed to the final dash and used all his cards in order to drain the bit of its remaining HP.
After nearly half a minute, the Blood Saint's HP finally dropped to zero just as Feng was about to run out of Stamina, the Legendary Undead collapsing into a pile of bones and dropping a pearly-white skull, a large toolbelt, a giant blood-red orb brimming with Life Force, and an ancient golden-rimmed book. At the same time, the dozens of floating weapons fell to the ground as well.
Feng himself slumped down to the ground, finding it difficult to remain standing. The fight had taken everything out of him to finish, very little of his Stamina and Concentration being left following the Blood Saint's death.
Thankfully, he had consumed a Life Crystal, which allowed him to get through the difficult battle, and its effects continued to help in his quick recovery. Without the Life Crystal, Feng would not have been able to defeat a powerful opponent like the Blood Saint, never having accomplished the feat of killing a Legendary monster while at Tier 1.
Though, it couldn't really be said that Feng had the capabilities to kill a Legendary monster just because he managed to defeat the Blood Saint. It was only thanks to the situation in the Blood Refining Passage and the type of monsters inside it that Feng could kill groups of Superior Mythic monsters with relative ease and beat a Legendary monster in such a manner.
When compared to other Tier 5 creatures, aside from its HP being many times smaller, the Blood Saint's defense was greatly inferior since it didn't seem to possess a Mana Body or much Mana or could use it at all. None of the Tier 4 and Tier 5 skills a being like itself should possess had been used either.
If Feng attempted to attack an actual Legendary monster of the same Level out in the wild, he wouldn't do even a third of the damage he had been doing to the Blood Saint. Taking into account that he nearly lost to it and that other Tier 5 monsters would have an HP pool much vaster, Feng would only end up getting curb-stomped if he faced a different Legendary monster.
Nonetheless, the Blood Saint was immensely powerful in its own right, possessing high combat standards and countless Bronze and Advanced Bronze Combat Techniques, along with a few Silver ranked ones.
Taking into account its ultimate move with the combination of so many powerful Combat Techniques executed by the Undead and the flying weapons, the Blood Saint would be more difficult to defeat for other people at higher tiers while in the Blood Refining Passage than an actual Legendary monster.
Thus Feng's triumph over it was an incredible feat.
After resting up for a few minutes, Feng stood up and approached the loot. Each of the three items dropped by the Blood Saint radiated an intense aura that would strike fear into most creatures, but Feng approached them without trouble.
It couldn't be determined which of the three was more powerful at just a glance as the three emitted a nearly equal amount of pressure, the skull and book being particularly extraordinary, but Feng went for the pearly-white skull since it gave him a peculiar feeling.
Picking it up, Feng used the Eyes of Truth to identify the skull.
[Weapon Saint's Remains]
Contains the Weapon Saint's Legacy and holds power from the ancient era. If one inherits this Legacy, one will become capable of using all weapons of combat and shall be unmatchable in battle. In order to activate the Legacy stored within and take on its trial, the power of six Tier 4 begins all belonging to different classes among the Warrior and Weapon Specialist categories is required.
Class restriction: Non-magical classes
To Feng's surprise, one of the Blood Saint's drops was a Legacy Item. Moreover, it was one belonging to the Weapon Saint Legacy, one of his God's Domain's Ten Great Saint Legacies.
He hadn't expected that just after obtaining the Cosmic Saint Legacy, he'd find another of the ten legendary Peak Legacies; much less in a place like this.
Unlike the rest of the Ten Great Saint Legacies that he had obtained, Feng only knew about the Weapon Saint Legacy through Sharlyn when she told him about the strongest Legacies belonging to their God's Domain, and had never seen it in action.
The information he had on the Legacy was very limited as well, knowing practically nothing except its name and status. One thing Sharlyn did tell him was that, apparently, the Weapon Saint had been capable of wielding any weapon in God's Domain at an extreme level of proficiency, and that anyone who inherited the Weapon Saint's Legacy would become able to do the same.
Now encountering the Legacy in person, Feng confirmed her words to be true, and it amazed him.
Unlike the Cosmic Saint Legacy which could be accepted by any non-melee class, the Weapon Saint Legacy was the exact opposite, but unlike the Orbiting Star Striker that came with the Legacy and was an independent unique weapon, the perk of being a Weapon Saint is having the option to use any weapon they want at any time; safe for staffs, which are used by magical classes.
It naturally provided an enormous advantage in fights since switching between weapons would allow one to adapt to any situation and counter anybody's fighting style, similar to what the Blood Saint was doing while fighting Feng.
Though, that would require a player to be proficient with all of the weapons they chose to use, in order for that type of style to be effective. Otherwise, switching to using a weapon not suitable for them or one they weren't good at wielding would only decrease their combat power and weaken the player.
This trait made it difficult for Feng to utilize the Weapon Saint Legacy with maximum efficiency as players always choose the weapon best for them and don't practice with any other, or at most two types of weapons depending on the best equipment they have.
Although one could also simply use one weapon after accepting the Weapon Saint Legacy and just take advantage of its power as an Advanced Peak Legacy for creating a better foundation, that would fail to utilize all of the Legacy's potential, and would frankly be a waste.
Hence, Feng decided to leave the Weapon Saint Legacy aside from now until he found someone suitable for it.
In any case, activating the Weapon Saint Legacy would also be extremely difficult since Feng couldn't simply have someone like Sharlyn or Celestina handle the requirements by themselves as he had done for the Blade Saint Leagcy and Cosmic Saint Legacy since it wasn't simply power that was needed to activate it, but the beings necessary for using the Weapon Saint Legacy were specifically needed to all be different classes, and there needed to be six of them.
Handling the activation of such a Legacy Item would definitely require a lot of time and preparation.
He then moved on to the large toolbelt left behind by the Blood Saint.
The moment Feng placed his hands on the item, all of the weapons scattered across the Blood Refining Passage's floor suddenly moved, flying towards the toolbelt as if attracted by some gravitational force. They all entered the toolbelt upon making contact, becoming a miniaturized version that appeared on the hanging slots on the belt's side.
Within a few seconds, all of the weapons were absorbed by the toolbelt, with even the spiked knuckles on the Blood Saint's corpse flying off and entering the belt. Quite perplexed and curious, Feng inspected the toolbelt.

Holds the Legacy Weapons belonging to the Weapon Saint. When all the weapons are collected and on the Arsenal Harness, its true power can be revealed. Weapons gathered (72/73)
The potential of a Weapon Saint possessing this Legacy Tool was incredible, even if they couldn't use all of the weapons within the toolbelt. Just the Passive Skills of the Arsenal Harness were enough to make it as valuable as a Legendary Item if enough of the Weapon Saint's Legacy Weapons were gathered; not to mention that it was an item that didn't take up any equipment slots.
Gathering the weapons wasn't an issue for Feng, though, since the Blood Saint had been in possession of nearly all of them, and they all entered the Arsenal Harness upon Feng appraising it. Obtaining the toolbelt made Feng reevaluate how he'd handle the Weapon Saint Legacy, since he could still give it to someone who didn't have the capabilities to utilize its full potential and create a powerhouse with the Legacy as long as the player equipped the Arsenal Harness.
While brooding over the matter, Feng suddenly discovered that the weapons inside the Arsenal Harness weren't locked inside, meaning he could still take them out of the toolbelt. Upon checking out the weapons and seeing their information, Feng's jaw nearly dropped to the floor.
"This is- the Versatile Gods Weapon Set!" His surprise could be clearly seen on Feng's face as he looked at the dozens of weapons inside the Arsenal Harness.
One of the Six Great Legendary Weapon Sets of his God's Domain, the Versatile Gods Set, had randomly appeared before Feng, and with so many of the weapons belonging to the Set as well.
