Shut Up Dragon! I Don't Want To Have Children With You Anymore

Chapter 62: Chapter 62: Falling Petals, A Stream & Beyond

Luna obediently nodded her head, hopped off the bed, and said, "Goodbye, Daddy! Take good care of Mommy, okay?"

"Mm, Daddy will take very~ good~ care of Mommy, don't you worry, sweetie. Now go to bed."

"Okay~"

Luna skipped out of the room.

As soon as the door clicked shut, Rossweise swung a weak kick toward Leon's face.

But her body was too frail, and her movements were slow. Leon easily caught her foot.

"I've had plenty of soup tonight, my dear. No need to serve me dragon claws again."

Rossweise retracted her foot and coldly asked, "What were you doing in the back mountain?"

"Curious?"

"Speak."

Leon stood up, walked to the bedside, and scooped Rossweise up in a bridal carry.

"What are you doing?" she asked, alarmed.

"Didn't you want to know what I was doing in the back mountain? I'll take you to see for yourself."

———

The night was deep, and the evening breeze was cool.

Leon carried Rossweise out of the Silver Dragon Sanctuary's backyard and headed straight for the back mountain.

Rossweise recognized the path.

"You're taking me to the sakura forest?"

Leon nodded silently.

"What for?"

"From there, you can overlook the entire Silver Dragon Sanctuary."

Rossweise frowned slightly, not fully understanding his intentions.

Why did he want to take her there to look at the Sanctuary? Did it have some special meaning?

Still confused, she remained silent as they arrived at the sakura forest.

Leon stopped beneath one of the larger sakura tres, its trunk sturdy and imposing. He turned around and gestured toward the Silver Dragon Sanctuary in the distance.

"There, look. That's your Sanctuary."

From this height, the entire Silver Dragon Sanctuary was visible. The grand and ancient castle stood proudly in the mountains, illuminated and serene, like a sanctuary cut off from the world.

"What are you trying to do?" Rossweise asked.

"Do you remember a month ago, my first escape attempt?"

Rossweise's pupils quivered.

Of course, she remembered Leon's first escape attempt.

When she caught him, she had dragged him to a mountaintop tree from where the empire was clearly visible and… conducted a ritual of humiliation.

Could it be—

"Leon, you're not planning to—"

"It seems you've figured it out, Your Majesty," Leon said, a sly smile playing on his lips. "Yes, what's yours is mine. And don't think revenge and theatrics are exclusive to dragons. We humans are quite capable of both."

Rossweise leaned against him, her arms looped around his neck, fingers clutching his collar. "Leon, in this regard, we're really alike, aren't we?"

Leon chuckled. "It's like they say: couples grow to resemble each other, my dear wife."

"Hmph. But how do you plan to hoist me up there? Dragon bones are denser than human ones. Carrying me here must've already taken quite a toll on you."

"Who said anything about climbing trees?" Leon said. "Rossweise, let me be clear—I'm not just reenacting what you did. I'm going to surpass it."

Rossweise narrowed her eyes. "Leon..."

Leon ignored her, positioning her to face the sakura tree.

"Stay put."

Rossweise planted her hands on the trunk and tried to turn around in defiance.

"Leon, you—AH!—"

Before she could finish her sentence, Leon firmly held her by the nape, forcing her to face the Silver Dragon Sanctuary below.

Rossweise's heart sank. She knew what was coming.

Yet, knowing didn't diminish the indignation. Instead, it made her resist even more fiercely.

Leon began his carefully orchestrated ritual of revenge, his every action a mirror of what she had once done to him.

Under the moonlit sky, dragon markings shimmered faintly. The glow from the Sanctuary below reflected in Rossweise's silver eyes.

"Look, Rossweise," Leon whispered, his tone laced with mockery. "Your Sanctuary is right there, your pride and glory."

"Don't blink, my dear. Keep your eyes on it. Everything you hold dear stems from that Sanctuary."

"And yet... tell me, what are we doing right now?"

Words she had once used to humiliate him now came back to haunt her, each syllable dripping with irony.

"You're nothing more than a defeated dragon being brought low by a mere human," he continued.

Heat flushed her cheeks, her face burning with a mixture of shame and frustration.

Clinging to the rough bark of the tree, Rossweise tried to focus on the faint stings in her palms, hoping to drown out the whirlwind of emotions within her.

She should be furious.

And yet… why did his words make her feel something else entirely?

It was maddening.

Her pride wouldn't let her voice the thoughts swirling in her mind.

So she let Leon lead, her body betraying her will and succumbing to the moment.

As they reached a crescendo, sakura petals drifted down, covering her silver hair and shoulders.

Her mind battled against her instincts, but her body refused to fight.

———

When it was over, Rossweise leaned against the tree, her breath uneven. Her silver hair clung to her damp face, and beads of sweat rolled down her cheeks and collarbone.

Her flushed face betrayed her exhaustion, her slender frame slumping against the sakura tree.

Leon, however, seemed far from finished.

Crouching before her, he gently tilted her chin upward, brushing aside her sweat-dampened hair.

"You've worked hard, my dear wife," he said with a smirk.

Rossweise swatted his hand away, glaring at him. "Is that all? I thought you had more in store."

"Of course, it's not over. I told you—I'll make it worth your while."

"Hmph. Do your worst tonight, Leon. You won't get another chance after this."

"Spare me the threats, Rossweise. I live for the present," Leon replied, his voice dripping with amusement.

For a moment, his sharp words faltered as he looked at her—this fragile yet defiant dragon queen before him.

His smirk softened. "You're beautiful like this, like a porcelain doll. Makes revenge all the sweeter."

Rossweise turned her head away. "I'm cold."

"What?"

"I said I'm cold."

She curled up, wrapping her tail around her waist. The delicate blush on her pale skin made her look unexpectedly vulnerable.

Leon chuckled, removing his coat and draping it over her shoulders before scooping her up once more.

"Now, where to?" Rossweise asked, her voice tinged with weariness.

"To the stream," Leon replied.

———

By the gentle brook, cicadas sang, and the cool breeze carried the scent of fresh water.

But Rossweise knew Leon wasn't there to admire the scenery.

"So, does this place hold some special meaning too?" she asked.

"This is your favorite spot, isn't it?"

"And?"

"Then, I'll make sure it's always tied to memories of me," Leon said.

With that, the night carried on, and the stars bore witness to their second round of revenge and reconciliation.
