Starsea Fleet: Age of the Lord

Chapter 168: Chapter 168: Returning the Favor

Unbeknownst to Feng Mo, this T5-class enslavement chip came from the Spark System, granting it far more stability than the Federation's standard slave chips. This, along with his T4 Black Star combat armor, gave him the confidence to approach the enormous serpent-like cosmic beast. As Feng Mo drew near, the creature didn't react aggressively, instead locking its large eyes on him, filled with a peculiar familiarity. The serpent lowered its massive head, almost half the size of a building, cautiously leaning in as if recognizing its new master. Feng Mo smiled, pleased with the performance of Spark System's products, always high quality.

Placing his hand against the creature's scales, Feng Mo closed his eyes, and visions filled his mind—fragments of the creature's memories. He saw that the beast had hatched in a vast laboratory, raised and controlled there until its size had grown to such an extent that it was transferred to a planet's surface. The intense memories flooded Feng Mo's mind, leaving him physically drained and sweating.

When he finished processing the images, he patted the beast's head and said, "This is your new home now. Feel free to roam, but avoid the spaceport, the Devouring Tree, the Bloodvine, and the underground labs."

Turning to Ai Er, he issued new orders, "Replenish the Storm Fleet's ammunition and supplies. Only ten ships will be needed for this mission—I'll send the coordinates shortly."

Through the beast's memories, Feng Mo learned about the base from which it had been released, as well as the location of nearby systems north of the Beast Roar System. Now that he knew the whereabouts of a New Humanity Church base, he saw it only fitting to return the favor. After all, they had repeatedly harassed him; it was time to show them that the Storm Kingdom was not one to be trifled with.

Returning to the Wind God, Feng Mo input the coordinates into the main control console. An hour and a half later, after supplies were replenished, the fleet was ready. Their destination was a star system west of the Beast Roar System.

The Storm Fleet didn't immediately activate the synchronized warp mode. Instead, it first traveled to the interstellar space around the Beast Roar System, where for years, a few ships had lingered, monitoring every move in the system. Even the previous Church leader hadn't been aware of these covert observers. Just four T4 ships, but they had been persistent.

"Radar detects four unidentified ships ahead. Recommendation: destroy. Awaiting orders!"

The electronic alert echoed, indicating the four T4 ships were within Wind God's radar range, though they had yet to detect the Storm Fleet.

"Charge the main cannon and destroy them," Feng Mo ordered, unfazed by who might have deployed them. This was just the appetizer.

Four laser blasts pierced the four T4-class ships, tearing through shields and hulls alike. The resulting explosions registered as bright flares on the radar—a brief fireworks display in the void.

After navigating through interstellar space, the fleet reached a small asteroid field, eerily similar to a previously traversed one. Both had a dim, lifeless hue, with the entire system devoid of energy. Feng Mo wondered if these systems had suffered insectoid invasions. If true, it was a potential threat to the Storm Kingdom.

On the other side of the asteroid field lay their target: the Lizard System, home to a new species Feng Mo classified as lizard-kin, a type of half-beast people. A mid-sized star system, the Lizard System was ruled entirely by the Lizardmen, a technologically advanced species. Although they had no T5 ships, their quasi-T5 ships were highly prevalent.

The New Humanity Church's outpost was located on a small asteroid on the system's outskirts. Like the hidden bases within the Federation, this asteroid was hollowed out and served as a large laboratory, specializing in grafting animal genes onto human subjects.

When the Storm Fleet arrived, alarms blared within the Church's outpost.

"Alert! Radar detects an approaching fleet. Analysis complete: two T5 ships, two quasi-T5 ships, two T4 bio-ships."

The Church's radar missed the four T4 Scorpions, which Feng Mo had ordered into stealth mode to scout the surroundings—caution was necessary since this was not his territory.

With the Church base now within Wind God's range, Feng Mo issued the attack orders.

"Wind God, prepare T5 Cluster Star Annihilator Cannon. Hurricane, prepare quasi-T5 Cluster Star Annihilator Cannon."

Just in case one blast wouldn't suffice to obliterate the asteroid, Feng Mo instructed the Hurricane's cannon to charge as well. This asteroid was much larger than the one he had previously obliterated with Gu Jun.

At Feng Mo's command, the annihilator cannons on both the Wind God and Hurricane began to glow. Streams of light converged, forming enormous, blinding spheres of orange and brown energy at the ships' prows.

"Report: Wind God and Hurricane cannons fully charged, awaiting instructions!" Han Peipei's voice echoed in the command center.

"Fire!"

With Feng Mo's command, two beams, one orange and one brown, streaked out along a calculated trajectory, smashing into the asteroid. The immense power of the cannons left the asteroid resembling a giant hoop, hollowed out and charred black.

Then, in the hollowed-out center, compressed energy ignited a secondary explosion. The asteroid, only fifty kilometers in diameter, couldn't withstand the blast and disintegrated into fragments.

Feng Mo was thoroughly impressed with the T5 Cluster Star Annihilator Cannon's power. It truly lived up to its reputation as the Federation's mightiest weapon.

Unbeknownst to Feng Mo, every move of the Storm Fleet was being monitored. His destruction of the asteroid was recorded and transmitted back in real-time, the work done with such precision that even T5 radar couldn't detect it.

Meanwhile, on the main planet of the Lizard System, within a luxurious palace, a floating mechanical screen displayed the footage of Feng Mo's double-barreled star obliteration.

Two figures were present in the palace. One appeared to have a human body with a mechanical head, while the other resembled a humanoid covered with life

like synthetic skin, indistinguishable from a true human.
