Chapter 1: Chapter 1: The First Encounter
Canada, Ottawa.
At midnight, in a deserted alley devoid of people and sounds, a blonde girl dressed in very light clothing was running for her life with all her strength.
"Hoo! Hoo! Hoo!"
She gasped for breath, her hair damp with sweat, sticking to her forehead. But she had no time to care about it, focusing only on running forward, faster and faster!
She was escaping—escaping from the terrifying thing chasing her!
The sound of her high-heeled boots hitting the ground echoed lightly, but behind her, the "pat-pat" of much heavier footsteps echoed in a terrifying rhythm.
The footsteps were neither hurried nor slow, maintaining a steady pace, always keeping an appropriate distance behind her—close enough to be within sight, yet not so close as to snuff out her hope of escape. It was as if the hunter was waiting for the prey to tire, stalking her with a calm, obsessive enjoyment, like a hyena savouring the hunt.
"Haah, haah, haah... how..."
Suddenly, her running came to a halt. Her legs buckled, and she collapsed to the ground, utterly drained of strength. Despair appeared on her face.
——In front of her stood a towering and thick wall, blocking her path. To the right and left, more walls loomed, the same!
Surrounded on three sides by high walls, even if she jumped, she couldn't reach the top.
Trapped with nowhere to run, the only path left was being slowly cornered by the malevolent creature creeping closer step by step! She had nowhere to escape! This was a dead-end alley!
But even in the direst of situations, there was always a glimmer of hope. The alley appeared to be under construction—near her feet lay several steel rods covered with tarpaulins.
"!"
A spark of hope ignited in the girl's eyes. She didn't know where she found the strength, but she reached out, pulling back the tarpaulin and grabbing hold of a steel pipe as thick as an infant's arm.
"Pat!"
Just then, the footsteps of her pursuer grew louder, unmistakably close behind her.
"Don't come any closer... don't come any closer..."
Upon hearing the voice coming from behind, the girl gasped in fear, slowly turning her head and holding the iron pipe out in front of her, trying to scare the pursuer off.
"Pat! Pat! Pat!"
The footsteps approached, and the girl's eyes widened in panic. Finally, she saw the demon chasing her in the darkness.
At first glance, he appeared to be an ordinary man in a sports jacket.
However, his limbs and head were covered with swollen, dark blue veins, his muscles unnaturally bulging, and his tongue, dripping with saliva, hung out like a hunting dog's, almost reaching his chin. His tongue flicked out like a snake's tongue, his eyes bloodshot and glowing red. The terrifying man laughed an eerie, chilling laugh.
"Ke-ke-ke, little sister, the game of hide-and-seek is over!"
He stretched out his drooling, long tongue, and took another step forward with a "pat" sound.
"Please, no...! If you come any closer, I won't hold back!" the girl screamed, wildly swinging the steel pipe in her hands, trying to make him stop.
"Ke-ke, don't be afraid. I won't hurt you, little one."
The man spoke with a surprisingly gentle tone, yet it was laced with an unmistakable madness and satisfaction. "Uncle just wants to love you a little bit, don't be afraid!"
"Ke-ke!"
As he spoke, the man seemed to caress the girl with his eyes, staring at her damp neck and the delicate thighs exposed beneath her skirt. He licked his lips with his long, disgusting tongue.
"Let me just taste you for a moment—your tender skin... ah~! I can't take it anymore!!" The man shouted as he pounced toward his prey.
"Ahhh~~~!"
The girl screamed loudly, no longer bothering to swing the iron pipe. She curled into a defensive position, hugging her head, completely giving up on resistance.
"Ha ha ha ha, Uncle's coming... wuuu..."
The man's frenzied laughter abruptly stopped, turning into a scream of intense pain as his body slammed into the nearby wall!
"Boom!"
The loud crash echoed through the alley. The man, who had been laughing just moments before, was now sliding slowly down the wall, his body pressed against it. The scene was almost comically exaggerated, like something out of an anime.
"You idiot, think you can take advantage of a girl like that? What did you eat to grow up, huh?!"
A youthful voice suddenly rang out in the alley. Although it was unexpected, it was like a lifeline to the girl, who stopped screaming and slowly opened her eyes. She saw a handsome blonde boy standing next to her, while the horrifying man was now crumpled in the corner, seemingly unconscious.
"Waah!"
It was as if she had found a relative; the girl rushed into the boy's arms, crying uncontrollably.
Indeed, first impressions were crucial. Compared to the creepy, lecherous man, the handsome boy immediately won the girl's trust.
The boy patted her shoulder impatiently, saying, "Alright, alright, stop crying! It's just some pervert, what's there to be afraid of? Women are so dramatic."
That's right. You heard it correctly. The boy's expression was one of unmistakable annoyance. If the girl hadn't been clinging to him so tightly, he would have pushed her away by now.
"Ugh, damn it, you bastard! I'm going to kill you, kill you!"
The man, who had been slumped in the corner, shook his head and slowly got back up. Growling, he turned around, his bloodshot eyes fixed on the boy and the girl.
"Hmm? Interesting!"
Seeing the man rise, the boy couldn't help but be surprised. A normal person would be out for at least ten days after taking that hit. But this man's body was much stronger than the average person's!
"Move aside!"
Impatiently, the boy pushed the girl behind him, standing alone against the man. The girl didn't resist, quietly watching the scene unfold, her eyes sneaking glances toward the alley's exit.
"I'm going to kill you! Kill you! Kill you!"
The man repeated the same words, his eyes filled with the ferocity of a wounded wolf. He looked more like a wolf in human skin than a man.
"Kill me?"
The boy chuckled disdainfully, looking at the man. "Don't bother dreaming. If you can even scratch a single hair on me, I'll let you go free!"
"Aaaaahhhh, die!!!"
As if triggered by a sudden burst of rage, the man's body expanded and he lunged at the boy with incredible speed, his right fist cutting through the air with a "whoosh!"
"You've got some strength, but still, too weak!"
The boy shook his head lightly, stepping back a step to avoid the punch. Before the man could react, the boy straightened his leg and kicked him square in the chest, sending him flying.
"Boom!"
The man crashed into the wall and slowly got up. After catching his breath, he suddenly charged again, faster and stronger than before.
"Impressive, you can increase your strength?"
The boy sounded surprised, but the result was the same: with another effortless kick, the man was sent flying again.
"Boom!"
This time, the impact was so powerful that the man was unable to rise again. He glared at the boy with eyes full of rage, his throat growling like a wounded beast.
"Ahhh~~~!"
Suddenly, the girl screamed and ran off, leaving the boy in complete confusion. "What the hell? I save you, and you don't even say thanks? Are all Canadians this rude?"
Muttering to himself, the boy turned back to the man on the ground. "Considering you still have the guts to challenge me, I'll spare your life. Congratulations, you get to live."
"Ha ha ha ha..."
Laughing to himself, the boy put his hands in his pockets and walked out of the alley, ignoring the hateful gaze of the man glaring at his back.
