The Airship

Episode 1, Chapter 2: Life Aboard the Ship Begins!

It's a beautiful day, the ship is flying through a nice lofty gust under the clear blue sky, the systems are running smoothly, and all the crew members are going about their days as they have always thought it being on a giant flying airship.... Other than Corry, they really haven't thought about it at all-

Corry sits in the control bay, watching the world pass by outside. He smiles as he sits in the chair, leaning back and sighing in content.

"I love this... This is as amazing as I thought it would be!! We can go anywhere we want in this thing, and it's so leisurely to just watch it all in this comfy little spot... I could almost fall right asleep in this spot!" Corry says.

He closes his eyes for a bit before opening them and thinking out loud again.

"I wonder how Noland and Chris are adapting to this... I'm sure Noland is doing fine, but I really hope Chris is getting along well, he seemed really disappointed when he found out we weren't searching for his guys..." He says in a soft tone.

Meanwhile with Noland, he was sitting in the lab working on some technology, he adjusts his glasses as he tampers with a small mechanical gun.

"Corry didn't really stock this thing with a lot of supplies... Gosh, I really want to stop somewhere to get some metal or something. I can make my own parts for the most of it, but I can't do that if I don't even have the material for it..." Noland says disappointingly.

He sets the device down and lets his arms dangle off the sides of his chair, sighing loudly.

"This is kind of boring if I can't even make my own technology right now... I guess I should go tell Corry my predicament, he'll listen to me, and I'm sure he'll find somewhere close where we can get some supplies." Noland states.

He gets up and stretches before walking out of the laboratory and towards the elevator to the control bay.

Chris was laying against a wall in the cargo bay, he was still somewhat butt hurt that Corey and Noland weren't listening to him.

"Damn... What the hell is their problem? Don't they realize how big the possibilities are in this ship?? This aircraft was literally one of their own weapons..." Chris hisses under his breath.

He pulls out the evidence photos again and looks through them. One of the photos was of a large group of airships lined up next to each other, they looked like the ship that he was on right now, but they were a lot bigger.

"They're planning something, these ships look like they're a lot better than this one... which means they must be upgrading. They're planning another attack, we can't let that happen!!" Chris shouts to himself, his voice echoing through the cargo bay before slapping his hands to his face.

"Ah, who am I kidding... The other two will never comply, even if they saw it for themselves..." Chris says dejectedly.

Back to the control bay, Corry is still relaxing in the pilot's chair before the elevator door opens at the back of the room, Noland coming out. Corry hears the sound and turns around, smiling.

"Yo Noland!! How are you enjoying yourself? You having fun??" Corry asks happily.

Noland chuckles lightly before saying "Yeah... but I will admit, I'm getting kind of bored. You didn't think to stock up on supplies before taking off?"

The two just lock eyes with each other before Corry's eyes drift to the left.

"......No-" He mumbles nervously.

Noland facepalms and scratches his head.

"Come on Corry, can you find a good place to stop and get materials? Maybe a place that isn't in use anymore?" Noland asks.

Corry starts to think for a bit.

"Hmmm.... A place that isn't in use anymore.... Ok, I'm sure I can find something like that!! Maybe a warehouse or something, there's tons of old warehouses left over from the Chaos War that the enemy set up, I'm sure we can find a lot of materials there!!" Corry chimes.

Noland smiles and nods.

"So where's the closest place?" He asks.

Corry turns back around and goes to his computer, scanning the surrounding area, it pings for a little bit before beeping.

"Aha, we can get to one in about 30 minutes time, easy as that!!" Corry exclaims.

Noland chuckles and is about to speak up again before the elevator door opens again. The person who walks out is none other than Christopher, he was holding a sword.

"Chris- is that a sword? Where did you get that-!?" Noland shouts in a surprised tone.

"Ohhhhhh, hey, you found my sword!! Yeah, I kept it in the cargo bay since I didn't really think I would need it!" Corry says.

Chris smirks and tosses the blade to Corry, who catches it.

"So what you're saying is, you've been training with a sword." Chris says smugly.

Corry tilts his head curiously at Chris.

"Ummm.... Yeah, why?" Corry asks, seemingly confused.

"Spar with me." Chris says out of the blue.

Noland looks taken aback while Corry looks only slightly surprised.

"Y-You want to spar with him-!? We haven't even been on the ship this long and you want to fight someone-!?" Noland shouts out, unamused by Chris's proposal.

Once the wave of surprise passes over, Corry smiles and responds.

"You know what? Fine, we'll spar!!"

"Good, I was about to say you better at least let me train on this hunk of metal!!" Chris shouts.

"Let me show you to the training room!!" Corry says, running to the elevator, to which Chris follows.

"Come on... Y-You guys aren't really gonna fight, right-!?" Noland says disapprovingly.

"It's a friendly match!! And besides, we can use this to pass the time before we arrive at the warehouse!!" Corry says.

Noland tries to object, but is at a loss for words, so he just crosses his arms and follows them into the elevator, going down. When the elevator arrives at the ground level of the ship, Corry leads the two of them through the halls before showing up in a big room with training dummies, this was clearly a workout room. Chris walks to the other side of the room, taking off his jacket.

"You better not hold back, because I won't hold back for you Corry." Chris states, grinning.

"I never intended on it, let's have us a good fair fight!" Corry replies.

Noland, without anything else to do or say, just sighs.

"Guess I'll be the referee..." He says, walking to the side.

"Start the battle in three..." Noland begins.

Chris gets into a battle stance, spreading his feet.

"Two..."

Corry unsheathes his blade and gets into a ready stance.

"One!"

Chris dashes out towards Corry, running across the room swiftly before throwing a punch at Corry's head. Corry swiftly ducks under the oncoming attack and jumps back up, headbutting Chris's chin. Chris grunts as he staggers backward from Corry's headbutt before throwing his leg out, kicking Corry in the gut. Corry skids backwards, rubbing his gut.

"Wow... That actually really hurt!!" Corry states excitedly.

Chris chuckles, rubbing his chin.

"Don't think you were the only one training over the years." He replies.

Corry resumes the battle by jumping up into the air and slashing his blade down towards Chris. Chris catches the blade in his hands, accidently nicking his hands on it, a bit of blood running down.

"Ack-!! That's gonna hurt a bit-!" Chris yelps.

Corry gasps as Chris starts to spin him around by the sword before launching him at the wall. Corry flips through the air before landing on his feet and pushing himself off the wall towards Chris. Chris smirks and runs at Corry, clenching his fist and reeling it back. Corry smiles, right when he's about to hit Chris, he spins to the side, skidding onto the floor. He jams his sword into the floor to spin around and jam his leg into Chris's spine, knocking him flat on his face.

"Ah, I gotcha on the floor!! See? I can fight!!" Corry chuckles.

Chris climbs back to his feet, brushing his pants off.

"Oh don't worry, that won't happen again!! When it happens next time, it'll be me to you, heh!" Chris remarks.

"Let's see for ourselves then!!!" Corry shouts, dashing at Chris.

Chris responds in kind and runs at Corry as well, reeling his fist back again. As soon as their attacks are about to clash... Noland runs in between them.

"Stop the fi-!!" He begins, before getting punched on one side and headbutted on the other, toppling to the floor.

"NOLAND, WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING, ASSHAT-!?" Chris shouts angrily.

Corry gasps and runs to his side.

"Oh shoot, are you ok-!? I didn't mean to hit you-!! What did you want to tell us-???" Corry says worriedly.

"I just wanted to tell you that we're pulling up on our location... That warehouse thing..." Noland groans.

Corry smiles brightly and turns to Chris.

"Alright, our first adventure!! We'll get some materials so that we can start making some cool technology!! Let's put this fight on hold for now, ok Chris?" Corry says.

Chris grunts and crosses his arms, walking back over to his jacket.

"Hmph... Whatever..." He mumbles.

Corry jumps excitedly and leaves the room, Chris tailing behind him with a cold glare. Noland pulls himself up off of the ground and follows from far behind, holding a hand up to one of his cheeks. The three boys walk to the entryway and stand there before they feel the ship land and the entryway opens. Outside was an old and derelict warehouse that looked like it hadn't been used in centuries.

"...Really? That's the dump you guys wanted to go to?" Chris asks.

"Yeah, Corry told me that a lot of these supposedly sprouted up during the Chaos War and they haven't been used since, so we came to get some raw metal materials." Noland explains.

"Fine, let's just make this quick..." Chris grumbles.

Corry runs towards the warehouse, filled to the brim with a limitless excitement that would shatter any introvert to pieces, while Noland and Chris tail behind him at their own pace. When they all eventually get to the warehouse, Corry opens the door and walks in, the others following behind him. It was dark, and it smelled awfully rancid in the main room.

"Sheesh... What's that smell?" Chris asks in a disgusted tone.

"Hmm... Is there a switch around here somewhere?" Corry asks, feeling around the wall before getting something.

"Ah, here we are!" Corry exclaims as he flips the switch. The lights power on, but the sight ahead catches all three of them off guard... There were old rusty robots surrounded by mounds of skeletons and rotting corpses.

"What... the hell... happened here-!?" Chris asks...
