Chapter 10: Chapter 10
Tiamat stood in front of Ddraig, fearing the power of Ddraig. What was this monster in front of him? This feeling was even more intimidating than him during the Great War.
'This body won't be able to take much. Issei may have grown greatly, but with his draconic body and more endurance, he should be able to handle some of my power for a brief time. However, how powerful Tiamat is, I'll have to use a great amount of power to end this. One shot is all that I need!' Ddraig thought while inspecting his hands, opening and closing them. He hated taking a human form, it took away his scales, and his durability, for the ability of more combat capabilities.
Tiamat was the first to move. 'Seeing how she is standing, she will aim for a right hook immediately to try and end the fight as quickly as possible.' She rushed straight at Ddraig, missing barely. Ddraig still needed to wait. He needed to wait for the perfect moment. He needed her to waste more of her powers to allow him to land a devastating counterpunch. He has only one chance to end this.
As Tiamat's powerful blow narrowly dodged Ddraig's face, he watched as the trees behind him were blown to the unknown. He knew that Tiamat was formidable with his current limitations, but he also understood the strategy required to defeat her. With his vast experience and knowledge gained from centuries of battles, Ddraig had honed his senses to anticipate the precise moment when his opponent's guard would falter.
Tiamat, sensing an advantage, pressed on relentlessly. She unleashed a barrage of devastating attacks, each one shaking the ground and causing shockwaves to ripple through the battlefield. 'Left... Now a faint into a right hook which leads right into a roundhouse kick... Here it comes, uppercut. She's starting to get mad.' Ddraig skillfully dodged and parried, his movements fluid and precise. After thousands of years, of watching humans fight, watching professional fighters through the Boosted Gear, and even during his life on the surface, he was easily able to pick apart what Tiamat would do. He let Tiamat believe that she was overpowering him, drawing her deeper into the fight, and gradually wearing her down. In reality, Ddraig was disappointed to think that Tiamat was this predictable to fight.
As the battle raged on, Ddraig's mind calculated every move, every strike, and every opportunity that would lead to his ultimate victory. He needed Tiamat to expend more of her immense power, exhaust her energy, and expose a critical opening.
With each passing moment, Tiamat's attacks became more furious but less controlled. She unleashed destructive torrents of energy, causing the very air to crackle with power. Ddraig endured, his body bruised and battered, but his resolve unwavering. He knew that this was the pivotal moment he had been waiting for.
Finally, the opportunity presented itself. Tiamat unleashed a cataclysmic blast, a concentrated beam of raw energy that threatened to annihilate everything in its path. 'Perfect, I'll have to take the attack head-on.'
Once the beam of magical energy reached Ddraig, he used his mastery over his aura to create a shield of domination in a split-second, using most of the power from whatever he had in the Boosted Gear, where his power was sealed in. The shield perfectly countered the blast, taking it head-on and being torn to shreds, but the impact of the shield breaking nearly destroyed Issei's body. However, this left Ddraig with the perfect opportunity. This wasn't Issei who couldn't handle the damage to his body without major fatigue, this was Ddraig, a dragon born to take damage and laugh through it.
"Transfer!"
Putting in all his power, his entire soul was put into this attack. Forming a small sword, Ddraig watched through the smoke of Tiamat smiling and lowering her guard. Time has made Tiamat sloppy. There was no need for her to fight against formidable foes since the Great War. In an instant...
Ddraig appeared right in front of Tiamat with his hands holding her heart. Tiamat widened her eyes while blood spewed out of her mouth. "How?"
In front of her was a bloody Ddraig, bruises, burns, cuts, scratches, anything that could be inflicted on his body, he had it. Even Tiamat's blood was on his body, leaving him simply smirking. "Well, looks like my time has come." In that instant, Ddraig's soul went back into the Boosted Gear, and the gear turned off. "I'll see you again, Partner. Forgive me for acting greedy."
With that, Issei's body fell to the ground creating a huge thud sound. Ddraig had fallen into a deep state of slumber. His soul was weakened to the point that the Boosted Gear couldn't sustain itself.
Tiamat on the other hand looked down to see her heart smashed into nothing but blood. She slowly moved her hand to where her heart was and started crying. All her years of fighting, living, and joy had brought her to this moment. She didn't want to die. Looking down at Issei's body, she had to at least kill him. However, she couldn't move as the pain that she felt was massive.
The problem with the human body form of a dragon was that the scales were removed. It left them far more vulnerable, but in Losing that, they gained more flexibility, agility, and combat capabilities. Tiamat thought that she could use this to dodge whatever devastating attack Ddraig had planned to use, but that was what Ddraig wanted. He wanted to play with her mind leading to his perfect shot. Being caught off guard, not only did she not expect a power move from Ddraig, but she didn't expect him to go for a kill shot immediately. She wasn't fighting Ddraig, the Heavenly Dragon of Domination, she was fighting Ddraig, the Draconic Monster. She couldn't handle the thought. She needed to kill Issei. Rushing to him, she saw that blood was beginning to spill... However, she was right there. Her eyes were beginning to blur to the point where she was having problems even seeing properly.
"No... I can't." She needed to reach him and kill her. Right when she was going to kill him. Her face paled and her eyes lost their color. She simply fell back onto the ground. Closing her eyes once more, she was the Chaos Karma Dragon, but looks like even she wasn't safe from her title.
The death of a Dragon King could be sensed everywhere, the life force suddenly disappearing sent alarms to everyone. However, there was one that sensed the power and smirked.
Standing in the middle of a large crater, with the head of a dead minotaur in his hands, he looked up with a vicious smile. Blood dripped down his hands, his eyes bloodshot from the blood of his opponent leaking into them, he simply smiled before throwing the head away. "Such a power disappearing. Not only that but the other power. There's no denying that it was him."
During the Great War, there were many that had faced the magnificent Ddraig, one of those was another fellow dragon that was approaching their level.
"Ddraig, you sly bastard, figuring out ways of showing yourself to the world even when the big man in the sky sealed you." Crom walked forwards, watching as more Minotaurs rushed at him with their large spiky clubs that were just as large as their entire body. Raising them in the air, five of them swung at the same time in hopes of killing the "humanoid" in front of them. "This generation... Just Ddraig and his host are carrying the interest for me. I wonder when I will meet this host."
Crom, in an instant, ripped off the remaining heads of the Minotaurs in front of him. Leaving them all to fall with blood flooding the crater where he stood. Crom could only shout in the happiness of finally finding something interesting to look for while blood began covering him. Each part of his body began being covered in Minotaur blood, and he loved it.
Miki could be seen washing some dishes to pass the time. She was feeling lonely, even if her husband was here, the gap of her son not being here was beginning to take its toll on her. She began worrying, ever since her son had left the household, she tried to contact him through her phone, but Issei had forgotten his phone at his house. This left her to hope for the best, humming to some sound, she continued washing until she couldn't.
Her husband entered the kitchen, "Miki, want to watch a movie with me?" He watched as his distressed wife slowly turned her head to face him.
"Gorou, do you think he's safe?"
"Definitely, he's a stubborn and strong boy, did you forget that he's our son? I believe in him." Gorou was worried as well, but he needed to calm his wife down. Having multiple miscarriages throughout their lives, Issei was their golden star. He was their hope, happiness, pride. He was their everything, and even knowing that he was away was hurting them, but his wife wouldn't be able to take any sort of distress about her son. He needed to make sure that she could manage her health while Issei was away.
"What if he's hurt? What if he's lost?"
Stopping her with his hand, placing them on her shoulder, and gently shaking her, he said," Miki, he's our son. He knows what he is doing. We must have faith in him. If anything happens, then a single phone call from somewhere and I'll drive to wherever he is and pick him up."
Miki couldn't help but still worry, but she decided to calm down a bit. Maybe she is underestimating her son's capabilities and intelligence. Miki nodded to what Gorou said and walked back to the kitchen to leave all the things there and walk to the living room where the large television that they had was at.
The supernatural world was in crisis. A random being appeared and killed off another powerful being, it was sensed throughout the world, but the sudden speed of it happening caused no one to be able to pick up the location of where it happened. The unconscious body of Issei remained unmoved, nothing dared to come close. A couple of days later, Issei began opening his eyes.
The first thing that Issei saw was the night sky, the stars were covering the entire night sky. Issei remained motionless, watching the sky and trying to remember what happened. Slowly, he began tracing things together. Killing off the magical bear to a blue-haired lady appearing. He remembered Ddraig taking control of his hand and knocking him out... As he got up, he watched as the lady's body was the first thing that he found. A huge hole in her body where her heart was supposed to be a while the blood around her body dried, causing the air to stink.
"Hey Ddraig, did you do this?" No response was heard. "Ddraig? You up buddy?"
Once again, no response, Issei thought that maybe Ddraig was sleeping. Deciding not to disturb him, Issei decided to hunt for some food. He hadn't eaten anything in a couple of days and the first thing he needed was food. Getting up, he felt as if his body was burning. He looked over his body through the light of the moon and saw many slashes, wounds, burn marks, and scratches around his body and clothing.
"Umm... How do I even cook the food? Do I use my aura?" That was a question that Issei had, "Wait, what if I use two sticks to make a campfire like in the movies?" Yeah, that sounded like the perfect idea.
Running around the place, Issei decided that a small rabbit size meal would be perfect. Water would be something that he needed to find as well, he needed to do a lot to just survive. It would be nice if Ddraig was awake to help.
